  1. With Braun and Yo up, a good rating will be in the upper half. That said, they may well rebuild it beginning next June with the comp picks.
  2. Other than a veteran OF for depth, I don't see any other moves in the cards.
  3. Salome easily, then Lucroy...Lou does not project any higher than a reserve, if that.
  4. Parra will probably get sent down after the game Saturday, as I have to figure that's why he's going in Game 1.
  5. My point was, very few guys with crappy OBP's are good MLB players...ditto for short RHP's. And Linsecum is good, but the good ones rarely stay healthy. I used to not feel this way, but you can't argue results.
  6. I love Tina Fey, and Lohan is still incredibly attractive. Lohan is not any more irresponsible than most 18-23 year-olds I know, she's just famous and gets caught a lot. Her folks are both disasters, so even if she went somewhere for guidance, it's unlikely she'd get good advice.
  7. No team will want to switch leagues, in all likelihood, all their rivalries would have to be built from scratch.
  8. Size is a huge factor with RHP's. Saying "other than size" is like talking about a hitter with "other than his OBP". You can almost name all successful short RHP on one hand...Pedro, Oswalt, and so on. Kirk Saarloos was a first round pick and he's never cashed in, just being a middling 10th/11th man on the staff.
  9. When realignment was discussed for the NL a few years ago, all the talk involved 4 4 team divisions in the NL. That's how they will do it, if both go to 16...it allows rivalries to build and hopefully evolve. 24 games with division foes (3 x 24 = 72) 6 games with other league teams (12 x 6 = 72) 18 interleague That was the list I recall best. I would assume they'd do the 4 division winners and a couple wildcards. The biggest complaints would be the teams that lost the Yankees and Red Sox as visitors the most. The game is so healthy, expansion is just a matter of time, the money is flowing and stadium issues are almost taken care of.
  10. I don't think Dye is even a tiny upgrade from our current LF platoon, and certainly not worth a solid reliever and a prospect.
  11. One of the keys when realignment was discussed was time zones. All the teams would be time zone compatible, as much as possible.
  12. I've never been a fan of Inman due solely to his height, or lack thereof. It's a steep price to pay, but we're in it to win it. Both Garrison and Thatcher are prospects with limited ceilings, and I think Wil is also limited, albeit for different reasons, as he's clearly talented.
  13. Are you suggesting he be removed because his leg is sore? If that was the case, he'd have been taken out of about 15 games after being drilled by foul tips. These guys are men, many probably take several Advil or Aleve every day to get through the 3 hours of game time, especially late in the season. JJ has been struggling as well for some time, and to me, he still looks "stiff" in the field, as if his back is not 100%.
  14. Estrada has obviously been struggling with his gait for a while. I'm not sure why people still expect the Crew to be forthcoming with injury news, when it benefits no one. We still have people insisting Hart was never hurt the entire month he was, even though Corey admitted it a week or so ago in a story about Weeks. All this does is put us at a 3 man bench for a couple days.
  15. Suppan is going nowhere. FA's would giggle at any MIL offers if Jeff was dealt after 4 months.
  16. But Nix can play CF well, and was rushed a bit, skipping AAA, or pretty much at least. Nix could easily be a 5th OF right now, while what do you see Nelson as?
  17. This isn't the first time he's been tested, I would leave him where he is.
  18. You see guys playing with hammy trouble often, there isn't much else you can do, other than take a month off. With Estrada's speed, or lack thereof, unless it pops, you really are not losing much.
  19. It could be a substance that is banned but still found in some muscle building stuff, especially if bought online or in Mexico. That seems unlikely, however.
  20. We almost got Phillips as well, when he was DFA'd.
  21. Actually, wasn't the Lasorda story in Moneyball?
  22. What's GRE? Real estate?
  23. Doug is looking everywhere for relief depth. The way he's been linked to almost all who may be available, it'll be interesting to see if he's able to make a deal that was not rumored.
  24. Geoff and Kevin are both here now, so yep.
  25. So, weaken the '07 team for the future? I don't think so.
