  1. As long as they win, they can call it a pigpen game for all I care Well I think you just settled the nickname thing. Congrats! Quick, someone call Bill Michaels! I'll get the trademark office on the horn.
  2. It's like a total of three accounts pushing it on Twitter. I wonder if any of those accounts have any connection to this domain? https://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=frostyboys&e=com ORGANIC MARKETING OPPORTUNITY!
  3. I hate the Cubs, and those Terrance Gore ABs on Tuesday were still painful to watch. If it came to that, Broxton is much, much better with the bat than Gore, though. That's more of a indictment on how little of a threat Gore is, than saying Brox is any good with the bat.
  4. +1000...I don't see the need for Broxton at all...At least not with Santana...one or the other, but not both. Cedeno not being on it absolutely floored me. I assumed he was a lock. Broxton and Santana are going to serve very different roles for this team. The two are not even close to interchangeable. I'd be very surprised if Broxton touches a bat in this series. I would imagine he's the last offensive player on the bench. But he'll be inserted as a pinch runner and defensive replacement at the end. Santana, though, will be one of the team's prime pinch hitters. I'd be surprised if he sees the outfield grass, though. I gave my thoughts on Cedeno in the previous post. But there really isn't much need for a LOOGY in this series. If they need a lefty, Miley or Gio can come in, and give you length as a bonus.
  5. Cedeno's Brewer tenure started very positively, but he has not been good his last few times out. The look of disgust on Counsell's face when Cedeno failed to record an out on Monday was probably the clincher. When you are a LOOGY, you need to get lefties out.
  6. If you replace a guy on the roster, the guy you replaced is out for that series and the next series. So if the Brewers swapped out a guy against the Rockies, he wouldn't be able to return to the roster until the World Series.
  7. I hope Woody hits for himself at least once this afternoon, because it likely means the Brewers are smacking the ball around.
  8. I think its predicated on the idea that they no longer can afford Hader not being able to go in back-to-back games if the situation warrants. I would hate to see Hader to 2-3 today, then not be available until Monday. That really limits the options.
  9. Guerra is the owner of the Brewers' longest SP outing of the year (8 IP) against ... you guessed it, the Colorado Rockies.
  10. Can you imagine how this board would have reacted at the All Star break if someone said that Brandon Woodruff would be starting Game 1 of the NLDS for the Brewers?
  11. I appreciate those words FVBrewerFan. Thanks. And for anyone thinking I someone else with a history here, you couldn't be more wrong. I posted about this issue yesterday and if anything is similar to a former poster it is only by coincidence. I'm just the type that doesn't take any unnecessary crap. I would never come at anyone. I'm very kind, considerate, and engaging. But like I said, if someone comes at me, expect the hammer and I'm not talking about Henry Aaron. As far as FVBrewerfan and I go, as far as I'm concerned, it is over and done. Hopefully he and I can engage in compelling conversations about the Brewers and everybody's favorite bullpen, the Frosty Boys from now until the Brewers win the World Series. To the guy who posted just before me, your slot car stuff sounds great! I am a slot car nut. I race all 3 primary scales: HO, 1/32 and 1/24. I've got a huge HO track that is 4 lanes, and three other 1/32:1/24 tracks. I've got about 70 cars total of all three scales. However, HO is still my favorite! Love spending time racing with my kids! Welcome! You picked a great time to sign up!
  12. There just isn't many lefty hitters on that team that warrant a LOOGY. Parra, Blackmon, Dahl and Gonzalez. Not a ton of danger there.
  13. I'm a bit concerned too. It's a game time thing, I had to unload my 4 tickets solely due to game time. If it was at 7, I easily could have attended and found 3 other people wanting to go. I can't imagine there will be too many empty seats. And Friday will for sure sell out, much easier to take a half day on a Friday than Thursday. I'm thinking a lot of Cub fan bought up tickets thinking they would be in this series. All of those fans are trying to unload them now. Watching those prices drop is just adding insult to their injury.
  14. There are some baseball-ish things to lean back on with the Woodruff part. Peralta may get a long run in the middle of the game anyways for either game 1 or game 2. Woodruff got lit up at Coors which a lot of people do. Peralta, yes, dominated there, but he's a deceptive pitcher throwing his first pitches in the majors in that Colorado start and I think the Rockies were baffled. Not sure they will be the 3rd time. I think Peralta may play a more important role anyways. He may have to fill innings 4-6 in game 1 or game 2 so he'll have his say, potentially. I think Freddy gets the start Sunday in Colorado. Call it an educated hunch
  15. I get the feeling that his September numbers impressed the heck out of Counsell and Stearns. I know they impressed the heck out of me. Pitched 12.1 innings in September, giving up one ER with 16 Ks. Was hitting 98 on the gun with regularity. I've always really liked Woodruff, but he took a huge step in September.
  16. I don't know about that. I would think they might go righty-heavy to combat those righty power hitters on the Rockies. You may be right, though.
  17. It would be a big bummer to give up on Schoop at this point, but if they go that route, I'd understand it. I wouldn't have a problem at all with Moustakas being brought back next year. He hasn't torn the cover off the ball in his time with the team, but he's been solid both offensively and defensively, and he seems like a great clubhouse presence and team leader. If they could get him on an affordable 2-3 year deal, that would be fine by me. Shaw has proven that, while he's never going to be a Gold Glover at 2B, his defense is acceptable there. If Arcia is seeing most of he time at SS, his range and fielding prowess helps make up for Shaw's lack of range. You'd also have guys like Perez or perhaps even Mauricio Dubon that can play 2B vs. lefties if you want to play matchups.
  18. I get why the A's did it. Look at that Yankee lineup, then look at who the A's have been trotting out to start games for them. Would you have trusted Mike Fiers or Trevor Cahill to get through that lineup?
  19. Lyles took a perfect game into the 8th inning against these same Rockies on May 15 while pitching for the Padres at Petco Park. I remember some talk about that at the time, as it pretty much came out of nowhere. The guy has been good out of the pen, albeit in low-leverage situations. I don't know if I'd chance putting him on the 25-man, where he'd likely have to pitch big innings. I very much want to bring him back next year, though.
  20. Part of me wonders if they load up on situational righties, and maybe Miley and Gio don't even make the roster for this series.
  21. You need to relax guy. LOL, you are ready to pick a fight because people aren't putting Peralta on their completely arbitrary 25-man roster guesses, and I need to relax? Sure.
  22. Who says Jeffress doesn't give up that double? Woodruff has been terrific lately. I would have trusted him in that spot nearly as much as Jeffress. I don't make the decisions. If they were holding Jeffress for a possible Tuesday game, it's their call.
