  1. If Im Stearns and they tell me that a prospect is untouchable in a Hader trade i hang up the phone. Best reliever in the game. Pony up or gfy
  2. it's too bad you weren't in the dugout to tell them that. i doubt it crossed their minds.
  3. I can't believe they keep pitching to this guy. What a hitter! After all those years of watching Rickie Weeks try and hit breaking balls, we deserve this guy.
  4. Imagine dropping a couple hundred on tickets, beer, food, and now you have to sit in traffic without being able to turn on sports radio while you slowly make your way home. Thanks for your money, losers!
  5. We may as well buy a relief arm or two at the deadline and let this play out. If we don't rebound we can always have a fire sale in the offseason given that guys like Hader, Yelich, and Hiura still have a ton of team control left. Also, the value on at least Hader and Yelich can only go down after this season. There is no way they can get any better.
  6. It's not my job to be realistic. I don't get paid to crunch the numbers or know what their budget is. I just want the team to do well. I'm also not mad when they don't make a move. They can be realistic, i'll be hopeful.
  7. It was most certainly a condescending tone, at least the first few lines. Why go there? I dont get that. It's just bizarre. And you know what? Yes, it is our money. We invest a ton of money into this team. What they dont get from selling tickets to US, and concessions and merch to US, they get from advertisers who also sell to US and pay THEM because of US. It all comes from US. I appreciate everything that Mark has brought to this team, but there is nothing wrong with us wanting it to get even better especially considering everything that we have contributed.
  8. Yellich is going to have the career that Braun was supposed to have.
  9. I've got a pair of extras in Section 117, Row 20 (right behind home plate) for below face if anyone wants them. 40 each. Willing to transfer first and you can venmo me once you're in. PM me if interested.
  10. Why even mess around?? Tell Knebel to play it safe and sign Kimbrel already. Why are on the verge. Dont waste this!
  11. Yes, but with that few saves in that many games finished it implies that he was very rarely used in high pressure 9th inning situations.. and i would think that is the experience we are hoping he would have as that could very well end up being what we need him for at times.
  12. I picked the ticket upgrades because I only have a 20 game pack and the rest of the options seemed pretty lame. My seats are about 20 rows behind home plate in the infield box, so i'm assuming the only upgrade they can give me is the first couple of rows. Pretty nice thing to get for free imo.
  13. this is really the trump card to what is already a very tired argument and a strange hill to die on..
  14. So what is the underlying assumption here? That Jimmy is so talented he was destined to have the season he had in 2017? The league is littered with very talented ball players that put up a single solid season and never amounted to much more than that one season. I'm sure in every one of those instances there were stories of tangible reasons to explain that one season. I don't think it's any less hollow to assume that 2017 Jimmy is the Jimmy we get going forward. if your definition of the word "outlier" is simply, "this one thing is different from these other things," then yes you could call the season an outlier if we were just looking at three sets of numbers in a vacuum. it's very possible that 2017 will be Jimmy Nelson's high water mark, but as that story is still unfolding I don't find it appropriate to label that season as an outlier, or an aberration just yet.
  15. Strawman argument. Nobody is saying he will regress back into a pumpkin. We're saying we don't know, and until we do by definition 2017 was an outlier. To call his third full season an outlier, while technically true, is a pretty hollow assessment of where he was at. Young, talented players tend to improve over time heading towards their athletic prime. If he had pitched six full season and his last one was was great while the other five were average, saying outlier is more sufficient. But many players struggle early on. Its just kind of a pointless thing to say. The bigger picture is that he took a big leap forward and there were tangible reasons to point to for his improvement.
  16. Did anyone get the ticket upgrade vouchers last season? What was that process like as far as getting the new tickets?
  17. Lol 13 years. Hes gonna be a burden in 7.
  18. What a weird interview.. seems like what he needed was a sports psychologist more so than a doctor or specialist.
  19. Because he won't be cheap and he reaches base about 30% of the time. I agree. But if the price comes down and the years can be limited.... As for the obp, if he is batting #7 before Arcia and the pitcher that isn't as big a deal. I do think he has one more big year in him. We are in win-now mode and we don't have to give up anything but money to get him. If he's the best non-superstar option remaining at 3B then spend the money. But I do agree with limiting the years. No more than 2.
  20. Profit is fine, but zero owners made their living owning a sports team. That came first. While an owner is entitled to do what they want with their team, if the owner of my team was valuing profit over being competitive I would cease to support that team. Fans don't fill the stands to look around and say, "Oh gosh, my team's owner is doing such a great job at making money!" We want to win, that's why we are there. If they aren't on board with that they won't get my money.
  21. He's a power hitter who has a good glove and seems like a great clubhouse guy. Why not?
  22. If we trade him now, we have no one once Grandall leaves. So then we are the ones having to overpay for a catcher. Unless he is part of a package to get a legit starting pitcher, what's the point?
  23. If Arcia can just be a league average hitter to go with his great defense, we are in business. I have to believe it's a forgone conclusion that we will find a decent 2b at some point. TBH, I would love to just re sign Moose on a short term deal and move Shaw back to 2b. Moose was great with the glove and i just love his demeanor.
  24. Don't forget that the Packers just hired Ryan Reynolds to be their coach. lol Yeah the move will get fluffed to no end but until we see it on the field he's a big question mark. Intriguing, but i wouldn't call it a slam dunk.
