  1. Just an easy way to second-guess CC Who was second guessing? People were saying well before Grisham grounded out that it sucked not to have RH options. The people calling for Perez to take that AB were obviously second guessing.
  2. Hiura is providing plenty of examples lately on why he was sent down earlier this year. I think he got up, the MLB coaching staff saw that defense first hand, and said "You go down and work on that." He is a very poor defender. Which was how he was advertised.
  3. Perez has solid career numbers vs Ray as well, albeit in only 9 ABs. Grisham was solid against LHP before his call-up, though, and has never really had drastic splits, so he's probably fine in that role.
  4. Davies was pitching well? Last outing was good. But he’s not a good pitcher, trying to be hopeful. Don't throw fast = bad pitcher? No. I don't get how someone who slobbered over the pitachability of Aaron Wilkerson for a big chunk of the season can call Davies "not a good pitcher". Par for the course with you though.
  5. Jeffress to the IL with a strained hip. Ray Black recalled. Figured something was up with JJ. He was pitching very well before his blow-up outing against the Cardinals last week, then had a tough luck outing on Friday. Velocity was good, but his breaking pitches weren't dancing like they should. Hopefully he has this break then can come back in September reinvigorated for the stretch run. Him finding "Good JJ" would be a huge boon to this team's playoff chances.
  6. Pretty surprising given the injury to Burks. Thought he would play quite a bit of dime LB, even if it wasn’t his preference. Also surprising they couldn’t get anything for him. Even a 6th or 7th. No so surprising to me at least. I like Gute, but he's quickly proving deficient at finding value for assets that should and do have value. Daniels is another example.
  7. This false narrative that the Brewers are pinching pennies is only coming from a few posters that refuse to acknowledge that fact.

  10. Juiced baseball Eric Sogard is a good player. The ball has turned several players that were contact hitters that can hit the ball to all fields into superstars or useful players. This is interesting. May explain why some are having better seasons (better hit tool/contact) versus others such as Corey Ray, who doesn't have a good hit tool/not a contact hitter. I have a feeling that if prime Lyle Overbay played today, he'd by up in that Anthony Rizzo/Joey Votto territory.

  13. It was his first PB since July 6th. He has caught the 2nd most innings in the majors, and has the 18th most PB, 19th most WP. Bringing logic and reason to a false narrative in the IGT is like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

  16. Nice to have a win where it wasn't in doubt in the late innings. Great work by the pitching staff tonight. It appears they may just have corrected what was going wrong with Lyles, because he's pitching like he did early in the season with the Pirates.

  19. Why? It’s better on the mind. I'll take a one-hit shutout in a game started by the #5 starter on a crappy pitching staff. Every time. And not feel bad at all about it.
