  1. Amazing how much of a liability Saladino has been in the field. Need to turn two there
  2. Come on JJ. We need this one with Bumgarner going tomorrow
  3. Sure would be nice if Thames gets hot for this road trip. Nice approach today
  4. Hamels will magically turn into vintage Hamels because the Cubs seem to catch every break lately.
  5. 1. Eric Thames (L) LF 2. Lorenzo Cain ® CF 3. Christian Yelich (L) RF 4. Jesus Aguilar ® 1B 5. Travis Shaw (L) 3B 6. Brad Miller (L) 2B 7. Erik Kratz ® C 8. Orlando Arcia ® SS 9. Wade Miley (L) P Happy to see Arcia back, hope he produces. His glove and his energy are much needed.
  6. According to Adam McCalvy, Jake Gatewood will be in Milwaukee tomorrow to get his left knee looked at by Dr. Raasch. Not good.
  7. The Giants are 7-1 in the 8 games that Rodriguez has started this year, and he's pitched at least 6 innings in 6 of those starts. Miley is going to have to be great tonight, and hopefully the offense can do just enough to win.
  8. I still would not do it. If my math is correct they are paying the current bullpen about $11M total. So, almost double the bullpen budget to add one more pitcher? No thanks. I'm not sure why that amount for 1 year matters to any fan. It's not coming out of your pocket and there's likely no opportunity cost for that type of deal. Exactly. And the Brewers will still manage to have one of the lowest payrolls in the league regardless.
  9. I'm fine with that. Hamels has been pretty bad
  10. Thought the same thing. Maybe send him back to AAA to get stretched out Sorry if this is just wrong, but isn't Burnes going to hit innings limits too? I thought that was part of the BP move and then he gets ready to move to the rotation next year. He's only pitched 85.2 innings this season, threw 145.2 last season, so he's still got some room to work with
  11. Thought the same thing. Maybe send him back to AAA to get stretched out
  12. Throw in Wilmer Flores!
  13. Thought I saw that the Jays had lowered their initial asking price, which was probably this Sheffield or Frazier ask from NYY.
  14. The full trade from @Dbacks ... "OFFICIAL: #Dbacks acquire RHP Matt Andriese from the Tampa Bay Rays for C Michael Perez and RHP Brian Shaffer. To make room on the 40-man roster, the club designated RHP Randall Delgado for assignment."
  15. Per Ken Rosenthal ... "Source: Andriese from #Rays to #DBacks. @byRobertmurray reported deal in place."
  16. Why so they can basically "tank" the rest of the season in the middle of a playoff chase?? Yea, I don't understand that mentality at all. The Brewers are 2.5 GB of a Cubs team that looks beatable, with their star 3B seemingly battling a shoulder injury for the rest of the year and a thin/underwhelming starting rotation. They're also in the lead of the Wild Card. So just throw in the towel and don't upgrade the team because we don't want to lose potential 40-man casualties in a trade that could help get us to the postseason?
  17. Oh man ... Domingo for Happ would be such a blah trade. Suter gets hurt, so we replace him with a Suter clone? Happ is just way, way better than Suter. 10+ K/9, 4.18 ERA, 3.84 FIP for Happ vs. 7.46 K/9, 4.44 ERA, 4.49 FIP for Suter. According to Fangraphs, Happ has been worth around 3 WAR every year since 2015 onward, and is on pace to be there again. Suter, while I like the guy, cannot hold a candle to the consistency of Happ. Happ has made it thru at least 6 innings in 10 of his 20 starts this season and thru 7 innings in 6 starts, while pitching in the AL East. Suter has made it thru the 6th 3 times in his 18 starts this season. With all the lefty bats in our division (Votto, Carpenter, Rizzo, Scooter, etc) it'd be nice to add a veteran guy like Happ who can pitch deeper into games and get the strikeout when he needs it.
  18. Freddy is really lucky to not give up a pair of homers to Rendon and Adams. Missing his spots big time with the fastball and leaving it right down the middle
  19. He's not growing into power unless he stops hitting ground balls all the time. That may be, but I don't believe that the Brewers necessarily need another power hitter anyways. Yelich puts the ball in play. He can knock one out of the park enough to keep pitchers honest, but his strength is contact/hitting the ball where it's pitched, and he has a lot of success slapping ground balls that find a hole. That is really needed come potential playoff time when you're getting a team's best pitchers out of the pen in big situations every night.
