  1. The current averages of todays lineup; .235, .198, .245, .198, .213, .190, .286, .120, .262.
  2. Haines getting as excited as he has been lately everytime we score tells you he knows his time is up.
  3. I've never seen a team have so many games where their first hit isn't until the 5th inning or later. Forget scoring this team can't even get base hits and we aren't exactly facing elite pitching lately.
  4. I believe you’ve mentioned this multiple times now. Is this based on actual data, or your personal assumptions? How can this not be the case. The Brewers play in the smallest market have a terrible local tv contract yet draw very well. I can't imagine another team being more hurt by not having fans in the stands. The ownership lowered the payroll last offseason when they still expected big crowds. Without that revenue its hard to imagine that they will increase payroll. Certainly many teams are hurt without this revenue but what other team has the combination of the Brewers lack of local tv money but draws fans like this team has.
  5. No team has been more hurt without the gate revenue than the Brewers. Attanasio lowered payroll last offseason with the expectation of filling the ballpark and without that revenue I expect payroll to stay at current levels or go down again. This is why the lack of position player talent in our system hurts so much.
  6. Sogard will be leading off since we are facing a righty and we need him to get as many at bats as possible. Burnes should be able to handle this lineup and hopefully we can put up some runs against this scrub.
  7. This team needs help badly. Hader would just be a start for them but is a definite match. Bohm was a high draft pick that plays third base. I have no idea how he projects as a player but the match is there if the Brewers like him. Watching him a little he looks like he needs to put on some weight but he was a very high pick that has made it to MLB very quickly. I don't think any team will be more desperate than Philadelphia. They have spent big and have nothing to show for it. Klentak and MacPhail are probably out if they don't make the playoffs.
  8. I don't know if anything will materialize but this team desperately needs to improve this punchless lineup and Hader is the only chip we have to accomplish this. We have no bats even remotely close to helping us and we cannot count on the likes of Sogard and Garcia to be everyday players. San Diego looks like a legitimate contender and has one of the top farm systems in the game. The Dodgers have to be tired of constantly falling just short and have Lux to offer. Both of these teams have bullpen needs and Hader is the best in the game with years of control. What purpose is he serving with this team right now. Its great having a pitcher like Hader but when you have a terrible lineup and spotty at best starting pitching its a luxury and we can cash in if a team values him as highly as I think they will. Stearns needs to turn things around because not only does this season look bleak but we have nothing on the horizon to step in to what is one of the worst lineups in baseball.
  9. We should be sellers and hope that a team looking to win like San Diego or the Dodgers is desperate enough to overpay for Hader. This team is not even remotely close to being a true contender. We don't need to make any rash moves to sneak into a water downed playoffs where we would have little chance of advancing.
  10. I was in favor of this trade because I was and still am hopeful that Urias can be the answer at shortstop. It was also a positive to get a pitcher with much more team control in exchange for Davies who was nothing special. As of today the deal looks horrible and hopefully that will change but this is one move I can't get on Stearns for.
  11. The only saving grace is we aren't really on the hook for these guys long term. Try again next offseason and hope for the best. I'll bring this here. Stearns had a great approach to the offseason. It hasn't worked out the way anyone wanted (well other than maybe one poster) but there wasn't much on the market so he went for bulk. We aren't straddled to any long contracts out of this mess we are witnessing and we have younger-controllable players to build around moving forward. How is signing a bunch of terrible players to start a great approach to the offseason. I liked the Holt and Gyorko signings as well as the Urias deal but there were some moves that never made any sense such as signing Sogard, Smoak, or Garcia for that matter. Stearns has mostly done a fantastic job since taking over as the GM and I think he can do it again but why can't people just say he whiffed last offseason. Blame definitely needs to be placed on Attanasio as well for lowering payroll but we had a bad offseason. This doesn't mean that Stearns should be fired but it is more than fair to criticize the moves that were made before this season.
  12. Stearns probably did not go from genius to incompetent overnight but its time to just say he had a terrible offseason and needs to do better going forward.
  13. I hate this move. At least Holt has a track record of getting on base. Peterson is a career scrub who offers nothing.
  14. Unless the Mariners are paying down a lot of his contract and not expecting much in return I dont see us making a move for him. Remember that we cut payroll last offseason and that was with the expectation that we would fill the park with fans every night. No team in baseball was more hurt than the Brewers financially by the inability to have fans in the stands. From a pure baseball perspective Seager makes perfect sense with his contract being short term and the Mariners probably being happy to just get rid of him. Unfortunately I do not see ownership giving the ok to add a big salary especially under the current circumstances.
  15. Pirates were the only offense worse than ours.
  16. I don't even have a clue where we could be put to get some protection. Garcia has been a bit better, as has Hiura, but Narvaez not being able to hit his weight has been really rough. They were depending on him to be on of the better bats in the lineup. Never thought I would see a Brewer regular that hit worse than Travis Shaw last year. Maybe Haines is the issue. Shaw looks better this year and Aguilar is also hitting well.
  17. Narvaez weak ground ball nearly every at bat.
  18. Well we have two more innings for the bats to wake up.
  19. Blame the manager for his obsession with Sogard. I don’t know what that has to do with Braun? Unless you’re Clancy in disguise and think he should be playing 3B? Counsell has been going straight platoon which means Sogard and Holt are in against righties. If he didn't believe so much in those two Braun would be in there and not at third base obviously.
  20. Good thing most of these contracts are one year with options that won't be picked up.
