  1. Is this second half offensive slump the new norm for this team?
  2. I would at least look into this as well. Do you look for established talent (Archer, Fulmer, Stroman, Rodon) or do you try to trade for a prospect knocking on the door (Buehler, Honeywell, McKenzie)?
  3. Can't argue the fact that the bullpen to start the season was a huge mess, but I have no issue with how Stearns went about it. In the "rebuild" position the Brewers were/are in, there didn't seem to be a need to spend money that part of the team. Feliz was taken in hopes to become a deadline deal. Had he known that this team would even sniff contention, the bullpen would have been constructed differently. I would expect this offseason the BP will be a much higher priority.
  4. 1 down, 17 to go...
  5. I'll take 7-0 run please
  6. I think Hader will spend most of next year in the pen, but you have to try him out in the rotation. Right now, the Brewers don't have the SP to not give Hader a legit look for the rotation. And if Hader is in the bullpen full time, I feel like he would be much more valuable in his role right now than in the closer's role. Put him in during hi-leverage situations, for 1 batter, for 6 batters, or whatever the game situation asks for. That has more value than strictly the 9th inning. I don't understand why so many are unwilling to give Hader a look in the rotation. Sure he's been a phenomenal reliever, but he would have so much more value if he remained effective as a starter. He's been so much better with his off speed and control over the last month or so, those argument against him in the rotation are growing less and less valid. If it doesn't work out for whatever reason, the bullpen is the fallback option. I agree he deserves a shot at becoming a SP (and he could be a very good SP), but it's not that black and white. His 95-98mph fastball as a reliever will be more like 92-95mph as a starter. His fastball percentage is in the Bartolo Colon and Lance Lynn area, which I'm not sure is attainable for him as a SP. He may need to throw 5-10% more offspead pitches which are still a work in progress from a command standpoint. Hitters haven't seen him 2-3 times a game. There are still a ton of unknowns about Hader becoming a SP. It all comes down to his command of his offspead pitches. If he can consistently throw his slider for stirkes and toss in a change up every now and then, he will be in the rotation.
  7. I thought this would have been an obvious move. Really suprised a move hasn't been made already. We have had games where our whole bench has been used. I'd much rather call someone up and not use them, then have Susac or Bandy take any meaningful AB's.

  9. I'm very curious what they decide to do as far as rest goes. Do you really want a starter sitting on his can for 10-12 straight days? Might they go out and only throw like 60-80 pitches? Or play it like a normal game? Game 1 for the Dodgers is on October 6th. IMO, because they will get 4 days off, the Dodgers will be playing their full hand. I could see them limiting their pitch counts, but that bullpen is pretty good too. If Kershaw doesn't pitch in the Rockies series, he would have, at minimum, 12 days off.
  10. I agree with the 2014 K-Rod blown save vs. the Padres. I don't think I've ever seen an outing that deflated a team like that. Went from 1.5 games up (Aug. 27th) on the division to 8 games back (Sept. 28th).
  11. Agreed 100% with this. When you're in the playoff hunt, you need to call up anyone that could be a help to this team. If you're going do this platoon every night, call up a couple more positional players to cover yourself for days like Wednesday and Thursday. Susac (and Bandy) should not have any AB's this month.
  12. Rockies lose. Good we're still right there, but we should have a 1 game lead at this point.
  13. I'm pretty sure he was trying to get released, still would have collected a check for the season. Surprised Brewers brass didn't have the balls to release him. Just keep him and send him to the instructional league for the whole year.
  14. Yeah Drake and Broxton had bad games, but it should have never came down to that. The approach with RISP needs to change for anything positive to happen. It has been the main issue since the AS Break.
  15. Nothing but fastballs in. Where were the high fastballs to go with the curve. Pitch calling wasn't the reason for the loss, but it left a lot to be desired.
  16. Was thinking that too. Don't like Bandy back there. Well, it's either that or Susac who can make pitches right down the middle look a foot outside. Didn't have to double-switch Pina.
  17. Was thinking that too. Don't like Bandy back there.
  18. Just tough that our 4 games are vs. the Cubs and the Rockies have 4 vs. the Padres
  19. That AB vs. Greinke though... If he could just redo that.
  20. Knebel threw it away on a dribbler towards third. Tie game
  21. Now I'm sure their closer will be in. We will have to earn this victory with what's left in the pen.
