  1. Yeah, the only time that makes sense is if they are trying a double steal, and Cain was coming home. Wonder if a sign was missed?
  2. I’ll give Joe Madison credit for recognizing what the Brewers were a season ago. He was telling people how good we were before things really clicked. I’m sure he’s a good baseball mind but I want him no where near the Brewers. Sorry ... shoulda put that in blue
  3. I read somewhere they still have a ton of money to spend, and are the overwhelming favorites to win the central next year. And they have a front office that runs things incredibly well. And that the deal for Trevor Bauer was a genius move. Hint: None of those things are true.
  4. SS Cubs is just about sunk. Wonder if Joe Maddon is going to be Counsell's bench coach next year after Pat Murphy takes the Cubs managerial job?
  5. Coming into today, he was 7/24 since he got back from the IL with 2 homers, a double, and 4 RBI. Pretty damn good even before you take into consideration how long he was out. Been good for one hit a game since coming back. I wouldn't say that's great. Ned him to start stringing together hits.
  6. I think getting no runs after getting runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out should henceforth be known as "Brewers Special".
  7. Tough for me to get mad when Amir Garrett pitches well. I don't think there is a relief pitcher in the league who I wish was a Brewer more.
  8. Probably wanted Suter to pitch in some nerve-wracking situations. He's been so good, he really hasn't been threatened much at all. Mission accomplished
  9. Probably because our manager likes to tinker, and a 40 man roster allows him to tinker tinker tinker... Yeah, 4 run lead, no problem, take a seat Ryan. One run? No, he stays.
  10. Suter says "Put down that phone, Craig. I got this!"
  11. I'm just stunned that a 30 year old journeymen, quad a catcher is not suddenly a superstar. Stunned I tell you. But he's a true hitter!!! I should know because I've watched quite a bit of him!
  12. I get the feeling that Grandal is making more future money with every Freitas AB.
  13. Sorry ... turned on the game late. He is pretty forevery tonight, though I just hope we can afford the guy after his contract runs out. We might want to see if he will take a team friendly extension 8-year extensions for everyone!!!
  14. I agree that those advocating throwing money at players like Iglesias and Galvis are making total knee-jerk reactions. They simply want them because they are not Orlando Arcia. If the Brewers are going to spend that kind of coin, in my opinion they need to make sure the player they choose is a sizable improvement offensively, while not taking a sizable step back defensively. Neither Galvis nor Iglesias are that. If you can't make that type of improvement, ride with Arcia another year, in the hope that possibly Turang may be ready sometime in 2021.
  15. Sorry ... turned on the game late. He is pretty forevery tonight, though
  16. Houser pretty much had one bad pitch in his last time out. Otherwise he was great. Not sure where the narrative that he’s been bad lately is coming from. Can’t expect perfection from your starters every time out.
  17. For sure. All we heard last offseason was how they had all this "stupid money" to play with. I feel like this is karma.
  18. I'm cheering for the Phillies, Cubs and DBacks. Cubs you say? Why? Well, I want the Cubs to still have something to play for this upcoming weekend when they go to Busch. I hate the Cardinals, and I don't want to give them the satisfaction of being able to rest up for the playoffs.
  19. I've always been a big Clay fan, and I'm glad to see he's playing well and making a difference for the Rams.
  20. It was nice around here for a while. I don't understand how it's continuing at this point.
  21. This game will be a good test. Eagles probably have the best offense of the teams they've faced so far, and probably the worst defense. If there is a game on the schedule for the Packers' offense to get right, this is it.
  22. And most of the time they do. Chacin was not a good pitcher last year, he had good results. Those are two very different statements. If your opinion of what makes a good pitcher is based on small samples of ERA your opinion is simply not valid. It takes 500 IP for ERA to become even marginally meaningful, it just isn't a stat you should be basing pitcher success on. It is like saying whether a hitter is good or bad based on his number of triples, it seriously is that bad of a stat to rely on. I don't even think I could tell you what Chacin's ERA was last year, and I don't care to look. So no need to condescend with your holier than thou stat geek schtick. I saw a pitcher who pitched well during the stretch run last year, in game 163, and in the playoffs. He also had a lot of bad games, especially early on. That's all.
  23. Not only that ... he was legitimately good. He had a 4.58 SIERRA last year. His past 8 seasons by sierra are 5.14, 4.27, 4.77, 4.28, 4.38, 4.63, 4.58, 5.01. His skills haven't changed at all, just his ERA has which is basically random over a single season. Chacin anchored the staff of the best team record wise in the National League last season. He was decent all year, but was especially good from September on last year. I realize your analytics say otherwise, but sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story.
