  1. I was more in the camp of Peralta being a reliever but he may be changing my mind....and they may need that. I'm actually in the same spot and forgot we have jennings arby 4 next year so yeah. Houser Peralta can keep trying the starting gig for awhile. Lopez is already sitting 9th in the pen for 2019.
  2. Yeah that inning was a travesty. He was lights out. Big heat on the edges and a slider that can induce a chase. Knebel Albers Hader Barnes Williams Jennings Jeffress Suter 2019 will be filthy in the pen.
  3. Poor Williams painting the inside edge with 95+ and this happens...
  4. Sniper pitching... 3 strikes on a medium sized paper plate on the edge!
  5. Can't complain with Chase today. Zobrist got him... almora took one way outside for the other run.
  6. Even with that being the case... when he goes colder is completely self inflicted. His patience lags his strike zone expands you see his floor.
  7. Way too many little errors from him.... this is the area he has been fairly consistent, whether in the field or on the bases. He's very much gomez. Has to be hitting or the little constant mental errors kill his worth.
  8. Don't plate a guy on 2nd... lead off hr following. Baseball...
  9. Aren't you pro villar? I'm not but got to admit, he's off to a real solid start.
  10. I'm worried when he isn't destroying lefties. He's been ebb and flow this way for awhile. I am not a big fan and part of my criticism is that his strike zone discipline and patience at the plate wanes at times. It comes and goes. Watch the pitches he takes... its a huge inducator or where he's at. He's not good right now. When he spits on balls or takes on the edge he'll heat up fast in a big way. You'll see multi hit games. Its just a matter of time with him.
  11. Good thing those aren't the most important stats out there by any means. I will agree the defense has been putrid however. Except those are two of the areas we were told we were going to see significant improvement. And they actually are vitally important. Giving extra outs and not moving runners hurts a ton.
  12. Yeah I like cheap control, so I'd be fine with milking it a bit longer but I can't justify letting Suter mill about. His control is off, he's up in the zone way too much. The fangeaphs article on Woodruffs accuracy really shined a light on what I was seeing with him. The random pitches that were no where near where he wanted them. His stuffs good enough to make it work well enough but Burnes control is going to take him a long long way. I had him higher on my preseason board for that reason. I can see limping a bit longer... but Burnes needs to hit this rotation no later than June. He's ready. He's going to be sub 4 early in his career. He might not profile high, we don't know but being like Davies is very likely. When Davies is on he's pretty exceptional. I currently see Burnes as our 3rd best starter so whenever they want to start that control... by all means go ahead. Suter needs to get bumped to his long man role. Woodruff Chacin at 4-5 is much nicer. Nelson can bump the worst of those 2 when he's ready. I expect Woodruff to struggle for awhile still, kinda like Nelson... but Burnes is ready to roll.
  13. This... Burnes Kodi Brown Supak with great opening starts. Lopez holding down the closer role in CS makes me think he's matured... he was a disaster there before. Houser Williams (Peralta?) are great options in the future of the pen but Lopez might be cementing his spot on that list too.
  14. So starting a new job and networking is king... been thinking of fun ways to draw attention. I'm totally buying brewers cubs tickets and giving them away to people who have joined the FB Linkedin Twitter pages I'll be setting up. Crew fans who will GO to the game may only apply for the drawing.
  15. Pen era 2017... 3.85 Pen era to date... 2.09 Hader era in 2017 2.08 They been real good. Btw... real nice that with a stars out we still have a 1-5 that can carry this lineup...huh.
  16. 1.1... 23 pitches. He can go 1 tomorrow. Man we needed that one. Davies has to shake the April yips tomorrow or wear it.
  17. 4 balls to arcia... 2 swings... sure whatever it worked! These 3.2 2.0 1.1 2.0 pitching lines gotta stop! Davies.... Houser Drake Jennings Jeffress Barnes available tomorrow... did I miss anyone? But hey.... cubs aint 500... nor are we
  18. Reily... zbrown allowed 5 hits Zach Brown, Supak and Stokes with the good things. 6 tb 2 hits 4 rbi... stokes in mid season form.
  19. We really need a good start from Woodruff here. Win this one and Anderson Davies are much lower pressure starts. Woodruff really needs a strong 5 here.
  20. I think about the SD game where we didn't have knebel available and we seemed to fit our arms available to the batting order. I have no issues with this due to Hader being untraditional and not having a knock out closer option. If 9, 1--5 are up in the 7th 8th... let hader take them out and give anyone else 6-9 in the 9th.
