  1. Helps that Freese forgot to bring his bat to the plate.
  2. Why, at least it was close... Sedar sends guys that get thrown out by 10 feet. With one out the way they're hitting Suter, you don't send him.
  3. As much as I don't want to pile on the guy, I am right there with you.
  4. He makes Prince Fielder look like he has a cannon.
  5. Because most are major leaguers, and there is something to be said for that. They could turn it around pretty quickly That's not how Billy Beane rolls though. The A's don't retain players when they become free agents.
  6. We are 1 of 6 teams in the majors to have a winning record on the road. What are the hopes for this long roadtrip? 6 wins?
  7. I think it is safe to say our core players are not defined compared to the rest of the contending teams. This is the main reason why I think it's too early to make a big splash before the deadline. Too many unknowns at this point.
  8. There could have been a very good reason, as I outlined above. I think they may be holding Hader for outings where Suter pitches too. Nothing to back this up, but I think it makes sense with the different pitching styles and the propensity to not go deep in games.
  9. Agreed 100%. I can understand being cautious his first couple of week, but at sometime you have to see what you have in Hader. I really think he could be a huge asset right now, and he could be our Andrew Miller down the road (if he isn't in the rotation). The program he is on right now isn't helping out the team nor is it helping out Hader. Give him higher leverage situations and pitch him more than every 4th or 5th day.
  10. This can be said about literally the whole entire team minus Braun.
  11. And the bottom line for the A's is there in the driver's seat. Whether is the Brewers, Cubs, Indians, Yanks, Astros, etc. going for Gray, the A's have 2 weeks to wait for the best offer. Gray has 2.5 years of control, so they don't even have to trade him this deadline. This year he has shown to be back to the normal Sonny Gray, so the price is going to be steep. Stearns has to decide if Gray is worth taking a chunk out of the farm system, and personally I think it's too early to do that.
  12. And if your going to give Torres 2 innings, give him the 6th and the 7th (not the best idea, but better than throwing Schiller out there).
