  1. Decent outing for Woody. Hopefully he can get back in time.
  2. Well, they have a guy who last pitched in relief before his start yesterday and a minor league call up pitching today. They don't seem to have an issue. It's about the offense. A three run lead in the third inning shouldn't be game over but it will be for this offense.
  3. And, blow up inning commences in .......
  4. This whole friggin lineup. Who is tuning in on a national level saying "yeah, that looks like a winning lineup"
  5. Monestario just made up his mind he was swinging at everything.
  6. Amazing what you can do if you execute and throw strikes.
  7. Nice start to the game by Winans. Let's see what happens once they have a look at him. Hopefully Houser can keep them close.
  8. Other than Burnes, I don't think it matters much. This Braves team is just on a another level.
  9. Offense coming around but the pitching has quietly settled down too.
  10. 4-12 have a dozen major league home runs combined.
  11. Interesting that Perkins gets the call in center. Weimer seems to getting days off at least a little more frequently. Wonder if that trend will continue.
  12. Regardless of the corresponding mover, I think we all hope he makes a big difference for the offense..
  13. But if it's year three and he does figure it out, you are going to be very happy to have that extra year. How does sending him down for two weeks not worth that?
  14. It's not about spending. It's about giving the player and team as much time and flexibility in determining what the path forward is.
  15. At this moment, sure. I think the hope for the Brewers is that he eventually figures out how to hit major league pitching. It may take a couple years to figure that out. Why not get another year of service time to figure it all out?
  16. Look, cutting Tapia was the right and predictable call. Having said that, given Weimer two weeks in AAA is not going to make or break this team. The guys isn't hitting, at all. Sending him down would be perfectly justifiable and not just "service time manipulation".
  17. We are talking about two weeks to gain a year.
  18. How is sending down Weimer even remotely comparable to trading Burnes?
  19. Clearly a short term tryout to see if they can fill a hole before the deadline and focus assets elsewhere.
  20. Also, as someone pointed out earlier, Perkins has been an elite defender. He can also play a very good CF and not hit. They have viable replacements.
