    Great stuff ... solid makeup. Consistency is sometimes an issue, as it is with a lot of young starters. If he isn't neck-and-neck talent wise with Burnes and Woodruff, the step below is miniscule.

    I don't think that is correct. From MLB Network research: The winner of Game 3 in a best-of-five postseason series tied at 1-1 has gone on to win the series 39 of 54 times (72.2%) entering 2021.

    My prediction was with the assumption that there would be a universal DH next year. If there is not, then I agree.

Can't see them hanging on to Gustave, even at that cheap number, as there will be minimum-type guys that can give them similar results. Maile is out of options, so he'll be replaced with a catcher who has options ... or Feliciano will serve that role next year. Otherwise I think all the rest of back.

    This is not "an attempt at a reverse jinx". This is just straight up whiney pessimism. I get the doubt while watching the game, but why is it on this forum that the negative predictions are so absolute, yet there is so much question in the positivity? I mean, do you guys always watch sports expecting the absolute worst case scenario every time? I can't understand that.

    Noon game. So much for any work productivity today. Hopefully the bats get going, and Good Freddy shows up. Game #3 in a tied 5-game series is always huge. Let's GOOOOOOOOOO!!!

    Well the good news is Freddy’s fastball velocity hasn’t dipped 5-mph, and was actually above average in his first start back after the mid-August injury. It actually looks like this has been the most consistent year of his career in terms of maintaining velocity throughout the season. From Brooks Baseball, here is his by month average velocity… And his by game average velocity… I LOVE when actual stats are used in the OPTIMISM thread to curb negativity! Bravo!

    Yea. 2-0 in the 3rd, turn it off, it's over. Man I forgot how bad the hot takes were in the IGT. LOL I was just thinking the same thing. I honestly am not surprised there aren't more like that, to tell you the truth.
