  1. x100... It is amazing how we don't appreciate a guy that turned 24 and is having a very good offensive year. Just continues to get better but a lot of fans just disregard him. Since May 1, He has a .316 AVG .400 OBP. At the age of 24, I think he is solidifying himself as a core player not a trade piece.
  2. Find a way to get Fulmer, Kinsler, and Justin Wilson.
  3. Tom @Haudricourt Stearns said when he woke up yesterday he didn't know he'd be making a trade. That's how fluid things are. 10:19 AM - 26 Jul 2017
  4. I disagree. If that was going to be the case Lewis Brinson would never have started...at least it would be very unusual for him to even start in that kind of situation. Exactly. Why would Brinson be in the lineup if it was that simple?
  5. And ironically with the Yankees he would be their number three starter. LOL...agree to disagree. I'd take Sonny's talent over either Tanaka or Severino actually. Over Severino? Really? I wouldn't go that far. But there is no way Sonny Gray is the Yankees #3 starter.
  6. Yep. Comparing apples to oranges. That's a bold prediction. Cahill's numbers are solid, but I keep expecting him to remember he's Trevor Cahill. He has a .72 ERA at "home" which is no longer his home. Only time will tell.
  7. This is my best guess as well. Yes, the timing is odd but that doesn't mean much. Probably just needing to meet to discuss who the moving parts will be. This would be my assumption except for the fact that Brinson played in the top of the first and then got pulled. Maybe I read too much into this, but Stearns seems to have everything mapped out. If the moves are strictly internal, Brinson isn't in the lineup yesterday. I just feel something unforecasted happened.
  8. Davies is 6-0 w/ a 2.83 ERA on the road (6-5 w/a 6.45 ERA at home).
  9. Yes indeed. I would imagine either Wily or Torres are on there way out. I have no idea for the positional side. Hard to image Brinson is getting called up again to ride the pine. Pretty interesting that Brinson was taken out in the 1st inning as well. You would think the F.O. would have just called him up without him playing in the top of the 1st if there wasn't an injury/trade coming.
  10. Corbin Burnes will be up next when someone graduates. Rosenbaum(one of the voters for said ranking) said Diaz/Burnes were literally back to back ranked. So rest easy Burnes will be a Top 100 prospect. And then the people that want 7 top 100 prospects as opposed to 7 top 102 prospects can sleep easy at night.
  11. Never hoped more for a twisted ankle of a player that plays on a team I root for.
  12. Heck of a game all around. Brewers even got some bloopers to fall in their way.
  13. I like the lineup. Braunie in the two spot is a good look. Davies against Harper, Zimmerman, Murphy, and then Rendon... scary
  14. His high A season sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of his minor league stats. Sub 800 ops, look it up. Very important, Braun put up sub- .800 HALF season in A+. And that was still .784. For the entire season he hit .871. While that may be lower than his other seasons, I would hardly call that struggling. Not disagreeing with you about Braun, but keep in mind he was 22 in A+. Clark and Diaz will turn/turned 21 during the season.
  15. I would put Peralta, Supak, Nottingham, and Stokes as showing good growth as well. The bigger names area bit dissapointing though (mainly Ray, Erceg, and Diplan).
  16. Knebels stock will probably never be higher. With what the power relievers can get back, I would be dangling his name to see what can be had. It's tough because the bullpen isn't a strength and at some point you have to keep players, but I like the idea. I'd imagine Honeywell isn't available, but the Rays have SP.
  17. Kind of frustrating. He did this last year, got called back up, and went on a tear. Now there are cf's lined up to play in the bigs. If he tears up AAA, I'd imagine he'll play to increase his trade value for the offseason.
  18. I knew he had a noodle for an arm, but wow is that bad. I would have figured Johnny Damon would've had the worst arm. I will never forget Manny cutting his throw off from 10 feet away
  19. Sogard is in Philly and Phillips is in the starting lineup. No roster move yet. Is Keon going to AAA?
  20. Yeah Ben Sheets made his whole career fastball/curveball.... he threw change usually around 10% of the time. He was never big on throwing it. As a starter having a curve or change to go with fastball is pretty important to keep hitters off balanced. Slider is a higher velocity pitch still that doesn't keep hitter off balanced as well over 2-3 times through line up. My thoughts exactly. A high fastball and a curve are a great combo because the start out in the same position for the hitter. With the mph difference, it becomes a guessing game. Sliders are maybe 5-7 mph difference whereas Curveballs are closer to 15 mphs.
  21. Baez and Rizzo are far better than anything the Brewers can field at those respective positions right now.
  22. Can Sonny Gray hit with RISP? Our starters ERA during this losing streak has been 3.32.
  23. I'm being realistic. I'm not one of those fans who just does a "rah rah rah" and ignores reality. It's fine for all of us to be optimistic about the future of our beloved Brewers while simultaneously acknowledging that some real problems exist. We're in year two of a five year rebuild. We're in first place in the division currently. We are at least one year ahead of schedule. Our farm system has been flipped from bottom five to top five in two years. Stearns has fleeced teams with trades, and has yet to deviate from his plan. Now if you're talking problems on the current team, yes there is, but what we're your expectations?
  24. Yeah this losing streak sucks, but our pitching staff has given up and average of 3.67 runs per game in the last 6. This is being done without Anderson and what I think would be an immediate upgrade, at least in the pen, of Brandon Woodruff.
  25. While I agree, don't forget he was the runner up to the Cy Young last year.
