Simple question who has had a better season offensively Hiura or McCutchen and while we are at it Hiura vs righthanders against every other player on this team. Keston has done very well against righties yet he never seems to start against them when the numbers clearly show he should start against all righties and not so much against lefties.

Sme people like to cherry pick the stats to defend whatever the team does but I look at the whole season and it shows that McCutchen is not an everyday player and he shouldn't be penciled into the lineup each and every day hitting 3rd or 4th each game.

The Brewers could use Ben Sheets as the DH and you would defend it.

Pretty sure McCutchen has started every game he has been available and he always hits 3rd or 4th since Yelich became the leadoff guy. The time has come to start Hiura against all righties and Brosseau against lefties and sit McCutchen more often.

You got what you asked for as McCutchen is now batting third though I agree with you that he shouldn't be playing everyday regardless.

Kelly has more upside and regardless trading an arm like Kelly for a 37 yr old reliever makes no sense. Stearns was clearly overcompensating for the Hader trade by acquiring as many bullpen arms as possible when he should have been looking to improve the lineup.

I would be thrilled to get rid of that albatross of a contract so absolutely put him through the process and see if anyone wants to let us off the hook.

One other thing comparing Kelly and Small is crazy. Though both have control problems Kelly has top of the rotation upside wiith his big arm while Small projects as a 4th or 5th starter best case scenario. Maybe neither will become successful but my bet is on Kelly without a doubt.

Kelly had the best arm in our system so trading him for a 37 yr old reliever is one of the most indefensible moves Stearns has ever made. Personally I would take Kelly over Gasser who everyone seems gaga over since he became Brewers property. Giving up a potential top of the rotation arm for any reliever specifically this one is stupid.

They clearly paid a high price but I expect Soto to sign long term to make the trade worthwhile and while it will take a few years to rebuild the farm system Preller is as good as it gets at that part of the job.
