    Trammell is having a really rough year in AA, kind of surprised he’s all that San Diego is getting considering how much they gave up.

    Gotta give it up to Puig for sticking up for the team he is currently not a member of but sill wearing the jersey of. Pirates started it by yelling at Garrett from the dugout, and Garrett went attack mode on the whole PIT team. David Bell came charging directly at Hurdle, ended up in a headlock by a Pirates player at the bottom of a pile. One of the wilder scenes I’ve seen.

    Syndergaard looks stellar tonight. Granted he’s facing the White Sox, but he’s blowing 98-100 by guys with sharp downward movement, slider is sharp too. 5 IP 1 H 0 ER 7 K so far

    Lucchesi would be my first choice but I’m not sure the Padres would consider moving him.

    Either Barnes or Williams. Both had options. Also would have made the Alex Wilson experience unnecessary. Pittsburgh promised him a rotation spot. So the Brewers sticking him in the pen probably wasn’t his first choice.

    Not only is Russell a bad human being, he’s not a very good ball player. Hard pass.

    Agreed with this, it was great to see CC go to Hader in the 7th when the situation called for it. Totally on board with Freddy taking the closer role and Hader going back to the situational high leverage buzzsaw.

    Got to see Lazar in person today and he’s pretty impressive for such a young kid. Kind of funky delivery, hitters looked off balance and overmatched for most of his outing.

    Morosi was on MLB Network this morning discussing which teams were scouting Mad Bum’s start last night and didn’t mention the Brewers. He did mention the Crew when he started talking about Marcus Stroman, however.
