  1. I would also say Pujols is worse than Zimmermann. Also, not quite up there, but Jason Heyward's contract is a rough one.
  2. Tom‏ @Haudricourt #Brewers, who picked up rental reliever in Anthony Swarzak, are monitoring rental starter tonight, Texas' Yu Darvish. 8:02 PM - 26 Jul 2017
  3. or you can reach for a ball on a 1-0 count and hit a lazy fly ball...
  4. They also have a nice bullpen ERA of 5.13 (almost a run worse than the Crew), so Gio's pitch limit is 175
  5. That 3-2 change was pretty nasty. I bet he doesn't see that everyday in AAA.
  6. I don't think thats close to enough, but I guess I have a tough time with how much value salary relief is for a team. I would think Brinson, Ortiz, Diaz, Dubon, lower end player.
  7. Also from the article in July: "We've been using our Prospect Points system for some time now, not as a true guide of which organizations have the best overall farm systems (keep an eye out for a new Top 10 farm system rankings soon), but to give a sense of who has the potential to have the most impact talent." It doesn't look at overall farm system talent, but rather who can have the most impact. These are not consistent and the Brewers have a far better system than #19.
  8. He had a bunch of injuries last year starting last May. His fastball velocity is down maybe 1-2 mph in the last couple of years, but it still sits around 93. He could be another bounce-back option, but man is that contract massive. If you can find a way to get Fulmer though, the contract looks less terrible as Fulmer is controlled through 2022 I believe. If there is ever a time to shell of a top prospect or two, this would be the situation imo. https://www.blessyouboys.com/2017/1/4/14169444/jordan-zimmermann-injury-update-detroit-tigers-2017-season "As disappointing as 2016 was, Zimmermann’s first month-plus did give the Tigers a solid glimpse of what he could provide when healthy. He posted a 1.50 ERA amid seven starts and started the year with three consecutive scoreless starts of seven, six, and 6 1⁄3 innings, respectively. His efforts had also earned him American League Pitcher of the Month honors for April, with a 0.55 ERA."
  9. Blazek will be starting tomorrow Milwaukee Brewers‏Verified account @Brewers RHP Michael Blazek will make the start tomorrow in Washington for the injured Matt Garza. #MILatWSH 4:10 PM - 26 Jul 2017 from Washington, DC
  10. "My God! That's Brandon Woodruff's music!!!!"
  11. Ageed. So did Garza slip in the shower and strain a leg muscle forcing Brinson to leave after the top of the 1st. Just a weird 24 hours with little information.
  12. haha, does that mean Verlander is coming? Maybe Gray?
  13. Which one... KatyPerrysBootyHole or WetButt23?
  14. His FIP is 4.21, DRA is 3.81, so that would indicate that he has gotten a little unlucky and maybe defense has hurt his ERA some. I do think moving to a contender would help his motivation. I still think Verlander would be a great pickup, but I also think figuring out a trade for him is going to be super tricky (much like it has been with Braun). I agree with the whole "motivation" factor. With the trade rumors swirling about him, he put up pretty good numbers. In his last 4 starts: 26.0 IP 2.77 ERA 28K
  15. If a trade is made, I believe the Tigers would be the partner as well. I think Wilson/Kinsler is safe, but I think Verlander or Fulmer would be in there too. Fulmer is a player worthy of a few high prospects.
