    I think keeping Weimer on the roster through the the start of August made sense. He was showing progress at the plate in June but then regressed at which point he should've been sent down in Aug. He's a great defender and excels around the bases. His only problem is getting on base, which makes him a great late inning option and I can see why CC doesn't want to give that up by sending him to Nashville. And when your in a tight race for the division the team comes 1st and player development gets pushed to the side and I realize that idea can't work long term but injuries changes things

    I really think the writing is on the wall. Just the fact that Counsell hasn’t signed a contract extension with under 2 months left in the regular season is the biggest indicator as he’s an absolute shoe in for a contract extension. I’d say the rumors about about his kids being at an age were seeing them play games and having a bigger influence in their maturing into adults. Just because his family lives in MKE doesn’t mean he actually gets to see them. Even when they’re playing at home he still doesn’t get home until at least midnight. I don’t see him going to NY with Stearns as he’d only have less time with the family. That said, I hope he changes his mind and signs an extension in MKE, I hate the idea of seeing anyone else in the dugout for the Brewers.

    I’m not sure about the Cardinals and it’s not their talent, I think Oliver Marmol has that clubhouse on edge and if there’s trouble in the clubhouse it will show up on the field. I guess time will tell if he’s a good fit with the Card’s

    In the case of Burnes and Woodruff, I don't see it financially smart to even offer either of a long term deal at this point in time Both players are at the top of game which means their financial value is at its peak as well. As long as they have team control of both guys I'd imagine it to be in the Brewers best interest to wait a bit. On top of that, they'll never be able to afford them both. you never know if there could be career ending injury, at this point in time I think waiting is the only move

    I highly dislike Machado and would be happy to see him never get another hit in his career. After the 2018 playoffs when he intentionally clipped Jesus Aguilar’s foot running through 1B and his slide at 2B and grabs Orlando Arcia’s leg to breakup the play. Not to mention he didn’t even attempt to slide into into the base. He’s an unapologetically dirty player and I root hard against the Padres because of it, which is difficult because I like Hader so much and want to see him do well. And this all happened after he slid cleats high and clipped Justin Pedroia in the back of the knee which led to surgery and possibly cost him a few years of his career

    I don’t see Burnes going anywhere before 2023 mid-season. It gives the Brewers a chance to feel out their competitiveness and ability to compete for the post season and I also think you get more for players in trades when other teams have the need in that moment versus the off-season when there’s no wins and losses on the board. the other questions is really for Brewers management and that is do they think they can compete for a World Series in the next 2 seasons and if not then they need to make a deal

    I have to agree with issues about umpires, but what is most frustrating for me is that the MLB keeps and tracks statistics for umpires. They use these stats such as missed balls/strikes calls to rate them and they do nothing with the information. Im sick of umpires creating their own zones and affecting the results of games. Especially umpires like Angel Hernandez who regularly miss calls should be held accountable. The worst part about A Hernandez type umpires is that they are trying to put their stamp on the game and its outcome and that's not what their job is. It almost seems like a jealousy thing where they want to be the star and for fans to recognize them. Nobody should ever remember a game and its outcome because of a call the umpire made.

    I guess it’s a good indicator to why smart wealthy business owners want to own even the teams that claim to lose money year after year. They may be losing money on paper, but I find it hard to believe they’re losing anything. It’s interesting that the players salaries are all public record, but the teams financials are not. I wonder what teams like the Yankees and Dodgers make in fan merchandise annually. I know the Dodgers have a $8.35 billion dollar tv contract over 25 years. Aside from that, I thought owners and players learned from the 1993 strike. It had a much larger negative effect than anyone was expecting with a lot of lost fans that took many years to rebuild

    I’d hate to see the Brewers go anywhere else, but there are some definite issues with the relationship between the team, Wisconsin Professional Baseball Park District and tax payers in regards to the stadium. First off I don’t understand why the team receives all revenue from stadium naming rights. They own 29% of the team with the WPBPD owning 71% and receiving nothing. The other issue is transparency, the WPBPD meeting minutes are of public record yet it’s been stated that the notes are always short with limited detail. I don’t live in the area, but I’d be curious to know if their meetings are open to the public since the WPBPD is tax payer funded

    Congratulations to the Atlanta Braves on winning the World Series. I really didn’t want to see the Astros win the WS, especially since I thought they should have been suspended from the playoffs for at least 1 season but preferably 2. It’s a bit frustrating that for 3 straight seasons the Brewers have been knocked out by the eventual WS winner.

    I was concerned about the Brewers hiring Andy Haines in the beginning. After all, they hired a hitting coach who had just been fired from a team(Cubs) that previously had pretty good performing batters before he left his mark on the team.

    I’m curious if any team has experimented with multiple hitting coaches within a team. I could it benefitting the players and team. There are so many different swing styles in baseball and I’d have to imagine that some hitters don’t mesh well with some hitting coaches styles and having a 2nd coach could be highly beneficial. Within the Brewers organization there have been players that have progressed under Haines and others who haven’t. I suspect the big issue that may have led to Andy Haines being fired is Christian Yelich’s struggles over the past 2 seasons. Yelich being the Brewers premier player and future of the organization that Haines may have ultimately been held responsible for not getting Yelich back to 2018, 2019 numbers. Maybe I’m out of my depth here on hitting coaches, but just a thought.

    Unless the MLB changes their mind on NL DH I don’t think we’ll see Braun back in a Brewers uniform unless it’s for a mid-summer Brewers home stretch fairwell series. Where Braun signs a 3 day contract to appease fans that want to see him 1 last time at Miller Park with fans in the seats. And yes it’s Miller Park, I don’t care what signs they put on the stadium facade

    I think for Braun to be a Brewer in 2021 then there will have to be a NL DH. It’s my understanding that the only other teams he’d want to play for are So Cal teams because of his desire to stay close to home. I don’t think his health would really permit him to play any other position other than DH. His back is a mess and every so often he has to have that cryo treatment on the nerve in his thumb. He’s not someone I’d rely on as a full time player and I’d really like to see what Ben Gamel could do as an everyday player in a Brewers Uni. I’d really like to see him retire as a career Brewers

    I really like pitchers hitting, I think it adds to game strategy especially late in games, managers contemplating over that decision to ph with a runner on or to let the pitcher hit because he’s of great value in upcoming inning/s. It’s a perfect example of why Joe Maddon is back in the AL. He was terrible at late innings pitcher management

    I’ve read articles and quotes from players stating that playing as many games as possible is the most important factor to them and they feel they should play 82 games as a minimum. They’re trying to play it as money is only a secondary concern. I’m calling bs! If that were so then, instead of countering the MLB at 70 games with 100% prorated salary they would have countered their offer at 88 games with 80% prorated salary, being that games played of the most importance to the players. Financially the 2 contract terms would work out to be the same. If the MLB and MLBPA can’t work this out and play games in the 2020 season it’s going to cost them all a lot more in future seasons. The 1994 strike should be a guiding light for both players and owners. If fans stop showing up to the ballparks again it’ll cost owners and obviously players future contracts

    Obviously nothing is concrete, but I never thought we’d see Yelich wearing a Brewers jersey beyond 2022. Maybe it’s possible Yelich’s time with the Marlins has given him a true appreciation for playing for a team with energy surrounding the franchise and fans in the seats. Of course I think every fan of a well supported sports franchise feels their favorite team offers players an environment better than the other competing teams. But myself as a Brewers fan that has never lived in Milwaukee or Wisconsin for that matter, I really do think Milwaukee is a special city along with the entire state. It is beautiful in the summer time and has amazing attractions. The best part of a contract of this potential size is that it wouldn’t completely hinder the teams ability to sign other talent

    I’m good with any Brewers uniforms as long as they’re incorporating the ball and glove, new or old design it doesn’t matter to me. Try and find another logo in sports that brings it all together as well as the mb ball and glove design.

    I’m curious why Suter isn’t listed as a strong candidate for the starting rotation. Yeah, he doesn’t have the velocity, but he’s not that type of pitcher and has never been. He’s always proven himself as a reliable part of the Brewers staff with his off speed game. Or are they looking at him as a long relief guy .

    Ortiz also has 3 rings to sit on top of. He’s no longer a player and I’m sure his opinion of the Astros, Fiers, etc.. would be very different if he was on the losing end or it cost him his 1st World Series ring. I also view the pitchers of the Astros differently than players who are taking AB’s. There’s a hierarchy within teams and I can’t think of any MLB team in history where you heard that a pitcher was the leader of the clubhouse.

    To be honest I haven’t a clue what to expect from the 2020 Brewers. I do know that the team will miss both Moustakas and Grandal’s bats and the current roster doesn’t positively compensate for their loss. I do expect improvements on the pitching front, of course that’s assuming a healthy pitching staff throughout the season. I’d love to see the Brewers bring Luc back to possibly platoon 1B and more importantly be a strong veteran presence for younger catchers. I don’t think he’s drawing a ton of demand on the market. The Reds have definitely improved on paper, but I thought they under performed last year. They show signs of being able to contend but seem to let it slip away.

    I think they’re feeling competitive after the offense they put up last season that they’re looking to round out pitching to take them to the next level. Not to mention competition in AL Central was a little weak with the tigers and royals giving wins away.

    All the newer jerseys are flex base and cool base is old jersey material technology by majestic athletic. I had ordered a few jerseys over the years and have both material types.
