  1. Jon Heyman‏Verified account @JonHeyman if yanks/a's sonny gray talk drags on, don't be shocked in brewers get involved. they love their prospects, but they love gray, too. 12:44 PM - 31 Jul 2017 from Jersey City, NJ
  2. What would the Brewers look like if they were never in contention this year (assuming the same individual stats)? -Would Hader, Woodruff, and/or Jungmann be in the rotation? -Who would have had a better chance of seeing the majors (such as Dubon, T. Williams, Susac, Cordell, & Peralta)? -Who would be on the trade block? -Would Brinson and Phillips be seeing regular playing time? -Is there anything else that may have been different?
  3. Funny, sad, and hopefully not true.
  4. When they come from your farm system, they tend to get a longer leash. Also, Wily was awesome the second half of last year when he got called back up. Switching to the pen is different, so I'm sure he was given even more time. I would say that more time is up for Wily. At the very least, he needs a change of scenerary.
  5. I would think the Cubs, with Chapman, and the Indians, with Miller, are thinking it was worth it.
  6. Do you think the Brewers are contenders next year? I'm not trading assets right now for a player that may make a playoff impact for one year of his contract. Gray's price is high because of his talent and control. The Brewers will pay extra for a year in which they probably won't be contending. That's why I'm not wrapping my head around Gray. Who knows? Lots of money and prospects to make a lot of changes for next year. Also a lot of pitchers will be at AAA and Dubon should be ready to help out. If we are on the verge of competing now why can't we next year? Simply put, yes, I think the Brewers field an even better team after many additions before next season to be competitive. And they certainly could. You said it exactly right, who knows? I would like to see what Nelson, Anderson, Hader (maybe), Woodruff, and Burnes (maybe) can do next year before I look for external help. Once we have a better understanding, then we can go from there. I think that is a better senario than having Gray for next year only to see Nelson and Anderson decline and Hader is a bullpen piece. IMO, there are still too many unknowns to warrant a big trade for only 2 years of team control.
  7. Wily has been given a long enough leash. I am thinking, after his "injury", this was his his time to showcase if he brings any value to this team. That question has been answered.

  9. This is just as bad as your whole "disrespecting the game" crap you had to say when the Cubs pitched Jon Jay. It's no more disrespectful that trotting Peralta out there Rock.
  10. Source? This was the only place I found it. http://nypost.com/2017/07/25/the-yankees-prospects-as-covet-in-sonny-gray-sweepstakes/
  11. Suprised he didn't just show up, look at the scoreboard, and head back to Chicago.
  12. Suprised Blazek or Big Wily aren't on this list
  13. The worst thing for a small-market, rebuilding team is success too quickly. I give huge props to Stearns for staying the course. He is not delusional, he knows what this team is and what it can be in the future. He's putting his chips down on the future as opposed to risking the future to put band-aids on an average team.
  14. Oh come on. Stearns' fault that Blazek sucked? He was great in the CS rotation, he was the logical choice to get a start in a pinch. What would you have done? Nelson, Anderson, and Garza have all been better than expected out of the rotation. They're down 2 starters. I'm done with the excuses for Stearns. He can wear his mistakes just like anyone else. He failed to find quality arms for this pen. He has failed to make in season adjustments like allowing your best options at SP actually be in the rotation. He can wear his mistakes. He's a grown man. This will be another wasted season for the historic Milwaukee Brewers. I suggest stepping away from the keyboard for a bit. This team was expected to struggle this year and probably next year. On top of that, there are 2 SP on the DL. Woodruff would probably be pitching, but he's hurt as well. Burnes is almost at his inning limit. Should we throw money at Rich Hill for 3 years when we probably won't compete anyways? What are your expectations?
  15. Wow, getting ready for the dinger derby in Washington next year
  16. I would listen to offers for Knebel, but I'd need to be blown away.
  17. Isan Diaz has 20 errors already this year
