  1. As much as I dislike Bonds and everything he stands for, the Giants owe the guy some gratitude for all the years he played for them and all the spotlight and money he made the Giants.
  2. In the 3+ years since joining this message board, this is officially the most idiotic post I have read.
  3. I think it's safe to say that the trade for Villanueva for Wayne Franklyn with the Giants was a great trade.
  4. I'd would love to trade Gwynn for Murton if the cubs have no use for the guy.
  5. posted this before but I'll repeat it. If we had another starter or two like Suppan, we would have made the playoffs last year Soup pitched just about half of his innings last year against divisional opponents and in those games he was 8-3 with a 3.75 ERA. Including a 2.83 ERA against the Cubs. (Vargas, Bush and Villanueva combined for 5.85 ERA against them last year) Lifetime Soup has a 3.15 ERA in 100 innings pitched against the Cubs. I believe a playoff run starts will divisional wins. This is a workhorse veteran I am very happy to have on my team.
  6. please enter me! Awesome. I'm flying home from Seattle on Wednesday and was planning on going to this game! thanks!
  7. It could go either way. One side is that if Gary Carter made it in, Simmons should. The other side is that Joe Torre never made it in (as a player) either.
  8. we had 7/9 for last year's opening day.. or 8/9 if you count the fact that counsell was born in Wisconsin.
  9. I really don't want to part with this jersey but because it's due to medical payments I have to pay, I'd like to get around $135- 145 for it.
  10. of course one of the great forefathers of the 3TO movement is our very own Rob Deer. If you ever want to see some amazing 3TO stats, look no further than Deer's last year in 1996. 50 AB / 30 SO / 14 BB / 4 HR. wow!
  11. This one always looked very wrong to me. http://images.art.com/images/-/Paul-Molitor-Photograph-C10105976.jpeg
  12. Now on sale!!!! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2350/2347358465_51773fa785.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2295/2347358611_11ca8a2fe9.jpg?v=0
  13. do it! ebay
  14. Why don't they just go out and get Damien Miller?
  15. For a non significant player he is in MLB, Raul sure has an extensive wikipedia page. link
  16. Another fun fact. Legendary manager Connie Mack was 11-3 against the Brewers that year.

  18. I have a problem with Shelly Duncan pulling this crap with only 74 MLB ABs under his belt. Not that anyone should be doing this but you at least have to put your time in.
  19. I still can't think of a single thing that Gwynn brings to the table other than a little speed. Hate to say this because he seems like a good guy but would he really be getting this chance if his dad wasn't who he was?
  20. I'm still not convinced Rick Ankiel is for real. I kind of see him fizzling out and not even being on the team come late August.
  21. Not worried at all. This is why we have spring training. And the whole Alomar comparison doesn't really stack up offensively. Through their first 1100 or so MLB at bats, Weeks has over twice as many home runs with a higher OBP and SLG. People seem to just look at Ricky's batting average from last year and immediately write him off. He had a really good year last year. His OBP last year was one of the highest any Brewer has had in the past ten years!
  22. Am I missing something? These look like just the 2007 archives.
  23. FUN FACT: Levis has the 3rd highest .obp for the Brewers in 1997. What a perv.
  24. ugh "If you're a Pirates fan, and your team hasn't fielded a winning season in 14 years, the payroll excuse gets pretty tiresome. If you're a Cubs fan who is frustrated that your team's $100 million payroll isn't enough for it to compete, imagine how frustrating it would be to see the club spend $200 million and still fail."
  25. Just noticed that 3to was charged with Domestic Violence against his wife a few weeks before we signed him. http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=82714&provider=gnews
