  1. I agree with you, but I don't know who else on this team should even be in the rotation. I don't think Freddy is a starter either. Maybe you can stretch out Suter and go Woodruff-Burnes-Lindblom-Anderson-Suter. That's an awfully weak rotation, though. If only Eric Lauer didn't poop his pants but he could possibly be an option down the road. Woodruff Burnes Anderson Lindbloom Lauer If Woodruff and Burnes can pitch up to their capabilities that rotation wouldn't be half bad.
  2. Houser is fine as long as you realize he is a 4/5 and not a 2/3 starter. I agree that he would be more impressive in the bullpen but we aren't exactly swimming in starting pitchers.
  3. Second verse, same as the first ... Is this where you say that its a small sample size and that this offense is really good. Sogard and Peterson are really major league hitters and Garcia is worth every penny of his 10 million oer year contract.
  4. Is Urias too banged up to play both games of a doubleheader. Sogard will surely be able to do it.
  5. Yeah but Stearns said the hitting coach isn't the problem.
  6. If Yelich isn't playing at an MVP level this team has no chance to be successful.
  7. None of our starters have been all that good. Even Woodruff has been shaky.
  8. Why is Urias on the bench. These lineup decisions have been baffling all season long.
  9. Its enough with the Sogard in the lineup against every righty. Let Gyorko play every day and get some at bats. As for Peterson even being on this roster its a perfect example of why we should be selling at the deadline.
  10. The biggest problem is that we haven't produced any position player talent from our system besides Hiura and Grisham who was traded for Urias. One other thing that rarely gets mentioned is how poorly historically we have done in Latin America and that goes back way before Stearns was hired. Besides Arcia and he hasn't exactly shined what have we to show from our dealings in Latin America over the past decade if not longer. Stearns has mostly made great trades and the first few drafts under Montgomery brought us talented pitchers like Woodruff and Burnes but we just have not hit on enough bats and thats why we were forced to sign guys like Sogard. I too believe in analytics to judge players but I think we are way too reliant on it when it comes to amateur scouting. I know others will defend our scouting department but I don't think they have been very good at all.
  11. How is this not universally accepted when the Brewers have a bad local tv deal and draw very well for their market size. It doesn't explain the cheap last offseason but it will be why we don't spend next offseason either.
  12. Counsell has made a lot of strange decisions this season. His use of Hader as a traditional closer instead of the bullpen weapon that he has always been is one of the strangest.
  13. Yep ... auction time. Who's got the best corner IF prospect to deal? Philadelphia has a front office feeling the heat and Alec Bohm. I don't know enough about him to say if he is good enough to highlight a package for Hader but he was a high draft pick. I saw him the other night and he looks like a good hitter but he needs to put on some weight. Lux is still the number one target for me but I doubt they will trade him. San Diego is another team to target with a great farm system.
  14. Imagine this board if they had pinch-hit Sogard. Its pitiful that he was probably the best choice for that at bat.
  15. Why have Hader on the team if we are only going to use him in the 9th inning.
