That is not a rule. There are plenty of rookies having far more offensive success than Joey is. There are also plenty of rookies that have come up, struggled, got sent down and then returned and been very productive players. Still more have been platooned at some point in their early careers. Nobody is saying Joey will never be a good everyday player, just saying he isn't right now. Every game thread points out how awful this offense is. I don't see why there is such a resistance by a few to a pretty obvious upgrade.
