I’m so happy. Didn’t sleep well last night. I think it was Kugler who said that every player on the roster had a moment and that is pretty much true. I don’t get hung up on MVP awards, or all-star snubs. I was glad that Contreras was the MVP, but they could have given it to Chourio, Ashby, or Pratt and it would have been fine. I also thought that Turang getting the final out was poetic justice for his exemplary play. I had zero anxiety as it was rolling toward him. just so happy

What Does Going to the World Series Mean to You?

I am old enough to pre-date the Brewers in Milwaukee. I was a Cubs fan in 1969, and remember Jack Brickhouse calling games on tv. But when the Brewers came to Milwaukee, I transfered my allegiance. I have older brothers who could remember the Braves, but I didn't. So we were all-in on the Brewers. I believed that a team with Gene Brabender as an ace would be a winning team. I got a full-sized Phil Roof bat as a giveaway at a game. I was at the doubleheader sweep (https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIL/MIL197307292.shtml) of the Yankees when George Scott hit a grand slam in the 7th. The team was so exciting in the late 70s. 1982 I was in college and I thought after the game 1 rout that they were gonna do it. I lived in a lot of places in my life before settling back in Wisconsin. I drove to Anaheim from LA to see the return of Gorman Thomas to the team in 86. I saw them play the Yankees in NY. I have always been a Brewer fan. I was living in Cincinnati when the Reds won it in 1990 and it was so cool. I want to experience that again as a Brewer fan. I was able to score a ticket to tonight and game 2. My wife asked me why I would go sit with people I don't even know. I told her that we would all be best friends by the end of the game. I'd love to take family or friends, but funds are not unlimited. So, if you happen to be sitting next to me at the game, here's fair warning: I'm a hugger. I could go on forever, but I'm going to get on the road. Go Brewers! -

I believe that I am asked, as a fan, to form attachments to these players. Buy their jerseys, cheer them on. Then, I need to put those feelings aside and say, "No, you can't re-sign this guy. Don't pay for the decline." I can't do that. He is becoming a top-5 all-time Brewer for me. The video of him on the ground, telling Frelick to slide in Game 2 of the SD series is a favorite moment. I would love to see William extended. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. I'd give him 5 years. Tear up next year's contract (15.5 mil), give him 5/100 (essentially 4/84.5). Takes him through his age 33 season. Get him a 1B glove for a few games a year and plan on DHing him a little more after Yelich is gone.

Game 6 is the only game I don't have a ticket for. I'd be ok with Brewers in 6, because I will be a basket case if it reaches game 7.

World Series Hope in the future

Baseball already has a bunch of .500 teams. 20 of the teams were between .556 and .444 winning percentage, which is the equivalent of going 5-4 or 4-5 every nine games for a season. 14 MLB teams had the NFL equivalent of 9-8 or 8-9 records. NFL is legislated to have parity. MLB's 162-game schedule is its own self-leveling structure (perhaps that is a quirk you are referring to). As they say, you're gonna win 60, lose 60, it's what you do with the other 42 that makes your season. The Brewers had a dominant season, and their winning percentage is equivalent to 11-6 in the NFL. -
Hoping that Freddy turns back into a playoff pumpkin starting this weekend. He gave up 15 runs in 25.1 playoff innings the last three seasons for the Brewers. 5.23 ERA. 1-3 record. Would have been nice to get 16 innings of 0.75 ERA like he did for TB in the ALCS. Take all of his playoff innings back to 2018 and he has a 4.09 ERA for MKE (4.63 as a starter). Never pitched like a number 1 starter for the Brewers in the playoffs when they needed him to. Instead he gave up first-inning homers in two games against the Cubs. Game one they bailed him out with six in the first, but the 3-run hr in game 4 was awful. 4 runs in 5.2 against AZ in 23. Was given a 2-0 lead in game one against the Mets, gave back three the next inning, including the unforgiveable 2-run triple to Winker. Make him throw strikes.

Willson got 5/$87.5 from the Cardinals. Given William's competitive nature, I think he needs at least one dollar more.
