  1. I got the marquee pricing for the Cubs games but the other games at reg prices is impossible.
  2. Ennder go look at that Sheets thread its littered with sign Sheets sign Sheets! and there are people who still want to throw $15 million at Ben. It's hard to let go but just let him go guys. GO Brew (edit: multiple exclamation marks --1992)
  3. Guys Ben Sheets gets no money from us, its time to cut the chord, this makes Melvin look like a genius, just think if DM would have listened to all of the GM's on this board. OUCH!!!
  4. New pricing. since things are slow I hope no one minds the bump.
  5. I remember Boras wanted something like the Posada deal for Varitek, IMO Boras has lost alot of credibility in the industry. No one takes the guy seriously anymore. Ramirez is another black eye for him. He was a fool for turning down the Dodgers offer.
  6. The players union is probably going to be in for a rude awakening on the next contract, especially if the economy is anywhere near where it is now. The owners could probably implement almost anything they want.
  7. Here's a simple remedy to the cap. Let teams only sign 1 Type A free agent. They can negotiate with whoever they want but as soon as they sign a Type A player they drop out of the bidding for other players. This would solve a TON of problems!!!
  8. Sheets will be lucky to get more than Smoltz did, probably will be incentive laden and Sheets should fire his agent, wow what a miscalculation!!!!!
  9. I'm not sure Hall can be any worse than he has been the last 2 years, maybe with the eye surgery he can recapture some of his batting skills. it would be nice if he could draw some walks. The Brew is going to need the offense to step up this year, and that means someone besides Braun, Fielder and Hardy. That means Hart, Cameron & Hall are big keys to the offense this year.
  10. Rotowordl has an interesting blurb about Sheets today, not sure this injury is something that won't need surgery. Wow, that injury probably cost Sheets $40-$60 million!!! With the remaining money we have we have to have a healthy arm, I guess that means the Sheets ship has sailed. Anyone disagree? GO BREW
  11. Me too. I'll pay a little above face!!!
  12. These were a set of 4 as sold at the Fanzone. These are from 2007 and only 360 of each were made. The 2008 have something like 2000 each made. The set includes Fielder Hardy Hart Braun Each one is $20 delivered or $75 for the set, we'll negotiate shipping. Thanks for looking Mike T
  13. Fielder won't double this #. Seems like a good number for the Brew. I don't think it means anything long term either way.
  14. What about allowing a team to sign only 1 or 2 Type A FA's, that would not allow the Yankees to completely empty their pocketbooks also it would spread the talent just a bit. I love the idea of a franchise player but the Indians would never have traded C.C in the first place with tha rule. Go Brew
  15. Is Smoltz returning as a closer?, I would love him in our rotation
  16. With our payroll situation I would love to but it would probably be smarter to go #3 or #4 starter and closer. A combo of Fuentes & Looper probably has a better impact than Lowe, Lowe is older & then who closes?
  17. So basically we have approx $10-13 million to spend on a closer and a possible starter?
  18. Just a sidenote, is Boras losing his touch or is this his strategy to start outrageous (Lowe, Varitek & Manny) and settle for above average or below. Remember the AROD fiasco, basically AROD had to settle the deal himself.
  19. IMO this deal would put the Brewers in contention for the next 3-4 years, I'm going to assume DM is going to address the bullpen, I'm not getting my hopes up but it would be fricking awesome!!! GO BREW
  20. NO!! wow you guys are scary good. I did recently see a Stubkins reference on here which made me smile http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. In the past Dunn has said he absolutely dislikes hitting in Milwaukee (at Miller Park). This is a non-story IMO. Dunn will not be a Brewer.
  22. Fielder won't crack $8 million IMO
  23. I would love to know if it was no or would you do Cain?
  24. The 6 yr deal may be enough for CC to say "yeah lets do it"!!! If I'm MA (and I'm not) I definitely do this. The Brew will most likely draw 3 million + again next year and this town goes absolutely Brewer crazy if CC comes back and then he also becomes BMOC!!!! Let's do this!!!
