Woodruff LOVES the bright lights apparently! (sorry Brew4U, I just couldn't resist!) It’s the start I was hoping for from Burnes. Next year. Next year...! I'm very excited at the prospect of having Woodruff and Burnes at the top of next year's rotation. Need to identify one more starter they can count on, though. I wouldn't mind bringing Anderson back, as he's been solid this year. Lindblom will still be around as well, as will Houser, Peralta and Lauer. Need one of those guys to step up.

What an outing by Woody! Wow! See, this is the type of thing that gets me excited and ready to buy back in. I think I've lost count of how many times that has happened this season, though.

In their case, adversity = stupidity. They have gotten what they deserve, but the sad thing is, their competition has had to pay the price for their stupidity as well. Screw the Cardinals, now and forever. In their case, their stupidity can get them up to three extra home games. Last night, and the potential doubleheader on Monday. Pretty sure MLB said that if they need to play those games Monday, they'll be in Detroit.

Agreed. In my opinion it would be idiotic to give up on a guy that has shown that kind of ML bat after 60 games. You give him until mid-year next year before cutting bait. His defense has been better than advertised at least this year.

I wasn't expecting much either. He's been a very pleasant surprise. Happy to have him back next year as well. He has a solid approach at the plate for the most part. Even if the DH isn't a thing in the NL next year, I hope they bring him back as a platoon 1B.

Agreed. It's way different watching Corbin Burnes or Freddy Peralta struggle than a guy like Lauer. Brewers got robbed in my view. The optics certainly aren't good right now, but in the end this is probably the type of trade that can't be judged for a good 4-5 seasons.

It's like he's sold out with his swing to try to make himself into a 40 HR guy. Yeah, in a full season he will probably do that, but he's also going to bat .210 and K 200 times.

He is 4 for his last 9. They are all terrible this year. Other than expectations, I don't know why Hiura gets singled out. It's optics. It's seems like every time I see an at-bat from him, he is K'ing on a high fastball.

Look, I’m not ready to pull the rip cord every time something doesn’t go well. I can show you comments from posters last April that were ready to be done with Brandon Woodruff as a starting pitcher. I get that the definition of the IGT is to be reactionary to what’s occurring, I do it plenty as well. I also think lets maybe wait a little bit before we make every definitive judgement. +1 Of course, I've been on Hiura's case, but that is with the caveat that he is young and extremely talented, so that makes his performance this year all the more frustrating.

What's funny is Claudio and Suter have the same kind of junkball lefty stuff, yet I love watching Suter pitch, and hate watching Claudio pitch. It's weird.
