  1. Many teams struggle versus LHP, that's why you'd prefer a balanced rotation, in a perfect world. However, there are not 60 LHSP's good enough to start. As for the batting order, again, you'd like to be balanced. But, 8 Ryan Brauns would score a lot of runs, and they'd all bat RH. Quality beats side preference, but if you have a choice between a 800 OPS LH or an 800 OPS RH, most would choose the LH for the Crew.
  2. Yorvit is serviceable enough, but he does not seem to be an upgrade from Estrada, and no cheaper either.
  3. If two guys get hurt, I'm sure he'd be happy to play and give up an intended redshirt. I just don't get the appeal of a wasted freshman season.
  4. Well, I'd sure rather have a 5th year senior year from him than this current year, when he'll play about 50 minutes total, barring injuries of course. For him, I really don't get it at all, I can't believe he'll graduate in 4 anyway.
  5. 1000 seems like a ton, but if you have your own coach hitting them, I suppose 12 or so a minute is possible, that's be about 2 40 minute sessions.
  6. Many? He might not get any minutes in many Big 10 games. It's impossible to see him in an 8-9 man rotation.
  7. I would prefer a LH bat as well, but a good hitter is a good hitter.
  8. No doubt there'd be a lot more upsets if games were 5-10 minutes long.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Good to see even the kid added to the team got to play. Sadly, Jarmusz decided playing about 50 minutes total this year was better than being a contributor as a 5th year senior. I s'pose it is hard to think long-term when you're 18.
  9. Mass, all the pitchers link to Hammond. Thanks for the attempt though.
  10. Temke, mine is checked, and I still get them about one per hour, as I said. That said, if I avoided the team site, I might just get one all day.
  11. Starters need to play to improve as well...I have no problem with them playing <30 minutes.
  12. I gte popups several times a day on Firefox, and I have another pop-up blocker too. Netflix is by far the most common.
  13. Rivera's AAA numbers speak for themselves, both in '07 and career. He simply gets out far too much.
  14. As I said on Ramblings last night, I like LoDuca more than his numbers, as he's played in pitcher's parks his whole career. Even last year he was very good on the road.
  15. I think Robert said once Zips is usually the most pessimistic and the most accurate. I would agree on both counts, though they almost always miss the breakouts, which to me, is why projections are made.
  16. Jarmusz is probably at least considering it, or he would have played. There's little doubt he should, as he is a "role player type" who would likely benefit from maturity and extra time. I wish Hughes would have last year, though if last night is any indication, he might not be a 4 year guy anyway.
  17. Zips was very negative last year and it worked for them. However, they looked silly with Hart and Hardy's improvements.
  18. Allow me to say I have not fit into an adult small since 3rd or 4th grade...maybe 5th.
  19. Scott is a fine hitter, but despite being a decent defender, does not seem to fit in with the "athletic" guy Doug is looking for. He'd be a nice fallback however.
  20. I agree with MS, the two gys that require comp we might sign are our own guys.
  21. Krabbenhoft would struggle if he had to defend smaller, quicker guards. Any injury in the guards corps could be devastating.
  22. Baldelli would be a nice guy for the Pirates to pick up, as they finally begin to rebuild the right way.
  23. Baldelli hasn't had anything but throw in value to me in ages, and still doesn't. He reminds me of Chris Snelling, lotsa talent, but no health. I don't want Snelling either.
  24. Bourn is a pretty good prospect, and Geary is a bullpen arm. The bad thing is, this weakens HOU, I assume, because they will now move Pence to RF, when they could have added a mediocre corner OF who was better offensively. I do not think Lidge and Philadelphia are a very good match.
  25. That would free up some Astros relievers, who were very good, if memory serves.
