  1. Keeping Pederson on the bench has led to four out of the 7 runs that ATL has scored in the series. That is perhaps where not having Suter in this series has hurt. No way the Braves hit Pederson against Suter.
  2. Do you really think Rowdy could go either way? I think he is a lock! I think the 1B job is his to lose next year. I'd like to see them commit to the guy, give him half a season full time and see what happens. Agreed. Anything that they find on the open market at 1B for $2 million is going to be terrible. Rowdy might be as well, but at least there is some upside there, along with the possibility that he might be solid if not decent.
  3. It was. Swanson was shaded up the middle, because that's where Yelich is trying to put everything lately.
  4. He's gonna be around for awhile. If he doesn't figure it out, it's gonna be a long contract. The Brewers cannot afford for that to happen.
  5. Ugh ... there's were Yelich's weak base hit swing hurt them.
  6. Lauer game 4. Burnes game 5. Why wouldn’t we go with Burnes for game 4, and Woodruff for game 5? I’d want our best pitchers in there. These will be must-win games so why not go with them? Lauer was better than both in the second half of the season. The only thing that might give me pause giving Lauer a start is the RHH heaviness of the Braves' lineup. Of course, pitching Lauer would somewhat neutralize Freeman, and keep Pederson on the bench.
  7. It's a very positive sign that they're targeting guys like that. If that is the type of hitter they are going after, they'll eventually grab one or two. If Stearns has proven anything, it's that he isn't afraid of upsetting the apple cart, even with a team that is good on paper.
  8. You don't say You think this is funny?? You guys fully support the way they construct their offense, and yet continually complain about how bad it is. You do not get to have it both ways. If you're fine with the way they do things, then quit complaining. When you shop at Walmart for bats, you get Walmart quality, what the hell do you expect?? Hope is NOT a strategy, yet it's how the Brewers do things.."hope" that Yelich and Hiura turn it around...Instead of hedging on that and building your offense so that IF they still struggle you have enough quality bats to overcome it. It's not rocket science. I do not think the Brewers' offensive performance is funny. However, your reaction to it continues to be downright hilarious. A zebra doesn't change it's stripes.
  9. I think Urias and Adames have that type of ability, but they need to decide whether they are power guys or OBP guys. By all appearances, they want to be power guys, at least right now. That might very well be organizational philosophy as opposed to personal choice. And I think the debate will rage on as to whether or not it will get them to the ultimate goal. In the Brewers' defense, last offseason they did put a full court press on Justin Turner, who would have been the exact type of hitter you are seeking. It also came out that they tried to acquire Kevin Newman. Unfortunately neither worked out but it isn't like they don't realize what their deficiencies are.

  11. OK .. good start. Lets at least make this thing interesting now.
  12. Really underrated signing this season. Strickland has been a stud since they first grabbed him off the scrap heap.
  13. "Desperation" or "aggressive" are interchangeable adjectives used depending on how the move plays out You aren't mistaken though saying the offense is "desperate" for scoring opportunities...and they finally had one If CC is that unconfident in his offense to view its best chance to score any runs forces him to yank his starting pitcher after FOUR innings and is dealing, then ill stick with the adjective of desperate. This isn't game 5 - and its going to put strain on a good but thin bullpen tomorrow when game 4 gets into the mid-late innings, too. Agree with all of this. It puts a lot of pressure on Lauer to pitch a gem tomorrow, and give them some length. As it is now, the pen is backed into a bit of a corner.
  14. You aren't arguing with anyone. In fact, I would imagine that most agree with you. Yes, Peralta should have stayed in. Most said that.
  15. Yelich went 1-3 with a BB on Sunday. The team had 6 hits total. He wasn't the problem. They didn't play Sunday but point taken, you like how the offense is run, I get it. Saturday. And no, where in the heck do you see me defending the offense there? I said Yelich wasn't the problem in the 3-0 loss, and he wasn't.
  16. Yelich went 1-3 with a BB on Sunday. The team had 6 hits total. He wasn't the problem. There's no way around the reality that Yelich is a major problem on this team as constructed and as it looks now, will continue to be one. We have a bad slap singles hitter making 30 million a year. If he had regressed to Marlins level, we'd probably be OK and at least a semi-watchable offense. That's really a completely different argument.

  18. Or he's simply sticking with a good pitcher who made one bad pitch.
  19. The Brewers were without a doubt the better looking team in Game 1.
  20. Not a chance. It'll be Lauer unless they have to use him today.
