  1. I keep seeing people comparing Medina to Burnes, including MLB Pipeline's tweet earlier... and isn't Sixto Sanchez the Phillies #1 pitching prospect? Who they refused to put in a deal for Machado? Makes sense the Brewers wouldn't offer Burnes.
  2. Totally. The ball would be in the air about 300 feet from the plate and the next pitch is being delivered.
  3. deGrom's agent wants the Mets to trade him "CAA’s Brodie van Wagenen, agent for Jacob deGrom: “We have discussed Jacob’s future with the Mets at length. Jacob has expressed interest in exploring a long-term partnership that would keep him in a Mets uniform for years to come.” 1/2 "More from Van Wagenen: “If the Mets don’t share same interest, we believe their best course of action is to seriously consider trade opportunities now. The inertia of current situation could complicate Jacob’s relationship with the club and creates an atmosphere of indecision.”"
  4. Yea I'd direct this more at Haudricourt/McCalvy, especially Tom. There are zero tough questions ever posed by the beat reporters.
  5. when I saw David Freese coming to the plate I knew what was coming. I hate that guy
  6. Yea Cardinals fans have been clamoring for this for awhile it seems, and the whole Norris/Hicks situation is just unacceptable in my opinion. Matheny seemed to get a real kick out of it too, not good.
  7. The Cardinals have fired Mike Matheny. Mike Shildt is interim manager.
  8. It's 0-0 My god, can we hold of on the negativity until their actually, you know, losing??? Or maybe until the Pirates get a runner past first base??? Ok, now can we be negative?
  9. @Ken_Rosenthal #Brewers continue to try on Machado, sources tell The Athletic. Arguably club with most urgent need. Thames, Braun, Pina on DL; Cain, just coming off. Team has lost four straight and six of eight. 3:24 PM - 14 Jul 2018
  10. I can't imagine working for the Wilpons would be an upgrade for Stearns.
  11. Having so many regular working people defending the most blatant upward redistribution of wealth schemes over and over again is something I just can't wrap my head around. Trust me, these billionaires will be fine using their own money to build stadiums for their absurdly easy revenue stream. What really needs to happen is solidarity between local governments/citizens to turn down billionaire owners using them as bargaining chips with threats to move. Eventually, if no one agrees to pay for it, billionaires will just have to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and pay for their own stadiums, after which they can continue making completely unnecessary amounts of money.
  12. So you would have been fine with the Brewers leaving Milwaukee? How does "the people who would be forced to foot the bill having a say in the matter" equal "oh so you want the Brewers to skip town??"
  13. 1. Eric Thames (L) RF 2. Lorenzo Cain ® CF 3. Christian Yelich (L) LF 4. Jesus Aguilar ® 1B 5. Travis Shaw (L) 3B 6. Brad Miller (L) 2B 7. Tyler Saladino ® SS 8. Erik Kratz ® C 9. Wade Miley (L) P
  14. Ray with ANOTHER homer, 3 on the day now.
  15. Weird This is working fine for me still: https://www.mlb.com/all-star/final-vote
  16. Good point. However, as someone who was very critical in real time with the Brewers' approach for years with the draft, and for good reason as has been proven, I think you will see a dramatic upturn with results from the draft starting with the last couple of years. You don't need to go underslot in the first round. You can go over, and still manipulate other signings to snag some mid top ten round talents later (past round 10) by saving money on seniors, injured, etc. I have no problem at all with picking up more upside guys even if the total number of guys being signed is much lower. I like the quality over quantity idea. There is a huge uptick in the Brewers' savvy in manipulating the dollar value of drafted (or internationally signed for that matter) guys, to the benefit of getting more upside guys while concomitantly signing fewer filler players. Any individual player may boom or bust, but if you get the numbers right, you can hit on some percentage of the guys, and you're going to succeed by having more legit talents developing. I think our draft results will be a 180 degree turnaround going forward, and we will have some more talent in the system, enough for trades and to rejuvenate the roster with youth every year. That's the sweet spot we are headed into going forward. Well said.
  17. The Mets needed to lose to the Marlins after we won in order for the Brewers to win the Wild Card without going to a one-game playoff IIRC. Wes Helms ended up driving in the winning run vs the Mets as we watched on the video board at Miller Park.
  18. Aguilar has some tough competition with the hot name in Muncy and the hometown Turner. Would be surprised if he wins it, but he's definitely the most deserving. Shameful that he didn't make the roster as a reserve.
  19. Hell of an at bat from Kratz when the pitcher can't throw strikes and Guerra is on deck. Swing freely at balls up out of the zone.
