  1. I like the deal more and more, as no one else seems to like it at all.
  2. I like every .400/.500 AAA catcher you can find. I don't see many teams giving them up without overpaying, however.
  3. Shaq might find his youth playing 24 minutes a game. Risky move, as the suns were really good before, but it could easily lead to a title. The Suns have plenty of offense without Marion, and Nash plays 36-40 a game, or at least will in the playoffs. They'll find someone to play 8-12 minutes just fine.
  4. I believe it was Ginger that garnered so many positive comments at the game I attended about her appearance. Long legs, short shorts.
  5. Drugs are only effective in moderation, legal or not. That's quite a cocktail, and needless to say, cost him his life.
  6. I'd have to agree on LePay's fake excitement level. He's Matt V without the inappropriate sitcom bits. The whole point of broadcasting is to relay what is going on. Raising your voice is fine, yelling is not.
  7. How do you get 10 cents reloaded back into your account?
  8. Mass, I don't think babe pics are allowed here.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. He's always been a short reliever, and those guys are usually used for an inning, or for an inning plus a batter. He does throw a lot of pitches, but that isn't a huge deal...a guy like Maddux throws 13, and a guy like Derrick will throw 17 per. There certainly is not enough history to know how he would perform, but when he's on, he could easily go for another inning. I see Riske and Gagne being the 8th and 9th inning guys, so the rest will have to work itself out.
  10. Any of the guys can be a 2-3 inning middle man. On the rare occasions in the NL a reliever goes more than 2 IP, a guy like Mota or Turnbow easily could. In fact, given how he performs poorly with 0 days of rest, I think Derrick would be a very good guy to use for multiple innings.
  11. The Biz of Baseball feels an ump is a member of the KKK, based solely on the weak and oddly worded press release by the union. As with many issues the player's union fought for and later said "who cares", I have no doubt if there is an ump being protected, the others will be so furious that the union will back down soon. Unions are, by definition, only in business to serve its members. If they start worrying about a minority instead of the vast majority, it will become worthless ASAP.
  12. He has almost no trade value at all. If SD wants him, I would assume the Crew would take a player or cash for him and not bring him back. You can pretty much name all the 5-7 guys in the majors on one hand. His ceiling is so limited, if he has more value elsewhere, the polite thing to do is to leave him there.
  13. Lugo is very likely at his ceiling, but had a nice year with the A's.
  14. I think very extensive background checks should be done on all umps and MLB personnel. If they don't want to be under such scrutiny, there's the door, Johnny.
  15. I really enjoy catfish. I usually get haddock though, as it's economical.
  16. I signed up for the 10 cents thing, I've got 10 cents in my account. Whoo-hoo.
  17. I'd say another lefty might be a deadline addition. No room at the inn now, and Stetter is a possibility as well.
  18. It's tough to argue with the 2006 interleague mark. What was the 2007 record?
  19. I know a lot of people who have moved because they thought the city in which they lived would magically transport them to happiness. Never works. If you're happy in Racine, you could be happy in Knoxville, Tucson, or Tulsa. If you're not, you won't be.
  20. I'd just prepare for the inevitable rush of college-aged girls, and beating them off with an imaginary stick.
  21. I found a Carolina Mudcats T-shirt at Goodwill about 2 decades ago. It's a dandy place to go if you are not in a hurry and aren't picky about the brand name and such, Goodwill is a fine place to shop. If you have a 5 year-old who needs play clothes, it's perfect.
  22. What's really funny is when one team has to take a timeout with say 15:20 left, as they are on a bad run and feel the need to stop the clock and discuss things. So, they'll inbound it, the other team knocks it out of bounds...and they'll be another timeout called. Once, the Badgers played a long time with no stoppages, and the first one wasn't taken until about the 11 minute mark, and the 2nd one at about 10:45.
  23. I think one of the 20's in both college and pros have to be taken in the 1st half.
  24. The Brewers 5-10 prospects are not good enough to get Santana. Any deal would have to start with Parra, Laporta, and then some of the Gallardo/Carlos already in the bigs guys...not to mention, Laporta cannot be dealt until June. Gallardo or Carlos might be as good as Johan the next 5 years and cost a fraction as much. I simply have no interest in mortgaging the franchise on a single arm, regardless of how good he is.
  25. Again, best of luck to Corey, but he still can't play baseball. That's a sign you are not going to be playing baseball for a living.
