  1. Probably corporate Cub fans that wrote off the tickets as a business expense and didn't bother to resell.
  2. I think that was a case of Counsell maybe getting a little too cute with matchups. It isn't like Broxton is a pitcher-type up there like Gore, though. The guy hit 20 HRs last year. I would have rather seen Granderson there, but it would have been lefty-lefty and Counsell has been very careful not to put Grandy in that situation. Could hit Kratz there as well I suppose, but then you're not covered if Pina gets hurt.
  3. I love that 3 of the 5 are Brewers' draftees, and 4 of 5 were developed by the team. That said, I don't think they'll trade both Davies and Anderson, and it wouldn't surprise me to see them re-sign Miley and/or Gio. Can never have enough starting pitching depth, and as they have shown, a lot of these guys can be very valuable as multi-inning relievers. I've been a big advocate of moving Hader to the starting rotation, too, but with the philosophy this team has, he may be just as valuable in the role he's in.
  4. I think Jordan Lyles is a darkhorse there. He's a power guy, and pitched very well when called upon by the Brewers, albeit in limited opportunities and non high-leverage spots. Also Adrian Houser seems primed to take a step next year.
  5. Ok. We may have just missed it, but could not recall a pitch above 94. That's what really concerned me. Per MLB.com he topped out at 95.3 MPH For a guy that sat at 96 typically, and touched 97 once in a while, that isn't concerning at all.
  6. I think Peralta is going to be first out on Sunday. No inside info, but a strong hunch. I think they are also lining Chacin up to pitch Game 5 if necessary.
  7. Remember when Matt Albers looked unhittable back in April?
  8. I think there is an extremely good chance that Zach Brown is treated the same way Burnes was this year, and is brought up at some point mid-season next year to serve as a pen piece. Woodruff, Burnes, Brown, Webb ... this team has really hit it out of the park lately on drafted college arms.Hoping that Kirby and Rasmussen are next in line if they can get over the injury woes.
  9. Good pitchers for sure, but the Brewers have faced (and beaten) better this year. Marquez and Freeland aren't frightening matchups by any means.
  10. Brooks Kieschnick ... but as long as he takes part in batting practice beforehand.
  11. The way Woodruff has pitched since his call-up, I think he's close to a lock for the rotation. Burnes already is. I think Peralta is probably at least in the mix for a rotation spot as well. Add in Nelson (I know, question mark), and not only do they have a deep rotation, they likely have solid trade bait as well. Could we see Anderson and Davies dangled in potential deals?
  12. Yeah, I think he's the "in case of emergency" reliever tomorrow. But I have a tough time seeing him pitch at all. About the only way I think it happens is if the Brewers get out to a big early lead, and the Rockies start chipping away and make it close. It sure was fun watching him face Carlos Gonzalez, though. Gonzo looked like he wanted to be anyplace but in that batter's box. What a weapon! And the fun thing is, there are several others in that pen that are pitching comparably effective.
  13. I'm not concerned about the pressure, but I am concerned about the 94 MPH "heat." 5 MPH off of what he is capable of... Has he hit 99 this year? I thought he kind of sat comfortably at 96ish?
  14. ...anyone know what Ben Sheets is up to? Isn't Yount already in town? Bud? Melvin before he takes the Mets job LOL?
  15. You are gonna know when to stop reading. It was like a bomb of pessimism went off. I get it, though. We went from "have this game in the bag" to "CRAP! in a matter of about 5 minutes."
  16. They did not have to pitch Guerra, Peralta, Miley or Gio, so they should be fine for tomorrow. Hopefully Chacin can go 4 strong at least (hopefully 5 if he's efficient) and Guerra or one of the lefties can give 3 more.
  17. I guess the 82MPH middle middle hanger wasn't good enough. He used to be so good at pitch recognition. I didn't realize that goes as a player ages.
  18. I agree. But gotta work with what you have. Would be nice to have Anderson's length right about now, even with his HR propensity.
