  1. Between being a soft platoon partner with Renfroe and being a LHH DH option, he'd likely play nearly every day. It's been a couple years since he's played in CF, but perhaps he could spell Lo Cain out there as well. This is the exact type of late Spring Training move that the Brewers have pulled off in the past. Stack talent, and things tend to naturally work themselves out.
  2. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that Yelich is already penciled in the #3 spot in next Thursday's lineup.

  4. With the draft not taking place until July 17, he'd be sacrificing more than half his season. I imagine some team will step up to offer him a nice deal before that.
  5. It doesn't make a lot of sense on paper, and there is not really room for him in the lineup or on the field, but would it surprise anybody for Stearns and the Brewers to step in and grab Michael Conforto on something like a two-year, $36 million deal?
  6. Guessing that spot #40 is ticketed for Luis Perdomo.
  7. It all depends on how Seattle sees him. If they think he could be a future franchise QB, that is actually a pretty light return.
  8. Doesn't matter. He's on the Big League roster, and is out of options. Source is literally every Brewer beat writer on Twitter.
  9. He's this year's Jordan Zimmermann-esque reclamation project. Not super far removed from being a useful pitcher. I remember back in 2017-18 he was considered one of the young up-and-coming pitchers in MLB, and was pretty much off-limits in trade talks. Then of course, as often happens to young pitchers, the wheels came flying off as both injuries and mLB hitters figuring him out sapped his effectiveness. He has always been an extreme ground ball guy who relies in his sinker. The Brewers have had good success with those types in the past. I don't expect to see him in many leverage spots for awhile, though.
  10. Doesn't matter now, as he was just added to the big league roster. I imagine he's now the long man in the pen/7th starter. No options, so if he doesn't work out, you cut bait and move on. They must like what they see, though, considering the quick elevation to the ML roster.
  11. Added to the major league roster today, and has no options left, so it appears he's slated for that final swingman BP spot. They must have liked what they saw after getting him in the building.

  15. There is 100% a human element to formulating projections.
  16. Oh without a doubt. Obviously I'm biased, but Fangraphs has seemingly had a bias against Brewers players for years. Perhaps they have a Cubs fan on their staff? LOL
  17. I'm interested in seeing how Severino does as the short side of a platoon, basically only facing lefties. He has power. He was miscast as the Orioles #1 catcher last year, but I don't think he's a bad guy to have around. Obviously not going to give you near the defense that Manny provided, but I think he'll be better offensively.
  18. Cutch was MUCH more productive last year, and while no one really knows Pujols' true age, Cutch is likely at least 5-6 years younger.
  19. So in this scenario, who plays 3B on opening day? Peterson? Brousseau? Also, Urias is the backup SS. I doubt they go into the season with only Adames and nothing else at that position. I suppose Peterson may be able to play there if they get desperate, but I kinda doubt it.
  20. Jon Singleton is another one to watch. Once a huge prospect that signed a big deal with the Astros.
  21. Can we go back to the lockout?
  22. Right. If the plan is to give Cutch most of the DH ABs, that takes them out on Castellanos, and the OF is probably close to filled up. Potential upgrade spots are 1B and 3B, but they'd have to be pretty decent upgrades to move off of Tellez and Urias.
  23. Probably a better shot of David Dahl getting that shot first.
