  1. Well, the Dodgers have a bit of a overload at pitcher with Hill coming back. With Urias they are at 7 starters. If Urias get's sent down then they are still at 6 with Wood possibly to the pen. Long story short, this maybe a little incentive to trade Brandon McCarthy in a package again to offset salary. Also, McCarthy did not pitch so well against the lackluster Phillies tonight. Nats, also lose Eaton for the year and are looking at Herrera from the Royals. A package that includes Braun and Feliz I could see in the works. Similar to Lucroy and Jeffress last year. The Nat's in 2015 were on Braun's OK'd list. I also wouldn't count out the Astro's or Rangers as mentioned earlier.
  2. And Braun to L.A. They didn't bring Bellinger up to sit and start his clock. If he is in left, it truly says that Braun is not of interest to L.A. as Puig is in right and I would not expect a first baseman be able to play center. This maybe the end of this thread with this move unless we see Bellinger in center. Or a platoon in right with Puig but I do not see that happening either. However, it does reveal that the Dodgers are desperate for offense.
  3. Looks like Bellinger is out of the possibilities of coming to Milwaukee.
  4. I could very well see Thames going to Houston in a trade. The Stros also have some very nice pitching prospects as well.
  5. I don't remember where it was but that the offer was Puig McCarthy, DeLeon, AND 1 more player. And that the hang up was the last player. If an offer like last year comes right down to the last minute, you know that both GM's were playing hardball. And this year it's no different. $100.00 says Stearns lights in his office will be on come 11:59 p.m. May 13th.
  6. The Brewers have to get another team involved for Braun. I don't see the Giants making a move for him. However, David Peralta has not been the hottest for Arizona and is also a Lefty. Arizona's prospects are not too bad either. Are they the Dodger prospects??? No, but Arizona is not afraid to pull the trigger on trades. Pair Braun up with Feliz or Nelson and you could get a very nice package back from Arizona. Taylor Clarke, Brad Keller, Jon Duplantier, and Jared Miller look to be excellent choices.
  7. Then we better see at least Woodruff up here and possibly Hader as well.
  8. This is a very good point. Essentially if we are in 1st place, a team could up their chances and destroy ours by simply trading for Braun or Thames. Although, the Brewer Brass could be crucified for such a move if the Brewers are in first place come July 31st.
  9. Would not surprise me if the Stearns revisits the Braves mid July and offer Thames for whatever Braun vetoed. Mike Soroka?!?!
  10. If you guy's want some cheap entertainment, I have been battling with the Dodger's fans on their forum on what we need in return. Long story short, they say any one of Bellinger, Alvarez, Bueller or White is totally off limits in any trade for Braun. Silly Dodger fans..... http://www.forums.mlb.com/discussions/Los_Angeles_Dodgers/_/_/ml-dodgers/148573.1
  11. Another Bomb!!! Seriously, this guy could hit 50+ this year. Unreal....
  12. The Giants and Dodgers keep fartin' the dog and the Rocks and Dbacks will be the ones at the top of the NL West. Won't be long and the Rocks get Desmond and Dahl back and will make them stronger yet. If I'm giving up prospects A, B, and C, for Braun I would want him on my team ASAP. It will cost the team acquiring him the same prospects whether it's today, May 23rd, or July 31st. He may net you 2-3 games between now and May 24th with his bat alone.
  13. I disagree. Toles is currently not hitting that well and is a lefty bat (which the Dodgers have plenty of). He provides very little in the way of power or even stolen bases. What the Dodger's have been lacking is someone that can hit LH pitching. Their really is none better than Braun, who annihilates lefty's. He did it last year and is doing it again this year. Toles would make a great 4th outfielder as well as a great PH in the national league especially come playoff time.
  14. The Padres are LOADED with pitching prospects. The Padres are a team that cannot be blocked by Braun. The Padres need a left fielder badly. The Padres seem to be playing pretty good ball. The Padres can afford Braun's salary. What am I missing here???
  15. When is the date that Braun's full no trade clause kicks in?
  16. Well, here he comes. Meh https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/04/brewers-nearing-deal-with-jared-hughes.html
  17. I wear Brewer hats almost exclusively. Even the camo one for hunting and fishing. I used to wear a Rockies hat until the Brewers switched to the NL. I will not wear another hat from a National League team. Depends on how much of a fan you are. For some reason I get Packer gear for gifts all the time. I dislike the Packers and I tell people to take it back or give it to someone else. I would rather watch a Brewer game with the Brewers in last place than a Packer Game in September.
  18. If Thames falters and Aguilar continues to rake for someone else, your gonna kick yourself. Thames is also sitting with a sore right knee. You would have to be a fool to cut Aguilar at this point.
  19. Bet you will not once in the regular season see him in the 2 hole starting in RF. Spring training reps mean little. I'm not saying he will not log a single inning there this year but Scooter simply doesn't have the arm strength to be anything more than an emergency or very rare opton in CF. If Santana were to go down with a season ending injury today Scooter would absolutely not become the everyday RF. I never said he would be the right fielder. Gennett is made to be a platoon specialist. Santana goes down and Brinson will be called up if it's after the super 2. I said Genett is being groomed to either play OF or INF based on the starting pitcher as a lefty vs rightys. Nothing else, nothing more. Capt Kirk will not make opening day because of this. You heard it here first.
  20. And low and behold there is Scooter in the 2 hole today playing RF. So I can read the Brewer Brass a little.
  21. Hernan is not the preferred INF option vs righties. If Orlando struggles mightily out of the gate Villar will slide over to SS against righties and Scooter will get AB's vs righties at 2B. Thames and Shaw are lefties so they are already pencilled in vs righties. However, vs Lefty pitchers I would imagine Perez at 3B, Orlando at SS, Villar at 2B, and Aguilar at 1B. If Orlando hits righties, then Scooter could spell Domingo vs right handed pitchers. As Domingos numbers are not swell vs righties. Hence, Scooters playing time is dependant upon Orlando and Domingo hitting or the lack thereof.
  22. Scooter is not going anywhere. Counsell/Stearn's managing style is platooning. Scooters lefty bat is huge and will become even bigger as a platoon for the OF as we currently have an all righty OF. I rather have Scooter as the lefty platoon for the OF than Captain Kirk. And add that to his infield versatility and Scooter's value is higher than most realize.
  23. I could see Domingo Santana be traded to the Rockies before anyone else. Domingo is hitting the ball well this spring. Look at the Rocks outfied. Dahl, Blackmon, Parra and Cargo are all lefty's. They could use Domingo, and one could say more of a need over a want. I personally do not see Domingo Santana as Stearns type. Hence the reason the Astros shipped him away in the first place with Stearns as 2nd in charge. Stearns like guys will give up a bit of power in return to get hit, speed, defense, and pure athleticism. We are currently looking for a Lefty OF as a 4th OF to platoon against righties. I could see us take Parra back and his terrible contract. In doing so, we would/should net a great return. This would also open a spot for Ryan Cordell who is currently looking very good! And holding off on Brinson and not starting his service clock. Giving Broxton a full year at CF. Broxton falters, Brinson is our new CF for next year. But if we are sending a young, power hitting OF with control and eating a huge/terrible contract I would want a Brendan Rodgers or a Riley Pint in return. The Rocks currently do not have an opening on that infield in the foreseeable future for Rodgers. Sweeten the pot and throw in Jimmy Nelson and Orlando Arcia and send us both Rodgers and Pint. Disclaimer: (I for one do not feel Orlando Arcia will be able to hit at the MLB level, but that is a different argument for somewhere else and not here)
  24. No way is Braun moving to Colorado. Outside of his no trade list I can only see Toronto (his wife is from there) and possibly Tampa (close enough to his beloved Miami) as destinations he may agree too.
