  1. The organization has earned the trust with the drafting and developing of pitchers but not so much with position players so I will defer to the highlights I've seen as well as the mostly underwhelming scouting reports saying he needs a swing overhaul.
  2. We need better offensive production not a middle infielder that needs a swing overhaul and is compared to Craig Counsell of all people. Sorry that does not sound like an impact talent and defintely not a guy we should be picking in round one.
  3. Why have a message board at all if we are not allowed to have opinions.
  4. Good I hope to be proven wrong with Frelick but as of today we don't have any everyday players drafted by this team.
  5. There are spending limits now with international players so we are pretty much on even footing other than the Asian and Cuban stars that go to the highest spenders.
  6. Arcia and I'm pretty certain Taylor predate Stearns so he gets no credit for bringing them into the organization.
  7. The Brewers should probably stick to what they are good at and thats drafting and developing pitchers.
  8. If we are just going by the first round that is an ugly list but they have done a great job in later rounds as have many other organizations like the Dodgers who never pick early.
  9. No one has said that Stearns hasn't made many great moves but the organization has failed big time in drafting position players. Obviously Chourio and others look promising but we have done an awful job developing position players.
  10. Its not just about the first round. We found Burnes in I believe the 4th round and Woodruff the 7th yet don't have one everyday position player drafted by this team.
  11. Sorry but it was from ESPN and I copied it from the scouting reports on here.
  12. Didn't Ray Montgomery who is no longer a Brewers employee the one who picked Burnes
  13. Go back to the previous page which I copied from this very site.
  14. Brown is unique in being a first-round talent who needs a complete swing overhaul in pro ball. He does something with his hands that reminds me of a Samurai, but has hit everywhere and has deceptively good in-game power, in addition to fitting at one or both middle-infield positions. Clubs with good hitting development are lining up around this point of the draft.
  15. All those teams you mentioned as well as Tampa never pick at the top yet keep producing.
  16. How often have the Rays picked top 10 yet their system is always producing talent and there are other teams in similar situations.
  17. He must have holes in his swing if the scouting report is correct that says he needs a swing overhaul.
  18. I've seen comparisons to Craig Counsell and that this player needs a complete overhaul of his swing and we are supposed to be excited?
  19. The Brewers current lineup doesn't have one everyday position player drafted by the team and that is a major failure over many drafts.
  20. I am all for adding some pure hitters but this guy looks like he will have trouble hitting the ball out of the infield. Was hoping for pitching or a potential third baseman and not a puny middle infielder.
  21. Though not a fan of Wiemer personally that guy is a physical specimen and this pick is the polar opposite.
  22. The idea of saving money means you think he was overdrafted to pick a guy that falls later.
  23. Yes its shocking that I am not interested in the next Alcides Escobar but if you like punchless middle infielders he's your guy.
  24. My big takeaway as I shut the draft off is all these guys think they are the next Corey Seager.
  25. Looks like the majority of them are hit on the ground so he can be the next Brewers player to hit really hard groundouts.
