  1. The fact that Villar was able to look at the right fielder field the ball, made the play even more dumb IMO.. take the single.. you got three good bats behind you with no outs and the starter has been struggling.. Miley looking good so far tho!
  2. In the Carolina League, as of today: Carolina is last in the league in BA, .235 (next team is .239) Tied for second last in OPS Second last in SLG Highest total SO. next team is 36 less Least amount of Total bases Pitching is in the middle of the pack in all stats Pretty pitiful when this team was considered to be one of the top 10 best Minor league teams in all of the minors according to BA before the season started. That was before Harrison was moved up as well. 3 hits in 12 innings and 18 strike outs(Ray with 3) yesterday.. this has been brought up multiple times (me included).. but who the hell are these coaches.. last years Brevard County team was one of the worse I remember seeing ever.
  3. Lutz hasn't played since the 11th (didn't play in either game of the double header yesterday) anyone hear anything on him that I might have missed
  4. yeah I was wrong.. Something people are afraid to say on this forum. Brewers were ranked 8th for both MILB and BA.. quite interesting. Seems like alot of the scouts love Lutz.. i heard rumors that Brewers wanted to draft him in the first.. how he dropped that far is crazy
  5. This again? So, in your opinion, you can't possibly be a true Brewer fan if you sell your tickets on the open market and a Cub fan happens to buy them? I'm so tired of these judgments. You must be filthy rich (or completely financially irresponsible - as long as we are throwing around judgement of people) if you would be willing to forfeit $100 plus per ticket just so that there is no chance a Cub fan will get your seats. Also, MLB teams do not care at all if you sell your tickets on the secondary market. All MLB season tickets holders are given a direct link within their season ticket holder account to sell tickets directly on Stub Hub. The fan purchasing the tickets can print them off directly from Stub Hub. My family has been season ticket holders for the Packers the whole entire time of the Packers existence. We have never sold our tickets over face value and always have sold them to friends. But a big reason for this is because if you sell your tickets to strangers and they get kicked out or in trouble. We would lose our season tickets forever. Not sure what the Brewers do for that
  6. First, quit with the first part. If you can't communicate like an adult, don't communicate here. If you're actually wondering, yes, since I was about 4. Second, the preseason article ranked teams by overall farm system strength, not by that wacky Prospect Points thing. The Braves were ranked #1 on the preseason list, but were third in Prospect Points. The midseason article ranked teams solely by Prospect Points. The two different rankings are not congruous - they aren't even measuring the same thing. The Prospect Points thing looks to measure "impact" potential, while the human intuition-based rankings take into account depth as well as top tier talent. It's been stated over and over again, but the reason the Brewers have a very good farm system - as in, currently right now - is the exceptional amount of depth the team has. I'd have to check to see if it's still the case, but for quite awhile they lead all minor league systems in players with at least a 50 OFP (as awarded by MLB Pipeline staff). That's especially important to a small market like Milwaukee, who needs to be able to restock with internal quality. Internal quality is what will allow them to go out and use big league payroll flexibility when they need it. As for Carolina, this is a couple years old and formatted for crap, but Zebulon is in the 23rd percentile in terms of run environment. That's low. 10th percentile for home run enviornment. That's really, really low. It's true that the Carolina League is as a whole more hitter friendly than the FSL. However, Myrtle Beach, Zebulon and especially Wilmington have three of the poorer run environments in all of minor league baseball. Zebulon isn't Space Coast Stadium, but it is absolutely deflating enough to offensive stats that the output has to be adjusted for context. lmao, so a team with the highest amount of points is ranked third and that doesn't correlate? Look at the total points of all teams in the preseason article. There ranking of total points is close to where they are ranked as a minor league system. When the updated list comes out of top minor league systems from milb and Brewers are not top 10, then we will see who is talking. You can disagree with how they do this, but its quite obvious this has correlation. You obviously ignore the the other 3 sites that pretty much say the same thing about, again, our TOP PROSPECTS.. This supposed deep minor league system just added 8 newly acquired players to the top 30. If this system was so deep it should have been hard for any college player to make the top 30, especially guys drafted in later rounds, yet 4th, and 12th rounders made this. I'd like to know a last time a player drafted past round 10 made such a "deep minor league system" as everyone like to say. Lets see how this correlates? From March Top 10 teams with total points = there minor league system rankings 1) New York Yankees = 2 2) Chicago White Sox = 3 3) Atlanta Braves = 1 4) San Diego Padres = 10 5) Milwaukee Brewers = 5 6) Los Angles Dodgers = 12 7)Pittsburgh Pirates = 4 8) Colorado Rockies = 8 9) Cincinnati Reds = 16 10) Tampa Rays = 6 In every form of data there are going to be outliers. The one outlier are the Reds, and maybe the Dodgers(so sick of them having a great minor league system and the highest payroll). Reds have a difference of 7 positions from the points ranking and their system ranking. The Brewers are 19th.. Again, I def don't think they are 19th, I still think(and hope they are) a top 10, but based on the correlation of how they rank players and systems it doesn't seem like they do. Lets hear, "but the Padres were 4th in points and were ranked 10".. smh
  7. Love the hard work and content here, but one major flaw in this. Because you have such a high threshold of AB's, your numbers are skewed to show only guys who have stayed in A+ ball the whole year pretty much. If guys are in A+ the whole year they usually are not have a great statistical yr or they are working on things. Most guys who have hit well in the Carolina league will get bumped to AA and they will never hit your threshold of 350 AB's. There could have been 15 Carolina guys that hit well and now are ate AA, but are not on this list which in results ranks Gatewood and others higher than what they actually were for ranking of stats in the Carolina league. I am not sure how many guys got moved up to AA from Carolina, but I'd like to know them and there stats as well. I agree Carolina is considered a pitchers league, but i don't think it is this extreme.
  8. I agree. But these total points in their ranking system, in the opinion of Pipeline, correlates with their opinion of the teams overall ranking. Are they 19, no way IMO.. but they might not be top 10 anymore, based on TOP PROSPECTS that will have the greatest impact.
  9. Yes, but the guy was referring to farm system rankings (which is what the preseason link was), which the prospect point system is not, which is expressly stated in the article. And I never did hear about those other places that have the Brewers ranked in the lower half of farm systems... Do you know how to read? In both articles it says the same thing in the beginning, so its consistent.. From the march article "What makes an organization rank as one of the top farm systems in baseball? Simply put, it's a combination of quality and quantity. The MLBPipeline.com staff ranked the Top 10 systems in the game by considering which organizations have an abundance of elite-level prospect talent as well as depth, in terms of future big leaguers up and down the system. Prospect Points are determined by awarding a team 100 points for the No. 1 prospect on the Top 100 list, 99 points for No. 2 and so on, down to one point for No. 100. Points are then tallied by team. Brewers had 292 points (5th) From July article, "Prospect Points 100 points to the team with the No. 1 prospect, 99 to the team with No. 2 and so on down the line, below are the teams' ranks in terms of "prospect points. We've been using our Prospect Points system for some time now, not as a true guide of which organizations have the best overall farm systems (keep an eye out for a new Top 10 farm system rankings soon), but to give a sense of who has the potential to have the most impact talent. Assign 100 points to the No. 1 prospect (Moncada), 99 to the No. 2 (Rosario) and so on down the line to one point for the No. 100 prospect (Tigers pitcher Beau Burrows)." Brewers had 144 points (19th) Everyone was celebrating and talking how this team had a top 5 minor league system, but now that they score them out of the top 15th, then it doesn't count.. smh
  10. Um, no. Check the mid season link again and you'll see that your not understanding the point of the article, but why let facts get in the way. Frankly, you are either at the point where you are willfully misleading and doing nothing but trolling or you just can't comprehend what you are reading which pretty much negates anything you have to say (either way). Maybe you should check the facts. This article ranks the Top prospects based on a points system., I believe this thread is about TOP PROSPECTS. Brewers TOP PROSPECTS had the 19th highest amount of points for TOP PROSPECTS. Just because we feel different about the TOP PROSPECTS doesn't mean we are trolling or "throwing hate". Check the facts of the new ranked updates from Keith Law, BP, BA, and MILB. ALL of them have the top brewers prospects falling back and out of the top 50 or 100 (other than Brinson). There were 8 new Brewers just put into the top 30 Brewers rankings for MILB and two of them in the top 10. Did the new 8 draft picks get put in that ranking because they are soooo good, or because our top prospects have under performed and underwhelmed? According to all the scouts and the ranking between all 4 sources, it is the latter. I posted this already, but according to Keith Law, look at the guys who have dropped With that, I have the espn Insider have access to Keith Laws prospect updates. Brewers ranked in the top 50 for April and July as well as the top 100 he created in January January 2017 ranking(top 100) - April Rankings update(Top 50) - July ranking update(Top 50) Ray 34 - 27 - NR Brinson 38 - 31 - 30 Diaz 41 - 30 - NR Burnes - NR - NR - 38 Clark - 67 - NR - NR Erceg - 70 - NR - NR Hader - 71 - NR - NR Ortiz - 79 - NR - NR Woodruff - 100 - NR - NR According to BA February - May - July Lewis Brinson - 27 - 20 - 16 Josh Hader - 33 - 61 - 31 Corey Ray - 42 - NR - NR Luis Ortiz - 79 - 67 - 73 Brandon Woodruff - 82 - 74 - 43 Isan Diaz - 93 - NR - NR do yourself a favor and look at BP and MILB and see how those guys have dropped from those scouts as well. This includes plenty of guys that have graduated from the prospect list, so most guys should rise on that situation alone, yet this system has shown the opposite. This thread feels like the White house.. If you don't agree, I guess it is fake news, and we should blame Obama (aka Melvin). Go Crew!
  11. according to the new MILB Pipeline the Brewers are now the 19th ranked minor league system.. Say what you want about the players struggling this year, but the scouts and experts have taken notice. A lot of guys have dropped out of top 50 or 100 lists and the overall ranking of this team has significantly dropped and this is from only losing one top significant prospect from the list in Hader. I'll listen to the scouts and people who know what they are doing. Its been a disappointing year, especially for the top end of our prospects http://m.mlb.com/news/article/244152682/yoan-moncada-tops-2017-midseason-prospect-list/?topicid=151437456
  12. "You have No marbles,.....Huhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"
  13. After what the White sox just got for a controlled starter, there is no way in hell Beane would accept that. He is looking for something similar to the Quintana trade and i don't blame him.
  14. So the Cubs have officially depleted their minor league system and no longer have any top 100 prospects. All for a guy they rented for a month (Chapman) and for a pitcher who is no more than their #3 on a struggling pitching staff. Talk about desperate. I would have been irate if we gave up Brinson and another top player for Quintana. He is over rated IMO. Please let me know how getting a #3 pitcher helps out their struggling offense and terrible defense. If we are giving up top prospects like this, it better be an Archer/Stroman type. Looking at the Cubs, knowing they had Eloy Jimenez yet to come up made me upset and jealous. This will be a trade they will regret in a year or two. This guy will be a 40+ hr masher with a great BA and OPS. Thank you Theo for getting desperate. Eloy was destroying field light bulbs in the homer run derby and during games. some serious power.
  15. With that, I have the espn Insider have access to Keith Laws prospect updates. Brewers ranked in the top 50 for April and July as well as the top 100 he created in January January 2017 ranking(top 100) - April Rankings update(Top 50) - July ranking update(Top 50) Ray 34 - 27 - NR Brinson 38 - 31 - 30 Diaz 41 - 30 - NR Burnes - NR - NR - 38 Clark - 67 - NR - NR Erceg - 70 - NR - NR Hader - 71 - NR - NR Ortiz - 79 - NR - NR Woodruff - 100 - NR - NR It will be interesting when MILB updates there top 100 but from the update ranking between BP, Law, and BA. It seems a lot of scouts are down on Ray. Keith Law was the biggest fan out of those three scout sites before and after the draft. Having Law drop Ray out of the top 50 says alot. For people who don't have access, Burness is right behind Mckay (first rounder from Louisville by Atlanta) and right ahead of Gohara (ATL) and Triston Mckenzie (stud pitcher for the Indians). Seeing him ahead of Mckenzie puts a smile on my face because I know a lot of scouts love Mckenzie and myself view Mckenzie as a future TOR pitcher (Carolina has faced him twice these year and he dominated them both times).
  16. LMAO.. this is probably the same guy that watches college football highlights of players and then thinks he does scouting on College football players for the draft. Get out of your parents basement and do actual scouting or get a job..
  17. Crazy how things can change in a yr. Last yr this organization looked like they had a big issue with no real players at the corner positions throughout the whole organization.. which now days is usually middle of the order hitters, they are crucial for competitive teams... Flip it to this yr. In the majors the Brewers now have two 1st basemen that have had great moments and field their position above average in Thames and Aguilar. Aguilar in his last 45 games (is batting .327 (37-for-113, 7hr, 27rbi) over his last 45 games. Not bad for a waiver claim). At 3rd Shaw is considered an MVP candidate and has been the most consistent player on this team.. Pretty remarkable seeing the Red Sox only viewed him as a platoon player. On top of that, this guy has dealt w/ a lot personally with his new born this year. Highway robbery how we got him and how he has performed. And all three are getting paid extremely cheap other than Thames who is still a deal. In the Minors the Brewers have drafted a top 10 organizational prospect in Erceg. He has done well so far and now former 1st rounder Jake Gatewood is having a great yr and will definitely rise up the prospect list. Either this year is a magical one hit wonder, magic carpet ride. OR Stearns is a genius and his FO has quickly turned this franchise around.
  18. The brewers top 100 prospects prior to this season were: Brinson - 27 Hader - 33 Ray - 42 Ortiz - 79 Woodruff - 82 Diaz - 93 big riser was Woodruff and the big drop was obviously Ray.
  19. I have a feeling you're the guy that gets mad when people stand on third down too
  20. Cravy is garbage and he wasn't right. He's a filler and nothing more so the fact you care this deeply about him is astonishing. Milone/Marinez/Feliz are all in MLB still and for good reason. Where's Cravy sitting with his unimpressive stuff? How's that 1.5 whip and 5 ERA working for him? But yeah, he was right. You want grown men that cry and throw a fit when they don't get something they "deserve"? Yikes. I'm on board with that if they're allowed to be treated like children as well....because that's what children do. Showing "spine" isn't talking your boss. It's not difficult to express disappointment in a decision without acting like an entitled - one can still be upset and mad about the position they're in. I find it funny u never brought up the fact he has pitched in Colorado Springs the last 2 years and that never helps the stats out.. something u make a daily point on your posts when backing up Hader to be a starter... sooo, Colorado Springs must only effect some pitchers in your mind.. smh.
  21. And Jason Rogers has now been cut from the Pittsburgh Pirates.. is official, the deal for Supak and Broxton was highway robbery
  22. Carolina left 24 guys on base.. this team is so frustrating to watch... Good to see Harrison step into this lineup and have continued success.. Isan Diaz has now sat out three straight games... Hopefully, that is an ego check to get his **** straight, especially after he get ejected for the third time this yr on Sunday.. He is still my favorite positional player in the system, but now with Keston Hiura in the system, he has some serious competition for the future 2nd basemen of this franchise. Hiura swing is even more pretty than Diaz.. not alot of swing and miss, unlike Diaz.
  23. Anyone hear any update on him.. he's gotta be getting close you'd think
  24. Have you watched him pitch this year??.. He has been struggling to control all his pitches.. So walks and Whip stats should be thrown out the window because he can't control his fastball or his slider? Those stats represent his inconsistent control, hence why he is going to the pen(for now). and don't tell me its all about CS.. he hasn't controlled either home or away. He is dealing with AAA hitters now, and not everyone is chasing his slider outside the zone like they were in AA.. These inconsistencies along with only having 2 pitches(he rarely throws his change-up) is a concern for a guy people think is going to be an TOR starting pitcher.
  25. http://www.crawfishboxes.com/2017/6/12/15778410/mlb-draft-profile-keston-hiura-2b-of-uc-irvine-ncaa-tommy-john-astros-big-west Good article on Keston Hiura
