  1. Paul is in the ring-chasing point in his career. Of course he wants to come play for the team that is probably the odds-on favorite to come out of the East. I'm sure there is probably 100 veteran types littered around the NBA who feel similarly. That's why Matthews, Korver and R. Lopez took huge discounts to come here. I agree, though, that unless they can find a way to cook the books, Paul's contract is an albatross. do the bucks really need another guy who needs the ball in his hands at all times, even besides his contract? Probably ... but that doesn't change my opinion that the idea of Paul WANTING to play in Milwaukee is pretty cool.
  2. I'm personally totally ok with that. It's fun to window shop, though.
  3. I think if the Dodgers are serious about making a play for Lindor, it is possible that both Seager or Lux would be in play in a Hader deal. Seager is more proven, but carries more of an injury risk and of course has less control and a higher salary. I wonder what the package going back for Lindor would be, though. If they demand Lux, then the Dodgers might want to hang on to Seager and plug him in at 2B.
  4. It's a bummer that there's going to be one less cord-cutting option that carries Fox Sports Wisconsin next year for the Brewers. PS Vue was my go-to after Sling stopped carrying the Fox Sports regionals.
  5. The Brewers obviously don't see Fry as a catcher and probably never will he is a 1B/3B only and not a catcher. We had Fryer player a lot of OF and he carved out a nice career as a catcher, we had Brantley at 1b quite a bit. Sometimes guys play out of position due to organizational strengths Could be. I doubt Fry is going to jump ahead of Feliciano and Henry on the catching totem pole, not to mention Nottingham as well. We really have next to nothing at 1B in the minors, though, so they very well may be grooming him to go there in the future.

  7. I'm not advocating that Ramsey will struggle. I actually think he'll be ok. I just think that the acquisition cost was WAY too high ... to the point where he pretty much has to operate at an All-Pro, defensive MVP level to justify it. But I wouldn't have done the Mack deal, either. The Bears in my opinion are even further away than the Rams, and while stars win regular season games, teams with solid depth typically win championships. I guess overall I'm just not a fan of the Rams philosophy on team-building.
  8. I don't get why you're comparing trading a 24 year elite Corner for multiple 1sts with a 32 year old corner that they traded for a 5th? Just two totally different scenario's. Talib and Peters were hyped as a shutdown CB duo for them after they acquired both via trade last year. Now both are gone, and they actually had to pay a team to take Talib's contract. All I'm saying is that is not good management. And that I believe the huge haul they are giving up for ramsey is going to turn out poor for them as well.
  9. Based basically on the reaction of pure dread from a few here when he jumped ship for the Reds last year. For the most part the Brewers pitching ended up being similar overall to what they did in 2018.
  10. Rob Demovsky replied to your tweet! I saw that It doesn't make any sense to to for them to activate Sternberger over Campbell if Campbell is healthy, at least to me. Campbell was a solid contributor last year in his short time healthy.
  11. Rams trade Aquib Talib and a 2020 5th rounder for a 7th rounder in 2022. Rams continue to make make curiously idiotic moves in an attempt to "go for it." I mean, I get that Ramsey is good. But ... I'm guessing that some of the same people that thought the deal they made for Ramsey was great also thought that the deal they one made for Talib was great. Now they have to give up value just to rid themselves of his contract. That is not good roster and cap management. The rams are setting themselves up to fall off a cliff at some point.
  12. A lot of times you'll get comp picks for these guys who leave. Makes it not really worth unloading guys for mid to late round picks unless you think you're getting back more than what you would otherwise. I think bad teams also tend to overvalue their own assets ... hence why they are bad. Kinda makes the Packers' decision to deal Clinton-Dix for a 4th at least year's deadline look like a great move. Of course that 4th was used as part of the package to move up for Savage, which is looking like a very solid move.
  13. NFL GMs are playing checkers for the most part, while smart MLB GMs are playing chess.
  14. Listening to Bill Michaels Show (I know, I know), and they have a new commercial for a "manscaping" product that they play every commercial break. It was funny the first time, but after hearing it roughly 15-20 times so far today, it has gotten grating. Do producers not realize that people will literally tune them out when they allow this sort of crap to happen?
  15. I think if they make a move today, the name will be an underwhelming sort like ILBs Preston Brown (Bengals) or Alec Ogletree (Giants). Those hoping for a big name WR I think are going to be disappointed. Of course, Gute is much more unpredictable than TT.
  16. I personally think the Chargers are a team that's soundly better than their record. They also have several match-up problems, namely Austin Ekeler out of the backfield and Hunter Henry at TE, along with a smart, veteran QB with a quick release in Rivers. This is going to be a tough game for the Packers.
  17. If they go back to the old logo as the primary, I'm totally good with it. It is an iconic logo that they never should have abandoned, in my opinion. For those saying it's too cartoony, or that it is continuing to ride the coattails of the 1982 team, you do realize that you are cheering for a team playing a GAME, and that baseball, more than any other professional sport, celebrates history and tradition.
  18. My argument against that is that it wasn't "the best relief pitcher on a good team" award. Never thought I'd say this, but a relief pitcher playing for the Milwaukee Brewers probably has a larger national audience and greater following than one playing in big market San Diego. It has to be something like that, because solely based on stats, Yates should have gotten it.
  19. I guess it all depends on whether the Brewers believe Arcia has enough upside to stick with him. It really doesn't matter what we think.
  20. I'm thinking an owl then. Roof should take care of your issue.
  21. Raccoons are are also known to grab a chicken through the fence and rip the head off. Do you have hardware cloth surrounding the whole thing? A raccoon can get a chicken's head through chicken wire.
  22. I'd just be very surprised if the team considers upgrading at SS a high priority, especially when compared to the spots where their preferred starters are going to be free agents. There's only so much blood to be squeezed from the turnip, and if it comes down to resigning Moose or signing someone like Iglesias to play ahead of Arcia, I'm taking Moose every single time. Because a 3B/SS combo of Moose/Arcia looks a heck of a lot better than Shaw/Iglesias.
  23. Yep, raccoon is my guess as well, although I know of possums, minks and skunks all doing this very thing. We have chickens and ducks as well and have lost a few over the years to predators. We have fox, weasels, raccoons and coyotes around. If it were a fox or coyote, they would take the whole bird. Not raccoons, though. Raccoons are dicks. Also could be an owl. Owls will take the head off prey at times, then come back for the rest when the coast is clear.
  24. This team is never going to have star offensive production at every position. That's just the way the finances work. I'm totally fine not giving up on a defensively gifted 25-year-old who has shown capability, if not inconsistency, with the bat. Plus, with Hiura solidified at 2B, I want a strong defender at SS. Then he'd better step up the defensive part of his game as well. Despite his reputation, Counsell made it no secret that he was disappointed with Arcia's defense in 2019. He was not as good defensively last year. That doesn't mean that the guy isn't an extremely gifted SS. If he can find a little more consistency on both offense and defense, he's a solid starting SS.
