  1. Cubs top three hitters: 5 for 11, 3 runs scored. And they are still down 10-4. I like it.
  2. Do the Brewers have somewhere else to be? 14 pitches through two innings.
  3. At 87-66, the Brewers scenarios go like this: 6 for 2nd wild card. Colorado wins out, could get to 92-70, so Brewers need 6 to get to 93. 7 for the first wild card. Cards win out, would be 93-69. 13 for the division as of Thursday morning. Cubs go 6-4, Brewers need to go 9-0. 5-5, 8-1 4-6, 7-2 3-7, 6-3, but this brings the Cardinals back into play for the division at this point, so I will stop. Especially since the Cubs going 3-7 would be most likely predicated by getting swept by the Cardinals.
  4. Now within one. 6-5
  5. Cubs 20
  6. And mowing through the Brewers lineup. Because of course the Cubs can grab a crappy lefty off the scrap heap, and he suddenly becomes a lock-down late inning reliever. I know, the Brewers only grab guys like Chacin and Miley and turn them into good starting pitchers. I could go the other way and say only the cubs can pay $34 million in salary to two starting pitchers who’ve given them nothing.
  7. These guys are making quick work of it. Combined 65 pitches through 3?
  8. With BA's point about Davies being similar to a late-season acquisition, how would you have felt if Davies actually was here via a trade and this was his first start as a Brewer? Would you feel like it was a good pickup?
  9. Really awful throw. Trying to get Kratz killed. Glad to see Davies get out of the inning. Good work by him.
  10. I’m an occasional poster, persistent lurker. Has anyone in the Brewer’s org ever mentioned a six-man rotation, or is it just people who post here? Why does it keep getting brought up?
  11. Truth be told, I grew up as a kid on the West side of Chicago. Daddy was a cop, on the East side of Chicago, back in the USA, back in the good old days...
  12. I don’t know Lyles. Is a 40 pitch stint normal for him? Awful
  13. As a substitute, would you accept a bunch of guys worrying about holding the lead almost before Braun's homer lands in the seats? Because there's been plenty of that already.
  14. What’s going on? Gamecast hasn’t changed in six minutes. Two out, top 10th?
  15. Might as well try. The Pizza Ranch regimen he’s on isn’t working either.
  16. I would have loved to see the burst blood vessels in people's heads if the Nats had stolen some bases against Reyes. St. Louis might have been wiped off of the map if that had happened.
  17. I'm fine with not getting Machado. I just want it over so that the market gets set and maybe opens the gates for other deals to get done.
  18. Yeah but I'm not convinced Dozier comes all that much cheaper. Dozier will likely cost a fraction of what it costs to trade for MM. 99/100 is a fraction. 3/2 is also a fraction. What's your fraction in this case? 1/2? 2/3?
