  1. He's just so clutch. How could you not vote for Javy Baez for MVP after the September/October he's having?
  2. If Cedeno can get out of the 6th, you've got Soria for the 7th, Knebel 8th, Jeffress 9th without using Hader...
  3. I saw something this morning that said ESPN's streaming would have the game. I haven't used that on my Roku before though so hoping it won't be a problem.
  4. Is Milwaukee part of the Chicago black out zone? MLB.TV is free this weekend but I can't watch the game...
  5. Glad for them that they have the day off today so they got to have a fun party and Counsell can probably give them the full day off today. Not sure how their schedule normally works, but they seem like the kind of team that would get together this evening for a light workout and watch the Cubs game in the clubhouse or something.
  6. So if we tie the Cubs, it's essentially like we get 2 chances to win the Wild Card game. If we win either game, we're in the NLDS, but winning the first game on the road would give us the opportunity to host every series until the WS. Chacin would be on regular rest to pitch on Monday, so I'd guess they'd pitch him. I wonder what they'll do on Sunday though. It looks like, if the game is important, they might do another bullpen game, but that could be bad if we have to play Monday/Tuesday as we will want a rested bullpen. Hoping for solid starts from Davies/Miley the next two days to keep the bullpen well rested. Looking at any "Wild Card" scenario, be it game 163 or the actual, I would think if Chacin can get through 3 innings, you could get Hader for 2, Knebel for 1, Burnes for 1, Soria for 1, Jeffress for 1. If either of those guys is looking good or zooms through an inning in less than 10 pitches, let them throw another and maybe bounce Soria?
  7. 2014 was such a disappointing season. It seemed like we had the right team to compete and we just couldn't go the distance. At the time it didn't look like I was going to see October baseball in Milwaukee for a good long while. Special thanks to Doug Melvin and David Stearns for making the necessary moves to turn this organization around. I'll always remember the feeling in the air at Miller Park in October 2011. I didn't get a chance to go to a game in 2008 and I wasn't even a twinkle in my dad's eye in 1982, so that year felt really special. That year it felt like we were going to win the World Series pretty much all year. This year didn't feel like that for most of the year, but I'll be damned if it doesn't feel like that now. This is an incredible team that is simply finding ways to win ball games every night down the stretch against tough teams. I've got my postseason tickets already, hoping I can make it to every home game in October and get to see the first World Series in Milwaukee in my lifetime. Go Crew!
  8. Cedeno's got a great curveball against lefties. Seems like he hits that outside corner with regularity.
  9. Couldn't even get the first one right. Cedeno coming in to face Carpenter according to Haudricourt.
  10. Assuming the score stays roughly the same: 6: Hader 7: Woodruff 8: Burnes 9: Jeffress ?
  11. Cardinals OF sucks, I'm ok with stretching there. Aguilar scores from 3rd a lot more easily than from 2nd.
  12. I get the feeling that if the Brewers win today, they're going to win the division. I wonder if the pressure was on at Wrigley last night when they were in a rain delay and we got off to a 6-0 lead. We start earlier than them tonight too, I hope we score early and keep that pressure on and make the Cubs press.
  13. Yelich is at 4.6 fWAR in the 2nd half of 2018. Sabathia was at 4.2 fWAR in the 2nd half, but he had two starts before the "2nd half" for the Brewers, one of which was a CG and both were Brewers wins. I'd say it's pretty close to even (although obviously one stat doesn't tell the whole tale, it at least doesn't "prove" who was better one way or the other). Neither team makes it to the playoffs without that player, but I'm inclined to say CC because of how magically impossible it was that he was so good. Yelich has been almost like having Barry Bonds for half a season which has been incredible to watch, but there was something about CC shutting guys down every 5th (or every 4th) day for months that just feels more dominant and special. Kinda makes me wonder what this team would look like right now if we had emptied out the farm for DeGrom (glad we didn't, but man would that be a team to be feared).
  14. These last two games have been so much fun to watch. I feel like we have a great chance to win tonight but that's kinda the fun of it is that you're only as good as the next guy in the rotation. Not even Yelich can carry this team all the way to the World Series. Cubs have struggled and are facing some tough pitching this week, but I don't think we can just assume they're going to lose 4 out of their last 5 or something. Gotta keep winning to get that division title!
  15. Like Knebel, this is 4 appearances in 5 days for him. No way he goes a 2nd inning. Jeffress has hardly pitched lately, this is actually a good spot for him to get a lower stress inning.
  16. I got 3 for the WC game, then 2 for each DS game. But I did "add additional tickets" after getting each ticket so it was just one order.
  17. Will it be under special offers?
  18. I'm logged into a SSH account online and still don't see where I can go at 10am to buy tickets. Anybody have any idea?
  19. Aguilar was 1-10 in the Cubs series, but apart from that he hasn't been THAT bad lately. Thames is 3-13 in September, and he almost has as many hits as he had in the entire month of August (4-44). I could see giving Thames a few starts against righties, but not sure he's a better option even against most righties than Aguilar.
