  1. I get that it’s a terrible game but what’s glaring is the lack of hustle this team has shown a couple of times tonight. Several of their defensive misplays were entirely due to a lack of hustle. Inexcusable for professional baseball. Inexcusable.
  2. Schoop is really struggling. He might need a day or two to get his mind right. Just a brutal start to his Brewer career.
  3. Braun fell asleep. At some point do the coaches tell Arcia to start crowding the plate and try to get hit by the pitch on anything inside.....I keep having visions of the scene from Bad News Bears when Buttermaker tells Rudy Stein to let it hit him.
  4. Even with the addition of O'Day and the presumed negative value his contract status might carry I still have a hard time believing that the ask from Baltimore was that expensive. It looks like the return is pretty light and could gave been easily matched by the crew. Maybe they didn't see Gausman as an upgrade. I guess time will tell.
  5. Seems like the price Atlanta paid wasn't that bad. One top thirty prospect and three others. Did The crew let one slip away?
  6. After seeing what the Braves paid for Gausman I'm surprised that they couldn't best that offer. From what I can see the Braves gave up their #15 prospect and some filler. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe the Brewers didn't like him as much, but it seems like the price wasn't prohibitive. Gausman has the stuff that could have been very valuable.
  7. Gausman has the kind of stuff to have an Arrieta like resurgence once he gets out of Baltimore. Depending on the cost I think it could hurt to lose out on him.
  8. So disappointing...........sigh.
  9. Is Gio Gonzalez an upgrade over what we have? I don’t think so.
  10. Or Woodruff for that matter. I’d rather look elsewhere. Harvey doesn’t do it for me.
  11. I love his defense but his at bats tonight show that he still has a looooooong way to go at the plate. He is lost. At what level do players get taught to have their back foot fly out on their swing? Little leaguers have better swing mechanics.
  12. Don’t forget we rolled out Yuni B during 2011. Escobar couldn’t be that bad, could he? Defensively that is.
  13. I like Dozier, but the target from the Twins should be Escobar. The versatility, production, and switch hitting he provides would be invaluable.
  14. This loss can be placed on many. The offense only scores one run, two looking K’s in the 9th but I just don’t get some of the managerial moves that were made. Bandy pitch hitting!? The use of Williams, Logan, and Lopez in the 8th. You could argue that CC went with three of his poorest relievers during that inning. Why not use Albers, who was up and ready in the 7th, or JJ, who’s been lights out, or even Knebel. I just don’t get it.
  15. In my opinion, if Williams is left in the game to finish the ninth they win that game. Barnes has been overworked. If Jennings is brought in to face Garcia in the tenth the Brewers also win. CC needs some help in how to properly use a bullpen. This is a game the Brewcrew gave away. So frustrating to watch.
  16. Trying to win it in the 14th I guess it didn't get that far. Really, i understand the bullpen choices were limited tonight but I just don't get it. Drake, Hoover, and Barnes being used and when they were used just confuse me. Drake and Hoover because of effectiveness and Barnes because of workload. Barnes has thrown 100 pitches in the past week. That's a lot of pitches for a reliever. Jennings not being used and the the other two being used before him make no sense. Jennings has a very good track record of success, Hoover and Drake don't have that track record.
  17. Unbelievable that Jennings was not used to face Garcia. The way CC uses his bullpen is more than frustrating. The Drake and Hoover moves just baffle me. Jennings is better than both in my opinion. Why save him? Someone please explain the rationale. Will our media ask CC some tougher questions concerning his moves.
  18. 1. Corbin Burnes 2. Keston Hiura 3. Brandon Woodruff 4. Brett Phillips 5. Luis Ortiz 6. Tristen Lutz 7. Freddy Peralta 8. Lucas Erceg 9. Trent Grisham 10. Taylor Williams 11. Corey Ray 12. Mauricio Dubon 13. Cody Ponce 14. Adrian Houser 15. Jacob Nottingham 16. Kodi Medeiros 17. Phil Bickford 18. Jake Gatewood 19. Trey Supak 20. Jon Perrin 21. Mario Feliciano 22. Nate Kirby 23. Zach Brown 24. Troy Stokes 25. Braden Webb 26. KJ Harrison 27. Josh Pennington 28. Bubba Derby 29. Jean Carmona 30. Carlos Herrera
  19. Not picking on you personally, but Arrieta stinks in Baltimore and goes to Chicago and becomes a star who people want to sign as a FA; however, Anderson goes from ARI to MIL, has a very good year and a half stretch, but "overachieved" and is due for regression. Why are players on other teams who improve later in their career stars who we want, but when Brewers improve they overachieve and are due for regression? I agree with this, but some Brewer fans have a Chicken Little complex. The sky is going to fall and our team will eventually lose, because, well, we're the Brewers.
  20. I understand that some don't see Archer as a true TOR but I think people need to really take into account how unbelievably affordable his contact is. He is one of the best bargains in all of baseball. I would love to add him just for that reason. It will be expensive. Santana, Burnes, and another piece is probably what it will take. That will sting but with the additions that have been already made almost require it. Maybe they go the FA route but Archer is too good of a pitcher and too good of a contract to pass up in my opinion.
  21. I was watching High Heat on MLB Network and Russo was interviewing Stearns. They discussed the recent moves. Braun to first was discussed among others. Paraphrasing here but it sounded as though Domingo will be playing in Milwaukee unless Stearns is blown away with an offer. He mentioned that some of the OF depth has minor league options available and that could help with the OF overcrowding. Russo asked about the rotation, Stearns replied that he was comfortable with the rotation and mentioned Chacin and Gallardo by name, which surprised me, Gallardo in the rotation is not very attractive to me. DS did mention that they are always on the lookout to improve the team and that ownership is supportive of adding to the roster. I know he isn't going to come out and say he's trading certain players but the more time that passes the more I wonder if Santana is staying put and the rotation is going to be what it is. Seems odd to add the pieces they did and let the rotation be what it is. Was Stearns just giving a smokescreen, trying to drive up Santana's price? I guess time will tell.
  22. Ok. I can see Barns because he pitched yesterday. Swarzak? I'd he nursing an injury? He didn't pitch yesterday.
  23. Can anyone please explain to me why Drake was pitching in the 7th inning in a one run game? Please!
