  1. They've sold 1100 SRO's thus far, up from 800 a day or two ago. I would guess it will be a 45K+ amount.
  2. I don't think Ned has changed at all. He's just managing to the situation a bit more because the team is in contention. Dave Bush was unable to get through the 7th inning the other day, but he had to use the bullpen that extra frame. As for going to the mound, it doesn't take a pitching coach to say throw strikes. Carlos is probably spent until Friday now because it took him so many pitches to get through 2 innings. Claudio aims for the black almost every pitch...there's nothing wrong with a corner, or dare I say, the outside third of the plate. Rickie has simply been Barnwellishly bad the past couple weeks. I think he's still hurt, they say his mechanics got messed up when he was hurt, whatever. Maybe a few days in the cage will help, or maybe he'll admit he's still in pain if he has to take 200 swings a day in practice. That's why we have Tony and Craig.
  3. DH, how do you figure Estrada will get two days off in a row? There's no day off this week. The Brewers are just lucky to have 2 fine catchers like they do, most every team has a black hole as a reserve, except the Twins, and maybe the Pirates.
  4. This usually happens once or twice a year, and I've never heard of problems.
  5. They are probably close to doing that, especially with a DH on 7/28. Graffy taking fly balls in the OF might be a sign they are thinking of that as well.
  6. It's amazing how well Graffy is hitting right now...I'd think he'd be a solid 2B for many contenders. Heck, he might be for us...Rickie is probably a combo of unhealthy or slumping enough to justify him not playing anymore than 2 out of 3. If things continue, which I would doubt, Graffy and Counsell might be playing 2B in September.
  7. I don't think Lo is an every day SS if JJ were to go down, not much moreso than Cirillo is. He did not have much range when he was a kid.
  8. As a bonus, the CPK pizzas are very good for you, as far as pizza goes. Paper thin crust, only about 900 calories in the whole thing.
  9. I wouldn't dream of allowing him on my team, and I'm sure many NFL owners feel the exact same way. I would much prefer losing without him than winning with him.
  10. As already stated, if MIN calls and asks for Dillon to add to the 25 man, he'll be there that night. He is not a prospect, at best, he's a role player. Doug would take cash or another veteran to fill out his AAA roster.
  11. I think they still would be if the price was right. For just PHing and platooning, Mench and Gross are fine, but in case of injury, Kenny would fit in perfectly. But, I'm sure he'll be worth more to some team with a crappy OF.
  12. AS far as the fact there were more suites "back in the old days", you still have to have tickets to be in the Gehl Club or other such replacements. You have to also remember that suiteholders get X amount of tiks, but can buy more if they wish, 8-10 I think. That alone can add what, 600-700 more in attendance that is completely out of the Crew's hands.
  13. I have also got tiks to a sold out game just before, I've been told they were group returns.
  14. Often times group tickets are returned a day or two before the game as well.
  15. Bedard's not going to be moved, he's Sheets/Yo quality.
  16. Lofton would be a 2 month rental...no way he's going to get TEX a decent major league SP like Vargas, who won't be a FA for a year or two.
  17. Heh, many complain when the roof is closed when it's 45 if the sun is shining. I can only imagine the outcry if they closed part of it at 70-80 degrees.
  18. He's made very play and also played many balls in the gap and down the lines into singles by getting to the ball quickly and throwing it to 2B accurately. He certainly will never win a Gold Glove, but he's been oodles better than Lee, and Carlos was adequate.
  19. Those numbers look a lot like Suppan's. Oswalt comes over here, folks will be demoting him before his first start.
  20. Sosa is a poor defender at best, while Mench has done a fine job in the field. He's a DH at this point, or a LF on a team with little offense.
  21. Club seats are often the last to sell, as they are expensive and 3rd level.
  22. Both JJ and Rickie have been struggling, and to be honest, JJ did not have much time off for the break, at least not mentally.
  23. I think it's very funny Dillon's went for the most.
  24. I would agree Parra is trade bait, he's a relief prospect to the Crew, yet is a top LH SP prospect to others, I'm sure. Hence, he has more value to almost any other team. Also, other teams hear he's been hurt and shrug, while the Brewers may well see this as a window to move him.
  25. The best view in the place, according to many, is in the LF area right above the bullpen...people are often 3+ deep. There are similar areas in RCF as well, near the sofa for the "best seats in the house" promo. Personally, I'd grab a table along the 1B side near the rail.
