Another thing, for all we know, maybe there was animosity brewing between the organization and Counsell for a while, and that played into his decision. Maybe Counsell was getting sick of their penny pinching?

That is a life changing situation that very few people experience in their lives. So no, they can't possibly know what decision they would make, until it happened. Too each their own.

Absolute statement? Hardly lol. Until someone is in the SAME situation Counsell was in, people can't truly know what decision they would make or not make. That's just reality and common sense. Just like people who say winning the lottery wouldn't change their morals. There's no way they can know that until after the won.

In today's world? I agree to disagree then. Very few people anymore, seem to give a rat's butt how their actions/decisions look to others, nor how others feel about their decision. I'll definitely root against him and the Cubs, but I'm not gonna hate someone over it. It's only a sport. Lol professional sports are not life or death for fans.

He definitely didn't have any control though, with what team was gonna offer him that kind of $$. It just so happened to end up being the Cubs. So can't really fault him for that really.

I completely understand your point, and I'm loyal like that too. But, I'm pretty confident that you don't make millions per year, so unless you're in the same position, I stand by my statement, you can't possibly truly know if you would or wouldn't make the same decision. Plus, pretty sure your wife wouldn't be happy if you turned down extra millions. Lol

I agree that $$ isn't everything, but that still doesn't make me believe that you wouldn't make the same decisionhe did. Lol unless you're in that situation, you can't honestly know that you wouldn't.

Rooting against him is 1 thing. Hating someone though, just because they took the $$ to go to a different team, is immature imo. All.of us would have made the same decision he did. I take sports just as serious as most die hard fans do, but I also realize that it's ONLY a sport, and nothing to hate people over. Lol Win or lose, our lives will STILL go on. Lol trust me.

Ummm...I already said it sounded like a plain Jane vanilla answer pretty much every head coach says when they're being interviewed during the first game with their new team. What did he say, that you find so offensive towards Milwaukee/Brewers?

Wiemer has an absolute boatload of talent, so getting reps in AAA for a while couldn't be a bad thing. If they traded him, and he ends up being a perennial All-Star in a couple years, you would regret your opinion. Lol it's happened with many other young players that teams gave up on way too soon.

To me, what he said sounded like a pretty "vanilla" type statement, instead of a dig on Milwaukee and/or the Brewers. Lol I think some people just hate him so much, they completely misunderstand what he meant.
