  1. It's a pity they suck against literally everyone else.
  2. Joe Barry is gone. They allowed the Carolina Panthers to score 30 points, that isn't getting washed away. Then that same team got shut out today. It's as black a mark on Barry's record as anything. His contact is expiring there's literally zero reason to think he'll return.
  3. Close. Murphy is on top of the flow chart, the three directly under him are Gute, MLF and Russ Ball. Those three guys are equals and have total power for what they're in charge of with oversight by Murphy.
  4. Hopefully it's really tied all your wifi devices together.
  5. I wonder if they'll follow the actual storyline from King's book instead of the made up mumbo jumbo they did for the original movie.
  6. @Lloyd330 The Other Sports forum has generally been where people post about fantasy sports. Feel free to start a conversation.
  7. I think people need to remember that while Gutekunst is GM, he ain't in charge. The buck stops with Mark Murphy. For everything. Gutekunst and LaFleur are equals, neither has say over the other. Russ Ball, director of football operations (i.e. salary cap guru), completes the triumvirate of this level of football management directly under Murphy. https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/story/news/2019/02/07/green-bay-packers-mark-murphy-team-management-structure-built-success/2450099002/
  8. Nixon is such an idiot. Fall on the damn ball.
  9. Honestly, with the way coaches can work with Zoom/Video it probably doesn't make him any less effective coaching anyone in the system. If Greene's goals are to advance in coaching in the big leagues then it's good to keep him happy and in the organization rather than him seeking work elsewhere.
  10. I'd agree. The late Kohl years were spent in a weird purgatory, refusing to tank but never landing true difference making talent. Until Giannis. Not conducive to keeping more casual fans interested. Trading Ray Allen was a devastating mistake.
  11. I think this has to be a must for MLB, the season is sooo long it's begging for something to add some extra stakes and interest. They could probably add a Championship Game during the All Star break.
  12. I'm not used to seeing our guys get interceptions. Nice!
  13. I think it's a really smart deal, getting the two options for 10 potential years is what really elevates it for me. Worst case it's 8 seasons for $10M AAV plus the buyout (I realize it won't be structured that way) and that's a risk I can live with and won't hurt the team.
  14. The $140 is just the max possible, in reality it's likely less. Incentives for ROY, MVP, GG, All-Star, WS, etc. are figured into that max value. Yeah, we can hope he maxes out that value because it means he's probably one of the top 5 players in the league. I'd also think there's a modest signing bonus to keep yearly values lower. I believe Jimenez got a $5M bonus which got spread out over his arby years.
  15. I hope like hell they stay far away from Matt Chapman especially if he's going to get $16M per season. The guy had a gangbusters 1st month last season then did his best Rowdy Tellez impression the rest of the season, with a mild spike of success in July. I realize he played GG defense but some folks don't seem all that excited about Brice Turang's offense so I can't imagine his defense would protect him from the vile hatred of Brewers posters.
  16. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited by the good things that can come from this deal. I believe in what I've said against it but it's not like I'm going to kick rocks over it. If everything plays out how everyone is expecting it's a grand slam deal. Even if it doesn't work out a $10 million AAV deal isn't crippling. It would sting but it shouldn't affect the team's overall ability to compete. It'd be nice if the baseball gods decided to smile on Milwaukee for once and let this be a kick start to even greater team successes.
  17. One big plus if they get this deal done is building up goodwill between the team and player. If Chourio pops for what everyone is hoping for there's a chance that relationship could help the two sides agree on a extension of his contract down the line. Avoiding the Corbin Burnes issues.
  18. It's valid for you to believe that. Freddy's deal was for 5 years and $15.5 million. I don't think it's quite the same thing. If the deal as speculated on in the Journal Sentinel is close it will be in the neighborhood of 8 years for $80+ million. The way I'm seeing it is paying $80+ million up front and hoping those 2 extra years become a true bargain. That's a fairly big gamble in my view. And yes I realize it's capping some of those arby years in there too, but the big selling point is the two extra years for me and I'm not sure that's ultimately worth the risk. That's not saying I don't think Chourio will be good or his talent and ability isn't worth it, it's simply a risk something doesn't go the team's way during those 8 years.
  19. This logic doesn't seem to work around here. And it's not like you or I are saying any of it is likely to happen but there's a reason the risk goes both ways. From a player's perspective if there were no risk they would ALWAYS choose to go year to year in arby and reach free agency asap. And from a team's perspective this wouldn't be only the 6th time in MLB history a contract like this gets done. It feels stupid for me to have to say that I want Jackson Chourio to be an uber star and stay with Milwaukee for his entire Hall of Fame career but having a contrary opinion about an early buyout contract immediately strikes people as me not understanding what the ramifications are for the good. Of course I see the potential for it to be great, I just see the opposite side and expressed a preference to take the 6 sure seasons one at a time rather than gamble a bunch of up front money for the chance to buy out 2 extra seasons. That money is gone the minute the pen hits the paper and all you have left is hope that things don't go bad. Either way this goes I'm going to be hyped about Chourio being a member of the Milwaukee Brewers the minute he gets promoted to the bigs.
  20. You seem upset about something. I'm not sure what about because I didn't read this but I see a lot of words and capital letters. For what it's worth I'm sorry I made you feel bad and I hope you're having a better day today.
  21. We're you even paying attention to how people felt about Hiura his first year? It has nothing to do with his prospect status because he was already doing it in the majors. People were irate that they sent him back down for service time manipulation, how if they missed the playoffs it would be because they did that. About a rookie. There were discussions about if we would trade Hiura for Jacob deGrom and folks were flipping out that someone would even suggest it, that Hiura was the best thing to happen to the Brewers since the Braun/Fielder years. It's 100% revisionist to suggest people weren't absolutely crazy about him and would have lost their minds in happiness if the Brewers threw $100 million dollars at him to lock him up long term. Right, I understand that. And that's if he works out which isn't a given. Or he doesn't have some disastrous injury. That's why I'm saying I'd love it if he ends up being amazing for multiple seasons, you see that right? Because I'll take the 5 or 6 seasons of an amazing player but in the real world that might not happen. When weighing the two options I'll choose wait and see. It's not that hard man.
  22. Because you know how he ended up. Keep sending me these alley oops.
  23. And? If you're trying to show me a downside I'm not seeing it.
