  1. I won't feel good about this until we're up 40 with 90 seconds to go. No lead under 25 is safe against the Suns. Booker can't miss.
  2. He is constantly in the ref's ear. What an unlikable guy.
  3. I was just thinking that Tellez would be a perfect target for the Orioles to acquire as part of a package for Mancini.
  4. Nah ... he's gotta make the right move. Don't worry about when other teams make trades.
  5. They pointed out on the telecast that, until tonight, the Reds bullpen had an ERA of under 2 over the last month or so. They haven’t been nearly as bad as they were earlier in the season. As their starting pitching has improved, they haven’t had to cover as many innings with the bottom of their bullpen. Between guys returning from injuries and late season moves I wouldn’t count on their bullpen being that bad the rest of the way. I don't know about that. There is no one in that pen that is threatening. Sure they could string together some decent outings. But nothing scary there. Just a bunch of guys.
  6. LOL ... more like a surprisingly potent offensive performance bailing out Counsell on an odd at best decision.
  7. Whenever anyone thinks that the Reds are a major threat, I'm going to remember their bullpen and LOL
  8. I think 20 homers wasn't a completely outrageous possibility. He did have 19 in a half season of aaa in 2019. Didn't a ton of guys hit like that, though? That was when they used the MLB juiced ball at AAA I thought?
  9. Urias just continues to impress. He is solidifying his spot as this team's 3B both of the present and future with each AB it seems. No one expected this kind of power. What a great surprise!
  10. I keep thinking the bottom is going to eventually fall out for Boxberger, and he keeps proving me wrong. He's been a terrific pickup.
  11. Same thing with Houser hitting Castellanos earlier. A guy with obviously no command hits a guy to lead off an inning, and its intentional? Uh, no.
  12. You are right. I am not typically in favor of focusing on matchups with so much season left, but there was plenty of writing on the wall indicating that Houser would struggle tonight, and that's exactly what happened. And I really like Houser. But throwing him against the Royals was always a much better matchup.
  13. That's what I would do. Let him rake at Nashville, and hope he either figures it out, or that some team out there believes in those numbers.
  14. Follow it up with Narvaez and Avi Garcia being the top offensive threats, and most would thinks its Bizzaro World.
  15. One of the biggest issues I have coaching 12 year olds is getting them to lay off high out-of-zone fastballs. They do eventually get it for the most part, though. The fact that a 24-year-old former 1st round hitting prodigy cannot get that is simply disgusting.
  16. Agreed. Why trade an actual asset for Tellez if he's going to sit for Jace Peterson? If you have to play Jace, move Garcia to CF and play Jace in RF. I don't think the team can afford the downgrade in defense with Garcia in center field. LOL, you literally just advocated the team trade for 41-year-old Nelson Cruz and play him at 1B. Either defense is important or it isn't.
  17. We need a difference making bat for the middle of the lineup and Rowdy was never going to be that guy. I would love to see the Brewers trade for Nelson Cruz and let him play first base. I would fear that Cruz playing 1B on a regular basis would make Hiura like like John Olerud over there.
  18. I almost wonder if a starting pitcher might be acquired who would give the Brewers the flexibility to move Houser to the pen? That would theoretically strengthen two areas. I still like Houser as a starter, but his history indicates he is close to elite out of the pen. They can always go back to a 5 man rotation and put Houser in the pen. That very well may happen, but likely not until mid August at the earliest. Not if the whole point is to limit starter innings.
