  1. I guess we'll see what happens. I predict that Davies will have a rotation spot sooner rather than later. If Davies proved one thing last year, it's the ability to get deep into games, which this rotation could really use, especially with the state of the pen.
  2. Who are you giving the boot for Davies? He now has 18 starts this year MLB/MiLB and has been brutal both places. Why does he even deserve a shot at the rotation at this point? Guerra has been bad, but wasn't bad his last time out. I guess if he bombs a few more times maybe you make a move there. It's definitely a good problem to have. I guess I would move Guerra to a relief role for the time being. Wade Miley could very well turn back into a pumpkin at any time. Despite his spectacular start yesterday, Freddy Peralta has been pretty bad the last month or so. Right now the team has some starting pitching depth, but it is precarious.
  3. If Davies is truly 100% healthy, I'd take the 2017 version of Zach Davies over anyone currently in the Brewers' rotation. We're talking about a nearly 3 WAR starting pitcher who won 17 games with a 3.9 ERA last year. So would I....but is that really likely. Peralta didn't implode his last start so he won't get an opportunity there. Likely? No, but it is certainly possible. Davies was terrific last year, so he has it in him. There is only one way to find out.
  4. If Davies is truly 100% healthy, I'd take the 2017 version of Zach Davies over anyone currently in the Brewers' rotation. We're talking about a nearly 3 WAR starting pitcher who won 17 games with a 3.9 ERA last year.
  5. Do they have a choice? Right now the pen is Jeffress, Hader, Burnes and dynamite. If Albers can be anything close to effective, it's worth taking a look.
  6. 33 games to go. If they finish 22-11, that is 93 wins. I'd say that'll put them in.
  7. Big win for a team that has struggled in day games. Shoulda had a sweep, but I'll take 2 out of 3. Lets keep it going!
  8. They didn't He was joking about Arcia. Or not joking. Yeah, I know. But he's wrong. Arcia has actually been decent the last couple weeks.
  9. Par for the course. Even when they are winning, they are still frustrating to watch.
  10. Double switch Good point ... 4-outer it is. See you Sunday Jeremy!
  11. Does Jeffress stay in for the 4-out save opportunity, or do they (gasp) go with Hader? I would think if Hader was available, he would have been brought in to face Scooter there.
  12. Warming up, believe it or not. Jeffress coming in to face Scooter, though.
  13. Dang it Williams! This pen was so good. Not it's turned into Hader, Jeffress and a gas can.
  14. Come on Williams. Don't turn this into something. Counsell better have the pen on standby.
  15. Jorge Lopez with a nice start for the Royals today (5 IP, 1 ER). I was always a little disappointed they gave up on him as a starter. Definitely has the stuff to succeed there.
  16. I did not have a lot of faith in Freddy going into today's game. I am very, very happy to be wrong. He's been sensational today.
  17. Freddy with a very efficient 65 pitches through 5. This was exactly what the doctor ordered. Now lets score 5-6 more runs, and make this a Matt Albers game.
  18. Have we established it was a bad challenge yet? I can't tell.
