  1. I wish some team would take Yelich off our hands.
  2. Clearly Corbin doesn't have it tonight so it would be nice if this offense can pick him up for once.
  3. Yelich to me gets a C for getting on base at a good level but no higher due to his complete lack of power and bad defense. Taylor deserves a C for being decent defensively and coming up with clutch hits but I can't go higher due to his awful OBP McCutchen gets a C- for being completely mediocre and the fact that he was our "big" acquisition and he is just not good enough to be playing everyday in the middle of the lineup. He doesn't set the lineup so its obviously not his doing but he is just not an everyday player or middle of the lineup bat for a contending team. Renfroe gets a C for his power and decent enough defense but he's been hurt too much and is another on this team not getting on base enough to receive a higher grade. The outfield overall has been better than the infield but when you consider how much money we have tied up in it the production is not nearly good enough.
  4. These grades are obviously all subjective but this infield as a whole just hasn't played well at all.
  5. Thats fair enough because Buxton is a gold glove caliber center fielder but my comment was about Tellez who is bad defensively and isn't getting on base.
  6. If you have an OBP around .300 you don't get higher than a C in my view.
  7. Don't take this the wrong way but the grades are beyond generous. Rowdy with his .305 OBP and below average defense deserves at best a C and no way a B+. If Wong doesn't get an F I don't know who would but I won't argue too much with a D. I like Adames and appreciate the power and defense but I can't give a grade higher than a C for a player with a .220 average and OBP below .300. Urias deserves a D as he should be a high average, high OBP guy and he has been neither. The infield as a whole deserves a D as not one of these guys has outperformed and Wong in particular has been completely awful.
  8. He supposedly showed big power in batting practice in college and at least has the physical build where you can see potential power but I agree expecting power in any player that hasn't consistently shown it in games is pretty risky.
  9. The first round is too early to go with the profile that we did. I will root for the kid as well as the other slappy middle infielders we selected but I would be shocked if any of them ever pan out.
  10. I don't see high ceilings with any of the middle infielders. The upside looks great with the pitchers and the power hitting catcher but I don't see enough potential with these middle infielders.
  11. Its much harder to project power in these smaller players. At least with a guy like Garrett Mitchell you can see the power upside but with these small middle infield types particularly the Canadian kid who is both small and light projecting power is probably going to be a big mistake.
  12. I am totally against drafting what is considered high floor types in the early rounds. It should be all upside early on and they can go with the lesser upside guys later. The second round pitcher whose name I refuse to even try to spell is the type of high upside talent that we need more of.
  13. They do have a top 500 so its pretty hard to believe no one knew who this guy was.
  14. I was thinking that as well but does St Louis have the prospects to get it done. Last thing we need is Soto in St Louis.
  15. So far I like the pitcher and this power hitting catcher looks intriguing. Hopefully we start picking some more pitching.
  16. Hard to believe you can pick a guy in the third round that none of the draft experts have ever heard of and what's with all these small middle infielders.
  17. Small may not be ready but Alexander is clearly not a major league pitcher and what they were doing claiming Chi Chi who has never shown anything is something I don't get. At least with a guy like Urena you could see some upside even though it didn't work out but Alexander and Chi Chi had no chance of sustained success.
  18. You can see the untapped power in a guy like Garrett Mitchell who completely looks the part but its really stretching to see it in guys like these two.
  19. I agree that Counsell has been leaving in guys way too long when struggling specifically Hader in the game Friday night but once the Brewers were down big yesterday and the game was out of reach it was fine to let Alexander take one for the team. Personally I question Stearns even more for having guys like this and Chi Chi on the roster over Small who you would think has a future with this team.
  20. This team just loves drafting punchless middle infielders.
  21. Very happy with the pitcher but the two middle infielders with utility infielder as their best case scenario is underwhelming to say the least.
  22. This is the type of pick to get excited about. To me its all about upside in the early rounds especially and this kid has it, Probably years away and boy does he need to put on weight but thats a potentially great pick for an organzation that can develop pitching.
  23. Hopefully this guy surprises and has as successful a career as his possible future manager who he is compared to as a player.
