  1. Bless your heart. You have a good day now.
  2. Nor has any other team found a good enough reason to acquire him despite his minor and/or major league numbers.
  3. You're right. Mixed results for sure and I have no issue with the guy getting a shot.
  4. Is 230 at bats enough to make the determination that Keston has improved? Are we ignoring the previous 500 or so at bats that say he isn't very good at all? I tend to be in the camp that think bringing Keston up is worth the try but its not a different gamble than trading for Winker. There are reasons to think it may help but plenty of reasons to think it might not.
  5. This might be a good point. Maybe Keston has some trade value as a well performing rebound player in AAA. If he comes up and fails again, he may have zero utility. He may have more value to the Brewers as a AAA trade chip.
  6. Are you saying that something that has proven to be awful to this point in the season has zero chance of turning it around despite a proven track record of performance in past seasons?
  7. Wrong. "If you are making a general statement and you say that something is the exception that proves the rule, you mean that although it seems to contradict your statement, in most other cases your statement will be true. " "the presence of an exception applying to a specific case establishes ("proves") that a general rule exists" You're entire argument is hedging talk. "Pigs could fly, but I don't think it's likely". Or maybe more of a Monty Python skit at this point. Either way, you keep pining for something that has literally never happened.
  8. Ever heard of the exception the proves the rule? 2011 is kinda exactly like that. The only reason the Cards are 4 times more likely to win the division (according to some) this year is that there are more games left to play. Either way, my super proprietary formula says the Cards are 100% done and I've never backed off of that.
  9. Those odds seem to be dropping like a rock. Cardinals are, and have been, done.
  10. So this is one of the very worst teams in Cardinals history. Cool.
  11. Specifically Mr. Wainwright.
  12. That's all I'm saying.
  13. I say the Cards are done. If I'm wrong, I'll own it.
  14. 12 years ago is not recent and the roster and situation are not the same in any way. Cardinals are out of it.
  15. If you can use stats you like, others can use stats they like. Either way, you didn't prove the point you wanted to.. Those numbers do not reflect a good pitching staff.
  16. All of that is true but they are going to have to play a whole lot better than they have and they have shown zero indication that they can.
  17. I hadn't realized that Contreras had been that awful.
  18. Sure, except literally no one has said that.
  19. This is exactly right and the reason run differential is a bad argument on its own. I wish I could give the original post multiple thumbs up and giant blinking stars.
  20. How does that not mean anything when the question you posed was whether any of these teams have shown the ability to have that kind of run? You can't ask that then say the proof doesn't mean anything. Meanwhile, the one team that actually hasn't shown that ability is just assumed to have that run in them?
  21. They also went something like 20-8 the first month. So they have definitely shown they can.
  22. Who says the are under performing? The fangrapsh graph you posted sure doesn't think they are.
  23. It might be much if your pitching and defense are at the other end of the spectrum.
