  1. You say this crap every time the Brewers are losing. That crap is base on the fact that they simply stop scoring after the 5th inning all season long. There's a reason they've never come back from a deficit after the 8th. They don't score. Don't take it out on me because the Brewers don't do their jobs very well. We have 27 runs in the 6th or later in the last 9 games (28 innings).

  3. Amazing how Nelson can look dominant and then have no control like that.
  4. Glad he got back-to-back days off to cool him down a bit.(kind of sarcasm)
  5. When you use xFIP which is pretty much better in every way than FIP it looks bleaker. Kershaw 2.72 Nelson 3.12 Anderson 4.48 Anderson has combined an unsustainable low BABIP with a poor FB%, a likely unsustainable low HR/FB and an unsustainable high LOB%. If Anderson continues to pitch the way he has this year he is more of a 4 ERA guy than what he has shown with his results this year. There are pitchers like this every season and almost universally they fall flat the next year, I don't expect much out of Anderson next year. My only issue is that it's not like Nelson has been this good before either. His FIP in 2016 was 5.12. Is Nelson's BB/9 this year sustainable along with his K/9? Yes, this is the pitcher everyone hoped he would be, maybe I'm being a little pessimistic, but I need to see it for at least a month in 2018 to fully believe this is the Jimmy Nelson we can expect every 5th day.
  6. He has to be close to his innings limit. The earliest we will see Burnes imo will be next June.
  7. The Red Sox went from a 90 win team to a 90 win team this off season. So 0 wins added from the addition of Sale. So yes if the Brewers got Bumgarner they would only improve by about 1 win as nothing else for the Brewers is changing and no this is not based on WAR. Now if you said Villar or Broxton would be replaced by Trout or a Harper level of talent then yes you would see a more dramatic increase in your expected wins. Positional players have more of an impact on a teams wins than starting pitchers for obvious reasons. Plus you are not replacing Garza for whoever Garza would be replaced by. Even moving down one pitcher to the next you are gaining at most 1 win over the season. Take 2011 for example the Brewers expected wins didn't change when they acquired Marcum and it only changed by about 2 wins when they acquired Greinke. That team without Greinke or Marcum was about an above 500 team with those two acquisitions it bumped the Brewers up to about an 88 win team. So they went from an 86 win team to an expected 88 win team and beat the expected by 8 wins mostly due to their offense was better in 2011 compared to 2010. So would the Brewers have made the playoffs if Sabathia wasn't traded for?
  8. Bill Mitchell‏ @billazbbphotog Newest AZL sleeper is #Brewers 17-yo SS Jean Carmona, just up from DSL. Brief look last night, but saw sparkling defensive play. Arcia comps 12:34 PM - 19 Aug 2017
  9. Interesting. I have PS Vue (La Crosse), and I get both FSWI and FSNorth (Twins/TWolves). PSVue for me is $35 with the FoxSports channels, MLB Network, NFL Network, NBA, BTN, etc. And you can add RedZone for something like $40. I also have it set to record every Brewers game in case I am busy doing something else. Cannot be happier having PS Vue.
  10. Not even close? Anderson has been the Brewers best pitcher for a year. If Chase's mph uptick is stays with him, that makes his curve and change up much more effective. I would feel more comfortable giving Nelson an extension, but I would say it's pretty close.
  11. His last outing, which was a one inning relief appearance, his fastball was 96-99. His stuff is back and probably better. I think he will be a bullpen arm that could help the Brewers next year. It will be interesting to see what they want to do with him.
  12. Off the top of my head I'd take Trout, Arenado, Harper, Goldschmidt, Altuve, Murphy, and maybe Saeger over him, but Votto is a complete player. Too early to put Judge up that high imo.
  13. I think a healthy mixture would be the ideal lineup. IMO having players like Brady Clark, Eckstein, Zobrist, Cain, Pedrioa, Walker, etc. are incredibly important to have in the top of the lineup. Having these types of players will reduce long offensive slumps like the Brewers were on a week ago.
  14. His .396 AVG and 1.088 OPS in his first 48 ABs isn't too shabby. Wish he wouldn't have pulled a Larry Sanders (for the Bucks fans) and quit on the organization.
  15. That's almost detrimental because now players take pitches that are borderline with the expectation that it will always be called a ball. The whole "foul off pitches until you get the one you want" is a dying aspect of baseball (at least for the way the Brewers are constructed). If you had an erratic up, I would think that players would be more agressive at the plate.
  16. Quintana hasn't been anything special beside his first game either. Hopefully he continues to regress while Jimenez continues to look like a superstar.
  17. Keston will be debuting at 2B tonight according to his Twitter Keston Hiura‏Verified account @Kestdaddy August 15th, catch me on the dirt 12:42 PM - 15 Aug 2017 from Beloit, WI
  18. Caden Lemons will be making his pro debut Friday! Chris Kusiolek‏ @CaliKusiolek Brewers/Giants with the usuals playing for both sides. Milwaukee rolling out the high school crop tonight; Caden Lemons debut on Friday 4:10 PM - 15 Aug 2017
  19. I would prefer Phillips as well, but they must not think he's quite ready despite tearing up AAA recently. If Villar stays hot and plays serviceable D, that will only add to his value as well.
  20. I'm not opposed to it, but you would think they would've tried this in a blowout game or something.
  21. A little OT, but with Walker playing 2B, Villar is starting in CF tonight.
