  1. It's all about 40-man roster flexibility. To call up Adams or Fischer, they need to be added to both the 40- and 25-man rosters, and they couldn't be removed unless they were DFA'd. They won't be worried about losing Bae once back to full health though.
  2. I think the answer is 40-man roster flexibility. If they add Adams or Fischer, they cannot be removed. Bae can quite easily once the roster is back to full health.
  3. Jett Williams can't catch a break. Two times now he was likely slated to be the next guy up, only to get hurt at the exact wrong time.
  4. Nice to see the return of Good Ashby. Lets make it more of a habit now.
  5. If the playoffs started tomorrow, yes. But I'd like to see him get comfortable and see what he can do before making that determination.
  6. Biggest difference is Sproat doesn't have the experience to reel things back in when he gets in trouble.
  7. Wow ... getting punched in the junk on a catcher follow-through. That's a new one.
  8. 44 pitches through 3 innings. May has done a nice job reeling in his pitch count.
  9. Too many pitches, but otherwise May looked good. Absolutely nasty movement, and hitting 99 on the gun.
  10. We have one in Yelich. Made his MLB debut at a young age. Athletic. Solid but not superstar numbers in Florida. Slow build before a minor break out at 24 years old, followed by a superhuman breakout at 26.
  11. Have to say, its hard not to root for a guy who brings this kind of aura to the park.
  12. PCA is also two full years older than Chourio. Gotta remember that Jackson is still at an age that most players are still in AA or AAA. There is a lot of growth potential there.
  13. I think a lot of Brewers fans are, and rightfully so. Especially when we hear the national "Brewers are ruining baseball" crap from the talking heads, only to find out that, value-wise, the Brewers did, in fact, stick their neck out and put together an offer that many believe blew the Dodgers package out of the water.
  14. There is nothing stopping Scott Harris from shipping off Luis Pena and the other Top 100 prospects garnered in the deal for high-end established pitching that is much more of a sure thing than a 28-year-old non-prospect coming off TJ surgery in the off-season.
  15. It isn't as simple as that. Smart organizations stack value, regardless of position.
  16. A salary cap isn't a cure-all. Teams still need to be run well. The Vikings and Lions have been run like dumpster fires for decades. The main argument is that the teams that ARE run well, such as the Milwaukee Brewers, still cannot compete in the current environment. And looking at which teams have eliminated the Brewers from the playoffs for the last decade, that has the basis of a strong argument.
  17. And the prized "young pitching" they added is literally older than anybody in their core of hitters. And coming off TJ surgery.
  18. Maybe. We likely won't know that until a few years down the road. I hate giving up on potential. Especially to a division rival.
  19. Wisconsin sports talk radio isn't exactly a bastion of Milwaukee Brewers organizational knowledge. If it isn't Packers or Giannis related, they by and large don't care.
  20. If the Tigers were dead set on getting pitching back in the deal, I hope they enjoy Old Man River.
  21. Best team in baseball to suddenly terrible? Yeesh.
