  1. Not only that ... he was legitimately good.
  2. BC92 brings up team revenues ... posters say those numbers are made up ... BC92 gets snippy. Why do I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day right now?
  3. I was a little too optimistic on this team's chances. Nailed the All-Star game reps besides the clear big miss in Shaw. Got the starter and reliever right. Braun has had a very good season, but not as good as I predicted. Williams was a clear miss. Aguilar was a good pick for disappointing, but he was even worse than predicted.
  4. There's no doubt that the final week of the '08 season is one that none of us will soon forget. But, couldn't you make the argument that what this team is doing over these last 2.5 weeks is just as remarkable - if not even more so? 7.5 behind the Nats and 5 games behind the Cubs in early September, and we may just catch and pass both of them for the top WC spot? Oh, and by the way - we lost our best player and the MVP of the league during the first week of September! I might agree that it feels a bit "loser-ish" to hang flags for Wild Card seasons, but if we did it for the '08 run - I think you could make the argument that this '19 is equal in amazement. Only difference of course is that the WC was a 5 game series back then, and now it is just a 1 game "play-in" game - so it might feel awkward celebrating that if we lose the WC game. Things have certainly been better for this franchise the last 11 years, but I don't think you should be taking having a competitive team for granted. Winning in MLB is tough.
  5. Defense has been very strong, and offense is showing signs of getting it together. They've played 3 likely top 5 defenses to start the season. The schedule will let up, and the offense will get things in gear more consistently.
  6. I'm very happy that Rashan Gary had a nice game today. It should hopefully shut up some of the idiot Twitter armchair GMs for a little while. Gray looked energetic and very powerful out there.
  7. 86 wins with 6 left. Who would have thought in August that this team would have a legit shot at 90?
  8. Nice! Another sweep! Time to go finish strong!
  9. I don't know. Going in to Wrigley and being on the verge of a 4-game sweep seems pretty "earny" to me. Beating whipped dogs is easy-see every series we've played outside the Cardinals one recently Cubs were playing very well up until their series with the Reds last week, where they dropped 2 of 3. Dropping 4 would obviously be a series killer, but they we playing fine going in.
  10. I don't know. Going in to Wrigley and being on the verge of a 4-game sweep seems pretty "earny" to me.
  11. Very nice play from Orlando there to get out of it.
  12. Gross bullpen. Gross. Yes, I know they should be out of it, but ugh.
  13. Good. Short outing, but he was dominant again.
  14. Yu Darvish is finally pitching well for the Cubs. Might be too little, too late.
  15. Maddon is just going to put Kimbrel in again in the 9th.
  16. Oh well ... Brewers are gonna get a no-no one of these years.
  17. It is for me. Our pitching right now is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUSLY OUTRAGEOUSLY MASSIVELY THE BEST EVER!!!! There, someone had to say it. Hate to be a buzzkill, but no they didn't
  18. Yeah, that is concerning. Not a fan if they are just pulling him due to pitch count. Gotta stretch him out a little more than this. Do you think they just don't want him to swing a bat yet? There's 2 outs. have his stand that and take 3 pitches.
  19. Yeah, that is concerning. Not a fan if they are just pulling him due to pitch count. Gotta stretch him out a little more than this.
  20. BA just said it was a sell-out today... I meant on here... Pretty much always like this when the Packers and Brewers are playing at the same time.
  21. Don't like the conservative offense with 1:13 left. In fact, I hate it.
  22. Don't like this bend and keep bending defensive gameplan today. Pretty horrible. Playing zone and letting a veteran statue of a QB march on them. Gotta change it up pretty quick.
