  1. I saw that one last week and thought it was pretty funny. I'm hoping that the lack of athleticism he showed last week was due to some sort of lingering injury, and that yesterday was perhaps the Graham we'll see the rest of the year. It wasn't like we had Ertz or Kelce out there yesterday, but if Graham continues to show effectiveness in his limited touches, it provides another weapon. It would be nice to get Tonyan back sooner rather than later as well.
  2. Who? Jimmy Graham and it took me by surprise as well. It didn't look anything like the Jimmy Graham we've seen since he came to Green Bay. It almost looked like Graham was playing with a little more fire yesterday. Perhaps he made a visit to Packers Twitter last week and saw the posts comparing him to a senior citizen and a tree stump? Whatever the case, I like the Jimmy Graham who plays with a chip on his shoulder.
  3. The new Cellcom commercials with Lafleur are gratingly annoying. He's got so much more charisma than McCarthy every had, and instead of using that, they barely give him anything to do and instead focus on the annoying girl hung up on "Vince's trophy". Just so many odd choices there.
  4. Last week Jimmy Graham literally looked like an elderly gentleman they plucked out of a nursing home. I don't know how he looked this week, but I saw in the box he had 4 catches for 60+ yards. Last week whenever he went down to the ground, he struggled to get back to his feet like a lifealert patient, and he looked like he was running in quicksand. I don't know if it was the Raider's scheme or not, but Graham looked like he found the fountain of youth today. Actually beat the DB on his TD catch, and also had some YAC on a few of his other catches. He actually looked useful today.
  5. I don't understand the "Kevin King is terrible" take either, but it is strong in this fanbase. He is certainly not terrible but he's not a top five DB either. Probably a little bit above average for an NFL DB but he is still very young. I don't know if anyone is calling for him to be a top five DB. He's solid, which I think is all you can expect from your #2 CB.
  6. also nice to see Jimmy Graham have a nice game today. He looked a little quicker today than he has the last few weeks.
  7. I don't understand the "Kevin King is terrible" take either, but it is strong in this fanbase.
  8. I don't get this, man. I just said "no shame" and "Raiders are a good team" and "gives us Super Bowl hopes" all in the same paragraph. You think I'm not enjoying the heck out of being a fan of this team right now? Why can I not do that while also acknowledging the things that need to be cleaned up? Why is it necessary for me to bury my head in the sand, lie to myself and pretend that them being "in prevent mentally" was responsible for the defensive performance today if I am not going to have it questioned how I enjoy being a fan of this team? I do think this is a good team on the upswing. Not saying otherwise. My post wasn’t directed at you. I guess it was intended to be more general in nature. I’ve seen quite a bit of consternation following the game all over the place. Hell, Bill Michaels is beating it to death on his postgame show right now. The team just had its best offensive performance in years, and all people seem to want to do is complain about the defense. It’s just a little disheartening, that’s all.
  9. After the frustration of the last two seasons, I'm going to enjoy this win and this start. No one saw 6-1 coming. This team is defying everyone's expectations. Are there some issues? Yes, there are. But this is a good team on the upswing. As a fan, I'm going to enjoy it. Was the defense concerning today? Yeah. But if that is the biggest takeaway from today's game, I don't understand how you enjoy being a fan of this team.
  10. Great to see the offense come alive in a vintage effort today. Rodgers was spectacular. Defense gave up a lot of yards, but were in a prevent mentality for a lot of the game. Raiders have a solid offense as well. Very big game that should hopefully put a lot of questions to rest, at least for now.
  11. Junior Guerra isn't going anywhere. He had a very nice season.
  12. Great AAA numbers. No options, though, so he either makes it as a pen piece, or he's gone at the end of Spring Training.
  13. This offense has shown flashes of dominant play. They need to find the consistency. Can they? Time will tell. It will be an interesting game to watch Sunday. If the Packers are going to be a contender this year, this is the type of game they should be able to win going away. I predict something like a 28-7 score.
  14. I'm starting to think you should call every game a Packer loss. Your bad predictions seem to be a good luck charm for the Pack
  15. Sunday's game is at Lambeau.
  16. It can be argued that if the Phillies had a viable option at SS right under their noses, they wouldn't have kept running that poo-poo platter of mediocrity out there. Kingery is the only one I'd describe as bad, and he improved in 2019. He only moved from SS because the Phillies acquired Segura. Galvis was nominated for the Gold Glove in both of his years in Philly. Segura's an All-Star SS. When the last four years feature a two-time Gold Glove nominee, an All-Star, and a highly-touted rookie... yeah, I'd put my second SS at second base. But if Hernandez could be a viable starting SS, wouldn't it have been prudent to hand him the job after Galvis left, rather than try to give it to an overmatched Kingery, or pay a big price for Segura in a trade?
  17. It can be argued that if the Phillies had a viable option at SS right under their noses, they wouldn't have kept running that poo-poo platter of mediocrity out there.
  18. Not quite trading a probable high #1 for Minkah level stupid, but getting there. Rams legit trying to buy a Super Bowl by bringing in established high-priced talent. That team is eventually gonna hit salary cap hell. You really think this was stupid? Ramsey could be a more athletic/better man corner than Richard Sherman over the next 5-6 years. I don't think he's like all these corners...Norman, Bouye....I don't know, just keep going. Nnamdi, Revis, all these guys who were the best for a year or two or three. I think he's one of those true transformation type players. When those guys come along and you're trying to win a SB, I can't ever look at a legitimate contender and say that's a stupid move. And even the rest of those moves, they traded 1sts to get Geoff and Cooks and then last year they traded down from 31 to get the 45th and 79th picks...really good value for them. So I think the "Mortgaging the future for the present," deal is a little overplayed. All of those moves are justified. Sure, they need help on the OL, but it's kinda hard to argue with any of those. A QB who took you to a SB last year and helped you go..what 15-4 with a 1st round bye. I don't think Ramsey's as valuable as Mack, but he's a similar caliber player at a slightly less valuable position. Are you gonna be able to get better value picking ~20th this year and then probably late 1st again next year? As for the Cap Hell, there are so many ways around that. I don't like when teams do that with young QB's as you want to build a team like Thompson WAS on his way to building in GB, one that was competitive every year(especially before Collins, Finley had career ending injuries and BJ walked) but your cap was always under control....but you're in the LA market and they think they're good enough to win it now. The Rams and Packers were in similar situations here. The Packers weren't willing to do so, presumably because they know they need to get Rodgers some help. Specifically at Tackle(Bulaga is a FA and playing at a level that's gonna see teams willing to pay him 15 million for multiple years right now) and WR'er. The Rams have offensive issues, but...still, I'll take my chances and count on the Front Office to get those 2nd, 3rd's they've got right and to massage these cap figures. It costs a lot of cash and usually long deals, but you can almost always get around it year to year. I personally think it's a dumb move because the Rams gave up a king's ransom for a player that is very good, but in my opinion is only going to improve them incrementally. So far the Rams look pretty drastically inferior to the team they put on the field last year. They have major offensive line issues, and aren't going to go anywhere until those are shored up. Over the last few years, the Rams have tried to build by throwing money at "name" guys, then their fanbase acts surprised and incredulous when those guys end up hurt and miss multiple games every year. They are building the same way that the Redskins of the early 2000s tried, when they brought in over-the-hill former stars like Bruce Smith and Deion Sanders, and it blew up in their face.
  19. Perez was a useful player from a young age. He just never got any better. I always liked his enthusiasm for the game and his overall baseball smarts. But his plate discipline was poor, and he never hit with enough consistency to find a full time role. You can certainly do a lot worse for a utility guy, but his time here has run it's course.
  20. Hilarious that you cite PFF to boost your case but leave out his ranking THIS year. FYI, he's ranked 60th out of 88 by PFF. Philadelphia is extremely thin, if not desperate at LB and they released him going into a season-tilting matchup against their rival. That should tell you something. His PFF ranking this year is a really small sample for a guy who's been solid his whole career. And who knows Philly's reasoning for cutting him. We are not privy to that info. Perhaps he just wasn't a fit for the defense they run. Doesn't mean he's done.
  21. DJ LeMahieu is a good example: 2018 H/R splits H: 317/360/433 R: 229/277/422 2019 Yankees line: 327/375/518 I remember strongly advocating for the Brewers to sign LeMahieu last offseason, and was met with plenty of vinegar saying that he would be bad outside of Coors. Fact is, if you're a good hitter, you're a good hitter. Coors definitely does help some hitters. I'd argue that a guy like Story is going to be really good wherever he goes.
  22. Catchers move a long differently than other positions. He's not a 4A player. He will be 25 next season and needs to do a bit more at the AAA level before cementing him into being on the 25-man roster. He will probably get a shot but I'm just not ready to trust going into next season with him. Depending on what the Brewers do to firm up offensive production at other positions, and where they decide to put their limited FA dollars, I think I'd be ok with a Pina/Nottingham time share next year.
  23. Pretty sure he won four with Edmonton. Made it to one with with the LA Kings but lost.
  24. But that is simply not reality and is just a horrible horrible take. Probably one of the worst takes I've seen on these boards in a while Actually, you are 100% spot on. You're right, the Lions should just score a TD every drive and get a sack every defensive play. It's their fault for not having a perfect outcome on every play. Or, the Lions were 51-52% better than the Packers yesterday...and the refs favorable calls were enough to swing the outcome in our favor. Could the Lions have been better, yes...but it's not exactly fair for them to have to be 55-60% better than us in anticipation of compensating for bad calls. That's not a realistic expectation in this league...the teams are too good. That's hyperbole. If the Lions get a TD instead of a FG on just one of those five scoring drives, they likely win. They could have/probably should have stomped the throat of the Packers in the first quarter, but instead settled for field goals, which allowed the Packers to hang around until the offense managed to get going. Then in the second half, the Lions completely went away from what had been working for them in the first quarter, going to a grind-out ball control offense, garnering them a grand total of 58 (!!!) second half yards. I will admit that several marginal, if not bad calls cost the Lions, but that team was flat out bad in the second half of that game after having 100% control into the second quarter. To say that the Packers were 100% gifted a win through poor refereeing, while not acknowledging that the Lions simply weren't good enough to make a Packers comeback unmanageable, seems like an attempt at trying to cheapen the win for some reason.
  25. If they could find a way to pry Kyle Freeland away instead of one of the other pieces, I would be really on board. He had a pretty terrible 2019, but looked like an ace in 2018. He's another prime bounce-back guy.
