  1. Your last statement could be said about 40 times a game in the IGTs. I think some of the Brewer fans are harder on the team than any tv talking head.
  2. Brewers are definitely showing that Fox/MLBN don't know how to promote this team. Chicks dig the long ball, so you often get promotion of big home run hitters and stud starting pitchers. Brewers have neither. It's no excuse, but it's gotta be harder to bill a matchup between Verlander and...a bullpen, or Manny Machado vs Orlando Arcia (two of the three guys who have hit three homers this postseason, Judge is the third). I'm just enjoying the hell out of this.
  3. I don't understand your question. Are you complaining about attendance? Were you seeing empty seats from where you were in the stadium? I've done standing room, and it sucks. I'm not very tall, and it's just not easy to see. It feels like I'm a kid trying to sneak in, ushers always moving you. I wouldn't go to a game unless I had a seat, especially for $100 bucks.
  4. Not quite optimistic. Brewers in 6!
  5. Went back and checked. First pitch of the seventh inning happened at 5:07. Seventh and eighth have taken 1:12 so far. Agonizing.
  6. Papi was so painful to watch try to form a sentence. I would have offered him $1000 on the spot to name a Brewer, and I don't think he could have done it.
  7. I would love to be a season ticket holder, but I travel an average of 40 weeks a year for work. The end result is that I have seen as many Brewer road games as I have seen home games over the last 6 years. Saw them three times in St. Louis this year and happened to be in Denver this week so I flew out early to make the Sunday game. Just frustrating to see prices over $400 for a single baseball game. Not dropping a grand to take my son to a game. If I could buy tickets with airline miles or hotel points...
  8. Man, these prices are killing me. I got Club seats for the divisional series at $90, and got a club seat in Denver for Sunday's game for $110. I messed up and missed the presale for the NLCS, and standing room for $120 (before stubhub fees) is crazy. In 2016, I got a standing room ticket for Cubs/Giants playoff game for $50. In SF, the most expensive city in the country! By the way, that game went 5 hours and 13 innings and as an old guy, I was exhausted.
  9. Brewers should just win it in four, then. Simple.
  10. Don't the advertisers buy the "spots" well before the teams are determined. I don't see how the broadcasters or networks really care about the market of the teams involved. No, they may commit, but final price will be driven by expected viewership potential. Larger the ratiing and share potential the more they will pay. Advertisers and nets know that and price accordigly And the other part is if you don’t deliver all of the rating points you promise, you often have to run “make-good” spots for free to deliver them.
  11. Holy crap, I’m cold. Wind blowing, I’m underdressed. It feels like it’s gonna snow. There was discussion on radio that the Rockies would have an advantage since Milwaukee is a dome team.
  12. My flight landed on time and I’m having a coffee about four blocks from the stadium. Definite nip in the air. I’ll go again tomorrow; hope I don’t have. Go Brewers!
  13. Last night was such a blast. At the game with my son, nice people around me who understood the game, lots of high-fiving. I have been able to be calm. Pack's loss to Seattle was my turning point. Just said that I couldn't let a game affect me that way. It's easy now to be positive. I have a friend who is unpleasant to watch a game with because of his "glass half-empty" point of view. It's just as easy to envision something good happening as it is to predict the worst. Requires effort. For some reason, last night I said to my son, "I better get my phone out, because Kratz is about to get a hit." He hit the two-run single on that pitch, and I have a cool 15-second video of it. Flying to Denver for work this week. I moved my flight to tomorrow morning, so I can go to Game 3. Can't wait.
  14. As soon as Suppan threw the first pitch, the scoreboard would mark four runs for Colorado.
  15. Tix in my section for Friday were asking for $339 last night, $239 this morning. On another note, I am in Denver on business next week. That means, if I decided to delay paying a few bills, I could go to games 1-4. Think I will settle for 2 and 4 (if necessary). If I could just figure out a way to make the ticket cost show up as dinner for the purposes of expense reporting...
  16. Difference from those three year-to-year (429 to 314): 115 Team total difference year-to-year (1571 to 1458): 113 So you were WAY off.
