  1. Out. Trade aguilar for a ticket which shouldn't be hard to do.
  2. 26 27 28 29 30... it's literally the perfect age window. He hasn't been a bad player any year and he broke in at 22.
  3. Teams not trapped. If santana or braun can go 1b... you risk broxton and aguilar not having a spot. We likely will do a deal... we dont HAVE to do a deal.
  4. This was you yesterday on a different forum. Have you had gotten your fill yet? So he's admitted to being a troll. Sounds ban-able to me. Not a good look...
  5. Well aware. But where do you stack yelich cain v santaba broxton. 1 of 2 things is haapening. Braun 1b... aguilar flipped for a ticket... sign an arm Or Santana for an arm... broxton for a ticket... walker??? The offense isn't worse in either scenerio. Yelich cain > santana broxton
  6. And Yelich is an All-Star corner outfielder who is capable of playing CF, not an All-Star CF The addition of Yelich & Cain is a tremendous jump in defense, OBP, and contact rate. The question now looms. Can santana go to 1st. Can Braun. Do we push the defense even more and start Braun in right and defensive sub in phillips regularly. Gg LF yelich... very good defensive CF in cain... we can hide that RF a great deal. With phillips... that OF is defensive elite.
  7. I thought they wanted to win. Follow the astros... i did a big write up about this last season as we were imploding. Astros ckear cut Ks going into last year. We were building up and thats fine but to polish the weaponry the removal of Ks was absolutely critical. Not saying I know the exact metrics but there's a distinct line and a tipping point im certain. We are getting back under that line.
  8. This 100 percent... as soon as I saw "we just added cain" my first thought was here comes the dominos!!! 100% high heat... you can bow now.
  9. CAIN CAIN CAIN!!!!!! Loved him and he's BACK!!! Too pricey! Lol Bye bye Santana... as in I promise he's gone by midnight central. But if he somehow is not... Cain yelich santana shaw braun/thames Good night!
  10. Agreed. My big worry is this: On a team that struggles to get players on base, two of the three players with the best OBP skills in the system are now gone. Michael Reed went to Atlanta as a six-year free agent and Isan Diaz has been dealt for Yelich. That leaves Trent Grisham, who led the entire system in walks. Stokes is a close second, and I think his track record of staying healthy and his "almost Harrison" numbers last year made Harrison a "sell high" candidate. Hopefully, the June draft will see the Crew get more, or some players will develop that skill better. But that skill in the system has taken a big hit now. You want OBP... well we just got cain and added yelich. That's 2 360 obp types for years.
  11. I'd like to see Broxton go for some prospects. Braun in left, Yelich in center, Santana in right. Or Santana in center and Yelich in right. Phillips as 4th OF. Well from everything I've read yelich doesn't have the arm for RF and I'd really prefer not to see santana in extended time at CF. If we are in on Cain I assume 1 thing and 1 of 2 others. We add cain santana has a deal already inplace and that's a near given. Then Braun splits rf with phillips or moves to 1b. Yelich Cain Phillips is fantastic defensively. Yelich Cain Braun/Phillips works... especially with phillips D subing every late game.
  12. Man I really wish Braun would (could) make a nearly full time move to 1b. Yelich phillips/broxton santana with a braun/thames platoon 50/50 (thames only vs rh) with heavy ph usage. Braun can play some lf to randomly rest yelich. Then again, santana for salazar and giving phillips rf would help the defense and really solidify the staff.
  13. If Huira and Lutz prove to be wise selections who can advance to the bigs in 3 years or less at 2B and RF then this won't hurt. I have no concerns with what yelich will do Career... Home 278/363/759 Road 301/374/839 Last 2 39 hr Home 15 Road 24 300/365/820 and 25 hr... yeah
  14. If we assume santana stays Yelich santana shaw braun thames/aguilar ... then 2b pina arcia in some order. Wow that first 5 is filthy. Would love to see arcia 9th and an improved year of contact minded swings from him.
  15. I mean my plan for mke was pretty simple... get yelich and I'd overpay. Well here we are. The 3 bats spook me. Diaz is soo raw but so highly touted even after a down year. Brinson I dont think will be yelich. I rest on this deal saying NO TOP ARMS and if we roll back Harrison 1 year I doubt anyone worries about his inclusion. Maybe he's a stud... maybe hes a 250/320 25 hr guy.
  16. Well, that's the problem. He's not a special player. Yes he is. Hes a nearing prime 5 year controlled lefty that checks all the boxes and is a GG LF. Damn braun. Play 1st.
  17. So brinson diaz harrison and yamamoto? Cringe. Glad we kept our 3 young rising arms but yikes harrison brinson diaz could give them an offense in 2-3 years. Yikes thats a lot.
  18. Dubon is a big step back from arcia? Upside wise sure. Offensively, likely. Defensively, not really. Every report says the guys a very good fielder. So our 8 hole hitter going from solid to weak (assumed) is a big step back? Its about the stack. Yelich is clear top of the order. Arcia needs a lot of unlikely progress to be a top of the order guy and its almost impossible to see him in yelichs vacinity offensively. Hell sogard can adequately play ss too. Villar eh. You sign walker and move the 2b jumble to a ss jumble and add in dubon at some point. We really dont take a huge step back at all. Unless arcia dramatically improves with the bat and consistency in the field. Understand I'm not dumping on a 23 year old dude with impressive tools just because it hasn't come together yet... but to call losing arcia with villar sogard dubon around a huge step back is projecting arcia quite a bit.
  19. Arcia is an odd one to me. Range is insane and duffs the easier stuff.... maturity? Had a segment where he locked in a slappy 2 strike approach where his average spiked well over 300. I know its sacreligious in this metrics era but I wish he'd focus on being a slappy singles hitter. His speed and numbers closer to 300/360 (improved plate discipline...maturity) could make him a stud 9 hole hitter or leadoff table setter. The potential is there and I wish he went anti metrics and embraced it. I never see him being a star with the bat. He doesnt look 2 or 3 level. Hes rare enough range wise to be an all star caliber dude with an uninspiring slg. Problem now is the easy mistakes in the field and the obp sitting at mediocre. I see his offense and wish for good prado. Hell even a bit less pop. 8-10 hr would do if he could 300/360. His defense I just want dependability.
  20. That......works in........movies..........not...........in real.............life. Sure, but you don't let teams shop your offers and keep you waiting as the offseason proceeds and opportunities pass you by. You can only sit on plan Yelich for so long before it hurts your offseason if it doesn't happen. I'd have no issues telling them, if your plan is to leverage my offer, yahoo japan is going to report I'm out. Would it work. No. Don't expect it to, do expect teams to understand when I make an offer you accept or reject.
  21. This is all well and good. I love yelich but calling him 5 tool at CF isn't right. He's not a strong defensive CF. Would be a GG LF but he's a worse defensive cf than Broxton. The arm can't play RF. I honestly wonder how this would play out defensively. Phillips could be a GG RF but yelich and braun wouldn't impress. Braun yelich santana would be quite bad defensively. Leads me to my ever reverting back to "god I wish we didnt have braun" take. Could get cain for less. Cain yelich santana shaw thames/aguilar pina 2b arcia. Damn Braun.
  22. I'd go Brinson, Burns, I. Diaz, Peralta, and Pennington and not feel like the farm was emptied. If we offer anything close to that I'll be livid. If it takes more than the 1st 2nd and 5th of those 5 I want no part of this and I love Yelich. That's more than Quintana took by far. Its a team friendly contract for 5 years of yelich... its not free. 5th year is 15 mil. If the market is "cold" on santana then the price on yelich better not be more than Brinson Burnes/Ortiz. Just because the rangers and astros screwed up in deals with us doesnt mean we send every "spare" piece we have to miami. People including Ortiz and Diaz baffle me too. Both are insanely young and with a good half season are easily back in the top 100.
  23. I want yelich sooo badly. It will sting... oy. Brinson fine hell phillips too fine Ortiz or Burnes thats enough right? This oh yeah toss in fperalta and diaz stuff is scary as heck. Yelich cain salazar for prospects money and santana. Yelich Cain shaw braun thames/aguilar pina 2b arcia is massive Anderson salazar nelson (hope) davies chacin/woodruff I'm down with it but we have to retain a few like diaz huira harrison lutz and 1 of ortiz burnes... dubon peralta too please.
  24. I wouldn't mind kipnis but at the same time his contract makes him a zero value player in my eyes. If not a slight negative. If walker comes for 10/2 paying more for kipnis isnt worth it. Salazar's 3 years of control is a big get in my eyes. He's still reasonably priced and if we could add that without sending them a high level arm I'm all ears. To be honest I dont know if Santana's 4 years of control is enough to get salazar for 3. And I love Santana. Anderson Salazar davies chacin woodruff puts suter as a long man and if woodruff succeeds and nelson comes back Chacin is trade bait by the deadline. Unfortunately the offense without santana is yikes. Even with Cain. Phillips would have to explode on the scene and kipnis would have to revert to .280/.340 just to hold its own vs last years offense.
